Have you got a TV in your bedroom?!

I've just given in, for the first one since DH and I met 12 years ago. He's always wanted one. I can't decide if it will be cosy watching netflix or movies in bed, or if it makes me feel like a bit of a slob, like I should at least be up and dressed and in the sitting room if I'm watching TV.

Tell me good/bad things about it!

I have a tv in my bedroom and I use it for when DH is on the PlayStation and I want to watch something else.
I’ve got a third TV in the spare room too which dd uses for connecting her Switch too.
If I’m by myself I watch tv downstairs but it’s good to not be tied to one screen.

userxx · 18/12/2019 15:22

My boyfriend has moved in and is bringing his :( Not a fan of TV's in the bedroom but I suppose now there's two of us in the house it gives us options.

itcamefrombeckyvardyself · 18/12/2019 15:24

Yep I love telly in bed.

Especially when my husband is away and my DD and me go bed early to watch a film.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 18/12/2019 16:00

No because I can never sleep if my bed doesn't feel "fresh" to me when I've been in it watching tv.Our bedroom is for sleeping and sex only

Crystal87 · 18/12/2019 16:08

Yes I do have one in my bedroom but rarely watch it as 2 year old is in with us and is a crank when woken by the noise. I do prefer watching stuff in bed though as can relax more.

ExpletiveFairylighted · 18/12/2019 16:15

Yes, we like having a second TV and there isn't anywhere else in the house for one, our bedroom is a second living room in many ways. It's also handy when we are doing the ironing. No issues around tech and sleep for either of us.

BeyondMyWits · 18/12/2019 16:17

Nope, not here. But we don't watch much anyhow (live or streamed). I am a reader - but not in bed for some reason.

I do realise from MN that I must be inordinately "well", people seem to take to their beds a lot...

formerbabe · 18/12/2019 16:18

I love watching tv in bed!

Expressedways · 18/12/2019 16:19

We have one, it was our old TV as DH decided it was too small for the living room when we moved in. It only really gets used on a weekend morning as we let DD come into bed with us and watch some cartoons whilst we relax with a coffee. Watching it in the evenings would feel a bit teenage to me!

RiddleyW · 18/12/2019 16:19

We don’t have a tv but I do watch tv on a laptop in bed quite often!

Babyg1995 · 18/12/2019 16:23

I did but don't now but want one again in the bedroom.
kids have a TV each in there rooms for there consoles .

chocodrops · 18/12/2019 16:24

We do, it's in a cupboard so you can't see it normally. We used to lie in bed, drink coffee and watch Saturday Kitchen on a weekend...... then we had a baby. Now we never use it.

Occasionally we'll curl up and put some Netflix on the iPad but TV stays off 💁🏻‍♀️

SeaViewBliss · 18/12/2019 16:25

Each to their own isn't it? I slink off to watch shit on TV if DH and I don't want to watch the same thing. He has much more discerning taste in TV than me!

I am happy to watch in bed and do so about twice a week. DH never would. If I want to watch something in the lounge he will find something else to do.

coconuttelegraph · 18/12/2019 16:28

I don't but if I wanted to try it I would in the knowledge that it's not a permanent commitment.

ShinyGiratina · 18/12/2019 16:29

Not at the moment, but one TV between the four of us has become rather tiresome.

cleowasmycat · 18/12/2019 16:31

I love going to bed early and watching TV. I figure I might as well be laying in bed alone watching the TV rather than heating the whole house to sit on the sofa.

lifeisgoodagain · 18/12/2019 16:32

Used to , got rid once the iPad was invented ... anyway got better things to be doing in bed😁

fussychica · 18/12/2019 16:58

No never had one in the bedroom despite being quite keen viewers with a fairly large screen TV. No tech at all in our bedroom, always leave our phones elsewhere too.

Parker231 · 18/12/2019 17:00

No - never. There is one in the living room and one in what use to be the playroom before DT’s grew out of it.

busyweeks78 · 18/12/2019 17:02

I do but don’t watch it before I go to sleep.

anotherweenamechange · 18/12/2019 17:03

I’d love one but I know I’d end up just being in bed all the time I was at home if I got one.

MistleToeSucker · 18/12/2019 17:04

yes and I love it

though when we put the house on the market, the estate agent did the whole 'bet you have fun with that tv in your bedroom, nudge nudge wink wink' and I think he honestly thought we were sat there watching porn or something Hmm (I said wait till you have kids matey)

TeenPlusTwenties · 18/12/2019 17:04

Yes we do.

I use it for watching programmes from 10-10:30 (like The Apprentice You're Fired) whilst getting ready for bed/in bed so when they are done I just turn off TV and go to sleep.

Also used if ill, and if DH out for the evening.

WWlOOlWW · 18/12/2019 17:10

Don't have a TV but watch films all the time on my iPad. Never watch the TV downstairs, I always get into bed when I want to watch TV.

Kids didnt have a tv in their rooms till they turned 16.

I always read before I sleep so dont fall asleep into of the TV.

BarbedBloom · 18/12/2019 17:22

Yep. We like watching movies in bed but I have rheumatoid arthritis which leaves me bed bound sometimes, so nice to be able to watch a film. We don't use it much but the option is there
