Just that really.

Mine is my fluffy throw for the sofa I’m currently snuggled up in and them cork heat stands you use to put hot pans and trays on from IKEA Grin

My Kitchenaid stand mixer. It's made baking so much easier, especially bread and pizza dough (no more kneading!)

Taddda · 02/01/2020 16:05

I think its the warm, soothing 'fire like' quality about the salt lamps, non harsh glow from the floor (or at shelf height for me) instead of standard yellow lamplight from above- that kind of sold it too me @Funnyface1 !

I'm personally making this thread my shopping list Grin

As for things I've bought

  • My Bailey Bow Uggs- walking on a cloud and go with pretty much everything (whether it's meant to or not, my feet thank me!)
  • New quilted Barbour waterproof- all my others are so heavy and too warm, this ones light breathable..(comfort seems to be my theme atm)
  • Fluffy John lewis bean bags for the DC
  • A framed copy of 'Desiderata' on the wall by my sink- I catch a line everyday and it just keeps me a bit mindful Smile

My wallet is just perfect, absolutely fit for purpose. It needs to be replaced, but I don't think I'll ever find one as good.
Aeropress coffee maker is also wonderful.

IncrediblySadToo · 02/01/2020 16:41

I fear this might be another expensive thread!!🥴

I think THE BEST is probably my first pair of sketchers - they (& subsequent pairs) have reduced my foot pain hugely, my life is SO much better since I discovered them.

My iPad (first & only ‘tablet’ & iPhone (first & only smart phone) have been brilliant & I wouldn’t be without either of them now.

Any sharp - the best knife sharpener EVER bought on the recommendation from the kitchen gadgets thread.

Philips Senseo coffee machine. I love that it uses pads not pods and it makes a good coffee.

I could go on, Lots of small things that make my life easier & nicer 😊 but not very inspiring for anyone to read.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/01/2020 16:49

I tried to get another salt lamp today but Urban Outfitters were out of stock. Have you lot been buying them all?!

A few more from me:

Plantar 39 shampoo has stopped me shedding hair by the handful

Mac Rubywoo - I'd always been scared of bright lipstick but this has absolutely converted me

Taddda · 02/01/2020 16:56

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie I bought mine on Amazon!

BlueSkies2020 · 02/01/2020 16:57

My best purchase as a mum is definitely the Baby Jogger City Mini GT buggy. It’s been used daily for 4.5 years. My DC love sleeping in it (it lays back into a flat bed) pushes like a dream and I can get lots in basket. Just been pushing it around a very boggy / muddy National Trust property today. It’s been around the ruins in Athens and bridges of Venice. No problem in 38 degree heat as the hood comes right down to cover the child. Frequently on and off buses and the London Underground. It’s been such a workhorse.

I love love love this thread, thanks, OP!

-my macbook - I use it at work, at university and home. I also have a beautiful peonies case on it, makes me happy just looking it at it
-my pair of diamond studs - they were a special gift from my father and I wear them everyday
-my apple watch- I use it a lot
-my planner - I do use it a lot, and makes me happy

BlueSkies2020 · 02/01/2020 17:00

@KnowBetterDoBetter which mop is it please? I’m looking for one!

BuckingFrolics · 02/01/2020 17:00

A small business at a stupid low price just after the 2008 recession. I told them not to sell it to me at that price. But they were convinced it was the best deal they'd get. In 2014 aged 52 I retired and I live very comfortably off my dividends. Best money I ever spent.

WeaselsKingHenry · 02/01/2020 17:06

My Kelly Kettle. It's my absolute favourite possession. I take it on walks and camps, and sometimes just brew up with it in the back garden if I feel like an electric kettle is a bit humdrum that day.

ReadyPayerTwo · 02/01/2020 17:15

Actually my iPhone 6 Plus means the most to me, but it was a present so probably doesn't count.

The bigger screen makes such a difference that I watch most movies and TV series on it, much to the annoyance of my DH but we have very different tastes.

He's recently got the iPhone 11 Pro and I'm not envious at all as it's all about screen size for me, and while his is slightly longer it's no wider than mine, so watching films on it is not as good.

I won't upgrade until Apple bring out a model that's longer AND wider that the six plus.

This.

Genuinely a life changer (we eat a lot of toasted things)

Alez · 02/01/2020 17:31

My very fluffy dressing gown & good quality duvet. I love to be warm and cosy Grin

FuzzyPenguin · 02/01/2020 17:57

Shark Vacuum - got on a Black Friday deal don’t know how I lived without it. My carpets have a new lease of life although it’s amazing how much dust it pulls out of them even though I do them 4/5 times a week.
My house - didn’t realise how much I hated the old house until I moved. I wake up each day I happy to be here.
Ikea storage cubes - hides all the toys

Thefaceofboe · 02/01/2020 19:42

I’m laughing my head off at some of these things (not sure whyGrin) they are all so random I love it.

I want to add - my iPad case. It’s one of them that can stand the iPad up so I can watch Netflix in the bath after a long first day back at work. Dream

I've just ordered two salt lamps on the strength of this thread. I have high hopes!

BikeRunSki · 02/01/2020 20:30

Wool duvet
Aftershokz headphones
Decent running shoes
My road bike

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/01/2020 21:10

The moon one doesn't get very good reviews, and I think is a USB thing, rather than a plug. Mine is the other one on the UO site, but it was out of stock in store today when I tried to get another.

deste · 02/01/2020 21:19

My heated gloves for when we go skiing and now I’ve got heated socks and can’t wait to try them.

MrsTumbletap · 02/01/2020 21:22

My wooden bath tray, which means I can prop up my Ipad to watch a film, rest my drink and even have snacks.

shoebedobedobedobedoo · 02/01/2020 21:26

Our running machine and our Skoda kodiaq

Shockers · 02/01/2020 21:28

My cat. Strictly speaking, I didn’t buy him- we rescued one another, but I bought lots of cat related gubbins when he arrived.

He’s my very best friend.

SukiPutTheEarlGreyOn · 02/01/2020 21:39

An old hand blender that’s been helping make soup quick and easy for over a decade.

A cashmere shawl that I got in a sale ages ago and always feels like a big warm hug through cold winter evenings.
