You do know the sellotape and scissors will go missing numerous times during your wrapping session?
So I'd actually add 2 more pairs of scissors and 3 rolls of tape unless you want to spend the evening shouting 'they were just here, how can they have disappeared'. Maybe that's just me?
Oh and if you're over 45 do not wrap on the floor, I forgot to use the table again this year and after 2 days wrapping my back is aching and I've just realised why Hmm.

Thorilicious · 22/12/2019 18:12

@FlashingFedora Good advice! We've decided to wait until after dinner now. I'm dreading it, but need to get it done....

Reusable draw string wrapping bags are the way to go..... Insert present, pull the strings tight, do bow, plonk on label, and the jobs done!

shreddednips · 22/12/2019 18:27

I thought I'd finished but have just discovered some more than I somehow missed. Sneaky bastards.
I've also eaten at least 3 which now need to be replaced.
Better dig the wrapping equipment back out...Angry

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 22/12/2019 18:29

I've done my wrapping and can confirm the disappearing scissors and sellotape. Even roped the 12 year old to do some. Hate wrapping presents.

Breastfeedingworries · 22/12/2019 18:29

Marking my place Grin

I’m so bad at wrapping i need the scissor lines. 🤣

halocompanach · 22/12/2019 18:30

Oh god, no. I haven't started.
I've got plenty of time haven't I?

DappledThings · 22/12/2019 18:30

I'd never do it if I waited to do it all in one go. We do each one as soon as it's bought and they all go under the tree as soon as it's up

ItsOurTime · 22/12/2019 18:31

I've done all my wrapping thank god..is there anything in life more frustrating?!?!?

CointreauVersial · 22/12/2019 18:33

If you wrap your stocking gifts, get yourself some tissue paper.

Rip, scrunch, add a piece of tape - done. No need for neat cutting or hospital corners for little gifts that are being lobbed into a pillowcase. Takes mere seconds to do a whole pile.

Of course, there are wrong'uns who don't wrap the stocking presents....

Scarletoharaseyebrows · 22/12/2019 18:33

I'll be with you in about 20 mins. Whose bright idea was it to do stockings for 3 grannies as well as 2 kids? As well as presents. I'm a prize cockwomble. Xmas Grin

RandomMess · 22/12/2019 18:35

Heavy duty tape dispenser and at least 2 pairs is scissors are essential, as is shutting out the cats and dogs as their "help" makes it last 3 times longer...

Shelley54 · 22/12/2019 18:35

I did a session of wrapping this afternoon and need to get back on it once the kids are in bed. I love buying and giving gifts but hate the wrapping.

Good luck everyone!

festivefrustration · 22/12/2019 18:35

Hoping OH will start ours tonight once the kids are in bed.

It’s the only thing he does for Christmas other than the food shop and he doesn’t like to be told when to do it.

ParkheadParadise · 22/12/2019 18:38

I've gave up wrapping presents, DH has taken over. He's really good at it,dd is helping him this year all the presents have random stickers on them😂

IVEgotthetinselBITCHES · 22/12/2019 18:41

So hard to wrap with house full of dc. Presents are stashed in my room but the baby sleeps in there so its tricky to get to them without waking him!

I have done about 10 today and am just going to do another half hour now

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/12/2019 18:43

I've finished. Think I'm getting too old for kneeling on the floor to wrap though - my legs are still hurting hours later!

Rainallnight · 22/12/2019 18:44

I love love wrapping, but this is our first year with two DC so I feel a bit daunted now!

My best wrapping tool is the wrist mounted pre-cut tape dispenser. Woe betide anyone who borrows it.

PoohBearsHole · 22/12/2019 18:44

Might splash out and do prosecco instead of wine BUT has to be Die Hard!!! So excited!!! Starting after the Cadbury doc

IVEgotthetinselBITCHES · 22/12/2019 18:45

Two dc. Those were the days! I am wrapping for FIVE

squeakyheart · 22/12/2019 18:46

I'm hoping to finish wrapping the presents tonight but I also have to decorate the cake so we'll see. I will of course be watched whilst wrapping by DH who says he'll help every year then never does!!!

HelenaJustina · 22/12/2019 18:49

I’ve got 5 stockings left to do, and one panic bought present from this afternoon. I would go and start now but DC1 has comandeered the dining room and won’t let me in!

Iloveacurry · 22/12/2019 18:50

Just finished my wrapping 😊 I found a sellotape dispenser really helpful this year!

WorrisomeHeart · 22/12/2019 18:51

My top tip from this year is that if you have a large bench space (like an island) in your kitchen - it makes a perfect wrapping height surface. Ironing board works too!

Muddlingalongalone · 22/12/2019 18:52

Just got to get the small ones into bed then I'm there....need to decide on my tipple of choice.
