January is the most popular time of year for booking a holiday. So have you booked yours yet?

2 weeks in Singapore and Indonesia in August. I booked the flights with a very good airline in the autumn. The flights were cheaper than flying to europe with easyjet, and dont have to pay extra for the luggage.

Plan on going to an island and booking beachside villa, then have a few days in Singapore before heading home

tinytemper66 · 02/01/2020 23:14

Ace... school holidays only and I love something look forward to!

TwoZeroTwoZero · 02/01/2020 23:15

Cornwall at Easter. We'll be staying in a cottage thing. First holiday since I took the dc to a caravan on the East Coast by myself and our 1st family holiday since 2016. We're really looking forward to it.

SirChing · 02/01/2020 23:16

Devon on May, Corfu in July, taking DD and her mate to Harry Potter World for her birthday in August which will be an overnight stay, and thinking of a few days in Edinburgh in October.

Oh, and visiting friends in Blackpool for a few days in February too.

kittykatkitty · 02/01/2020 23:16

@theecosystem I book my year around my holidays 😀

YouJustDoYou · 02/01/2020 23:16

Camping in Devon for 5 days.

theecosystem · 02/01/2020 23:17

@kittykatkitty
Jesus, I could never do that. DH and.I are too indecisive and then pick a place to go to on a whim when it suits Grin

It must be quite nice to know where you’re going so far in advance though. Wish I could be that organised Grin

kittykatkitty · 02/01/2020 23:20

We just pick where we fancy and book it.
Some are great, others not but it's an adventure

40somethingJBJ · 02/01/2020 23:22

Valencia region at Feb half term as my friend has an apartment there so has cost us very little in Ryanair flights! Also booked Butlin’s in the sale for the first week of the summer holidays, and hoping for a decent Sun holidays bargain in the next few weeks. Other than that, we’ll go away for loads of weekend in our little touring caravan.

FeigningHorror · 02/01/2020 23:27

Agreed, @theecosystem. Last year we literally booked flights and an Airbnb late one night and left for the airport around eight the next morning. And that’s fairly normal for us. It was a wonderful holiday, too.

Piixxiiee · 02/01/2020 23:29

Any good family by the sea camping recommendations- not butlins please- dont need onsite entertainment. South west ish?

loubieloo4 · 02/01/2020 23:36

After a horrific 2019 where dh (39) was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer we booked a treehouse at Woburn Center Parcs for this month! We have been going to cp for 21 years and have never been able to justify the cost of a treehouse, we are taking our friends and their ds 😊

We are waiting for DH's life insurance to pay out (they are being a nightmare) hopefully in the next few weeks, then dh and I will book a last minute holiday, I'm hoping a week in New York with either a Caribbean cruise or 2 weeks in a luxury all inclusive in Mexico. At some point around Easter we will go to visit friends in Cornwall and a trip to Scotland later in the year.

All this depends on DH's health though...

Strokethefurrywall · 03/01/2020 00:09

@loubieloo4 I'm sorry for your husbands terrible diagnosis, what a cruelty you all face.

I hope you're able to make the very best of your time together and the times you spend laughing and treasuring, outweigh those of fear and grief.

Flowers for what you're facing 💐

igotdemons · 03/01/2020 00:15

French Riviera for a week in September- booked a stunning looking modern villa with a beautiful infinity pool that’s surrounded by vineyards. Flights and hire car all booked too ☀️ Everyone’s holidays sound lovely, especially Australia! 🦘

TheCanterburyWhales · 03/01/2020 00:16

Flowers loobie

Copenhagen-Berlin-Vienna for me.
Booked all the flights yesterday for a grand total of £230 return for two people. That's why I book so far in advance! The Berlin flights were £17 each!

Deadringer · 03/01/2020 00:24

I have no plans as yet but after watching the sound of music I really fancy visiting Salzburg. Has anyone been?

Titsywoo · 03/01/2020 00:36

Already have a week in Duinrell booked for us and friends in August. We normally do centre Parcs so wanted something different but with lots for the kids to do. Hoping to fit in a road trip in Europe for Easter time. We did Normandy last year which was good fun but will go the other way this time I think!

Tortoiser · 03/01/2020 00:48

@Deadringer Salzburg is ace. Do the Sound of Music tour and visit all of the other sights not covered on the tour. It’s a beautiful city.

Bluewavescrashing · 03/01/2020 07:04

So many lovely holidays here!

OP posts:
lovemenorca · 03/01/2020 07:08

Caribbean in Feb with my two children
Italy running holiday with three close friends in May
Broadstairs in a truly amazing looking air bnb flat right on the beach in August for 4 nights

Children also going to center Parcs, Greece and South Africa with their father.

It’s not written about much but goodness - some divorces children get a ridiculous amount of holidays of both parents really enjoy their holidays!

@mildlymiffed what company are you going with please?

teenagetantrums · 03/01/2020 07:12

We going to canaries in march one week all inclusive. Not sure about later in the year. Probably a week somewhere in the UK. Depends on finances

mildlymiffed · 03/01/2020 07:18

@lovemenorca mango holidays. And yes, my ds gets a lot of hols between me and his dad!

Welshponyslave · 03/01/2020 07:22

Last night We booked a week in the Algarve in May, also going to a festival in July.
We did a lot of travelling in 2019 but need to get the house redecorated so less holidays/breaks this year.

MaidofKent78 · 03/01/2020 07:23

Belgium for a week at easter to see some friends and watch some cycling

Eastern Baltic (Estonia, Finland and St Petersburg) for 2 weeks in June (the last time we can take a summer holiday in June for the next 11 years so making the most of it!!!)

EnglishRain · 03/01/2020 07:26

South Tenerife for a week in March and hopefully somewhere like Whitby for a few days in May or June. Meant to be going on a big family holiday in the summer but I'm due a couple of weeks before, so need to fess up before that's booked!
