56 min 25 sec ... woah. That's a 'I fucking hate you, don't ever touch me again shrug' if ever I seen one!

Poor Catherine, she seems lovely 😢

You are so modest @DoTheHop :) Nothing like blowing your own trumpet.

I often give DH the elbow - metaphorically- if he touches me like that at what I consider the wrong moment.

It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with their or our marriage.

FGS- some people have too much time on their hands to be posting such trivia on MN @christmasandcounting Don't you have some wrapping or something to occupy yourself? :)

SirChing · 17/12/2019 18:35

DoTheHop - most of us CAN read body language as well as that. It isn't a superpower! What lots of us are saying is that the fact Catherine showed "argh, get off" body language, says nothing about WHY she felt like that.

It could be a myriad of reasons. Marriage in trouble? He made her jump? Unwanted PDA in public? Who the hell knows?

astralweaks · 17/12/2019 18:36

PortiaCastis

Yep if it was Meghan the gutter would be clear as all the muck rakers would be out in full force scurrying and grabbing for a titbit of gossip they could bitch about at someone else's expense

You sound as if you are spoiling for a fight. Confused

DoTheHop · 17/12/2019 18:38

@JinglingHellsBells Haven't you got some cookies to bake?

DoTheHop · 17/12/2019 18:39

@SirChing So you agree it was a 'GET YOUR FUCKING HANDS OFF ME' moment then?
As I said, the Why is for speculation. The body language is as clear as day.

SirChing · 17/12/2019 18:45

@DoTheHop - It was definitely an "argh no, don't touch me" move. But that could be because he accidentally tickled her, made her jump or anything.

The vast majority of us have already acknowledged that it was a "get off me" gesture, so I am not really sure what is in dispute.

As an aside, the poster who said about whether there was any wrapping to do was directing her comment to the OP, not you, so the cookies comment sounded mean in light of that.

DoTheHop · 17/12/2019 18:49

It was mean of me but....... If she can castigate an OP for starting a thread, I can similarly respond to her for replying to a thread.

DoTheHop · 17/12/2019 18:51

I'm sure in polite circles the language in her head was 'please don't touch me right now William dear'. But translated into normal speak, it was very much a 'get your hands offa me you prick' moment.

DoTheHop · 17/12/2019 18:52

It was the instantaneous nature of the shrug, where her body actually belied her. That's what's most fascinating.

Jumpi · 17/12/2019 18:59

DoTheHop your post reads like it was written by a competitive springer spaniel.

DoTheHop · 17/12/2019 19:09

Jumpi, dogs can't type.

DoTheHop · 17/12/2019 19:12

I feel I'm more of a terrier.

madcatladyforever · 17/12/2019 19:15

I'm not a pro = I would never be able to hide my rage.

MaButterface · 17/12/2019 19:20

Not a royalist and I think Katherine is lovely. She's definitely more confident compared to when she just got married. And thank goodness there isn't any woe is me in the documentary.

LittleSweet · 17/12/2019 19:26

So Donald and Melania...

Bluerussian · 17/12/2019 19:56

I don't usually bother with this sort of thing but really wanted to see the clip - there are loads of them on youtube and not one of them will play for me! I just get a little circle going round and round. I'll keep trying.

However I doubt the gesture meant anything. Things like that usually don't.

DingDongSchadenfreudeOnHigh · 17/12/2019 20:02

So Donald and Melania...

The mutual adoration just shines through, LittleSweet, as I'm sure you'll agree.

All of those times she ducks out of the reach of his tiny, sweaty little paws are obviously because she doesn't trust herself not to shag him senseless on the steps of the White House in full view of the Great American Public.

CornforthWhite · 17/12/2019 20:13

Very noticeable. What a shame.

DoTheHop · 17/12/2019 20:16

@CornforthWhite
You've managed to succinctly say what I feel.

It's not my place to comment on the whys etc., but Katherine is absolutely lovely and I feel sorry for her. I don't blame Meghan for decamping to the US, but Katherine is stuck with heirs.

Clawdy · 17/12/2019 20:31

Bluerussian don't go on youtube, just google : "Katherine and William shrug Daily Mail". That's if you can bear to Google Daily Mail! Grin

Littlemeadow123 · 17/12/2019 20:44

@caledoniahasmyheartforever

You do know that this is all just rumours dont you. There is no definite proof that he has cheated. The info provided on gossip sites usually has as much evidence behind it as the rumour that dogs can't look up does.

Ballstothisdotcom · 17/12/2019 21:18

I watched it and saw it as a ‘now isn’t the time’ move but not in a get the fuck off me type way.

I thought they seemed pretty natural together, she always seems quite nervy which I think is why she uses her hands so much when she speaks.

LittleSweet · 17/12/2019 21:43

DingDong 😆

heath48 · 17/12/2019 21:46

I think some of the nutters on this thread need to rewatch the clip.He had ALREADY moved his hand when she moved.Trying to make a drama from a non-event.

@DoTheHop,I imagine what you know about so called body language could be written on the back of a stamp.

ScreamingLadySutch · 17/12/2019 21:46

PW is quite camp, isn't he
