I think Dawn and Petes relationship is supposed to be very odd.

MrsjBaptiste I thought the tattoo Ness did at the beginning was like Dave Coaches too.

I thought it was funny - not side-splittingly funny, but lots of smiling and occasional laugh out loud funny. I thought the walkie talkie bit was good. And I cried at the end.

I'm watching the first episode from series 2 right now and it is one of the best imo. Pam has some fab lines in it and the Italian restaurant part is fab with Dawn and Pete and the guy they were going to have a threesome with 😂

@thickwoollytights the writing was just superb, that episode in particular every scene was perfection.

I didn't enjoy last night's episode much. It wasn't dreadful- but they've set such a high standard in the past and it did fall short. I loved the first Xmas special they did but this didn't come close.

Her character was probably the weakest in the whole series, IMO. She has done much better things before and since. Not surprised they didn’t include her.

Absolutely loved it. Like having old friends back. You really need to watch it from series one to understand any of the references. Got excited when they were discussing the fishing trip! Really thought we would find out ha ha. Loved the references to previous episodes too. Was like a trip down memory lane. Lovely they thought about moving Gavin and Stacey into next door. Watch the previous series first xx

True @GabsAlot, and there was a perfect opportunity when Smithy described the Shipmans/Wests as his family and Sonia pointed out that they were not related to him -she could have mentioned his actual family then.

Re. Gavins friends having grown up kids- Gavin/Smithy were supposed to be late 20’s at the very start of the series weren’t they? That would make them early 40’s now. And the group of friends weren’t necessarily all exactly the same age. And they only featured a few times in the series as part of the big group, isn’t implausible that some of them having a child (perhaps who they only see the odd weekend) was not mentioned.

I’m amused that people think the characters wouldn’t have changed with all of the experiences they’ve presumably had in the last 10 years. Eg Nessa wouldn’t propose etc. Her and Smithy have been co-parenting and shagging on and off for years. There are some seriously deep feelings there.

No. They just can't expect to like yesterday's show if they don't know the back story. But that's not snobbery. Anyone can catch up.

Sperm count can be increased by changes to certain lifestyle factors.

I've not watched it for years but I enjoyed this one. I loved nessa giving taps as presents and stating some are hot some are cold, lol

I really really enjoyed it. I thought it was funny. I liked how it was just a continuation of the story. It was very familiar and cozy. Pitch perfect for a Christmas Day show.

People in Wales don't say "What to", that's why. It was really very cringey.

Sometimes, people from Barry/Wales will say WHERE to. Like, "Where to is it?". But never, "What to". It makes no sense and I have no idea why Ruth Jones brought that in.

There's no snobbery,just a bit odd to expect to follow the jokes and storyline if you haven't watched the previous episodes.
