What did William do to her? A Berry Christmas

56 min 25 sec ... woah. That's a 'I fucking hate you, don't ever touch me again shrug' if ever I seen one!

Poor Catherine, she seems lovely 😢

I thought it looked like she started moving as he put his hand out towards her and it was just unfortunate timing.

OlaEliza · 17/12/2019 10:52

Just watched again, he was touching her before the shrug. There was no annoyance on her face though.

CoatTails · 17/12/2019 10:53

I thought they came across really well, particularly in the ‘roulade’ bit. Lots of laughing and joking.

I’m in the public eye a bit and I HATE it when DH touches me in public. Our relationship is private iyswim and not for when I’m ‘performing’, even when he’s with me.

Will and Katherine hardly ever touch in public and I wonder if it feels the same to them? A definite split in ‘work’ time and ‘home’ time?

TanselleTooTall · 17/12/2019 10:55

Gotcha.
I don't think it's repulsion IMO, it came across as she was in good spirits and was wiggling somewhat as she's in conversation and it coincided with William reaching his arm over.

DingDongSchadenfreudeOnHigh · 17/12/2019 10:58

Video unavailable for me - and now I'm agog with nosiness.

KurriKurri · 17/12/2019 10:59

She was smiling and just turning on her seat, totally unremarkable unless you are scouring the film in desperation trying to find something wrong.

If anything was the matter it was probably 'not bloody Luke Evans again, how many times do we have to listen to his warblings ?'

Skyejuly · 17/12/2019 11:00

Just looked like she was moving!

SirChing · 17/12/2019 11:01

They are working. It Would be totally inappropriate for them to be loved up in public.

Also, all this stuff about him having an affair. If he did, he isn't the first and won't be the last. Maybe Catherine was pissed off at who it was with rather than the fact that he had meaningless shags elsewhere. Not everyone feels about infidelity in the same way!

DingDongSchadenfreudeOnHigh · 17/12/2019 11:02

I don't think it was revulsion, either.

Election2019 · 17/12/2019 11:02

I don’t think the affair is made up. I have a very trustworthy friend who is very well positioned to know, and who is adamant.

The media abroad has not been restricted in what it can and cannot publish, so there are many who do not live in the UK who will be much more aware of the rumours than others.

Skyejuly · 17/12/2019 11:06

I don't believe he did. Not all men are like that

FilthyBiscuit · 17/12/2019 11:09

Isn't it a thing that William and Kate don't touch in public? I'm not sure if it is something they have agreed or the palace but it's why they never hold hands in public like Harry and Meghan.

Span1elsRock · 17/12/2019 11:11

If they're anything like DH and I, they'd have had a blazing row in the car on the way there - her yelling at his faffing and him yelling at how long her hair took to style Grin

I thought their body language looked very uncomfortable in places, but then I can imagine they were trying a little too hard not to be compared to H & M.

Election2019 · 17/12/2019 11:14

It’s interesting that the link above and also the links in various media outlets that reported this have all stopped working. I suspect the Royal Family’s PR Team is very quickly removing all online evidence. This thread will also probably go soon.

Cohle · 17/12/2019 11:19

It was broadcast on the BBC last night, how exactly do you think Royals are going to "cover it up"? Their PR team aren't time travellers. Hmm

CoatTails · 17/12/2019 11:19

Yes I’m sure the palace is combing Mumsnet 🙄

Bogrod · 17/12/2019 11:20

Hmmm. It did look deliberate but I didn’t see revulsion; more “No PDAs dear - we’re not the Sussexes”

ParanoidGynodroid · 17/12/2019 11:21

But they do hug in public, they have done it loads. There was especially memorable hugging at the Olympics (or was it Wimbledon?) Anyway, there are lots of public hugging pics.

Election2019 · 17/12/2019 11:22

If you look Cohle, the link shared on here no longer works. The ones on YouTube have been taken down. There are two newspapers with articles on this and their links no longer work. Obviously it’s been broadcast and people may have recorded it but to try to minimise speculation, active online links will be removed to minimise speculation and let the incident brush over. I work in PR. It’s a very normal process to follow.

crosspelican · 17/12/2019 11:24

I don't know - I'm usually keen to read all sorts of things into stuff like that, but the editing looks as though he ALREADY had his hand on her shoulder, and at some point (i.e. when that edit cuts in) she shrugs him off, so he may well have had his hand there for 20 minutes by the time that clip started. They're not a publicly demonstrative couple anyway (possibly against their "guidelines"!).

I do believe the affair stuff - no reason to doubt it. He has a toxic family and had no modelling of positive, healthy relationships anywhere in his life until he married.

Cohle · 17/12/2019 11:26

Yes because the link in the OP was breaching copyright. It's still perfectly accessible through official BBC sites and other reputable sources.

Oh of course you "work in PR" Biscuit

EpcotForever · 17/12/2019 11:33

I think she thought it inappropriate to do PDA whilst working. They seemed lovely.

SleepwalkingThroughLife · 17/12/2019 11:34

Ouch! Unfortunate timing!

It's there on the iPlayer.

Were you avidly watching it for alleged seeds of marital discord? Get a life
