What cheap processed foods do you love?

Inspired by another thread were people were discussing their love for Vienetta, I was thinking about cheap processed foods I love.

For me it's really cheap cheese and tomato pizza. The kind that costs a quid or less from a frozen food shop. You can see where the pizza sauce has been pipped on by a machine and the cheap cheese forms a solid layer that sometimes slides off when you cut into it. The main flavour is ground pepper.

I love them and I'd choose them over so called 'better' pizzas if I had a choice.

@egghead68 try it sprinkled with strawberry milkshake powder, or powdered butterscotch angel delight...

HeronLanyon · 14/12/2019 23:27

(Now feverishly looking up red box cheesy pasta)

katy1213 · 14/12/2019 23:39

Ooh, Brain's faggots - haven't had those for years!
Corned beef hash has been served twice in recent weeks. Think I've got over it now.

In absolute shock these haven't been mentioned.... Microwave Chicago Town pizzas!!! With fries-to-go. Far superior to microchips, they're more like mcdonalds fries but harder. Lots of salt on them and good grief it's heaven

ShippingNews · 15/12/2019 07:24

Tinned peas. A bowl of them with a bit of Heinz salad cream - a feast fit for a king !

Sintillating · 15/12/2019 07:45

Spam, for it’s over salted crispiness and mystery. It’s changed a lot in texture though, I’m sure it’s gone limp and more jelly-like in texture. Hawaiians have spam down to an art - entire shelves of limited edition flavours.

ShinyGiratina · 15/12/2019 07:48

Chicken Supernoodles.
My DCs adore Supernoodles with mushy peas and grated cheese!

Fruit cocktail. Bonuses compared to real fruit are that it's reliably tasty and doesn't do the unripe to rotten mush game.

I miss Angel Delight. It just doesn't agree with me anymore.

I survived pregnancy nausea for months thanks to Chicken and Mushroom Pot Noodle with a jelly and custard pot for desert. I couldn't put most things into my mouth without triggering violent dry retching, but I think these were sufficiently removed from food to be able to be inoffensive Grin

WinterRose92 · 15/12/2019 07:52

Love the cheap pizza too!
Also I love the Aldi frozen sausages - you get 20 for 99p. Delicious!
Chicken sandwich paste.
‘Ye Olde Oak’ hot dogs in the green tin.
Instant mash.
Tin of ravioli.
Tins of chilli or curry.
Love them!

mossberry · 15/12/2019 07:52

Cheese hamwiches from Iceland. With beans.

Iwanttoseethesea · 15/12/2019 08:01

Chicken and mushroom pot noodle
Banana nesquik
Cheesy balls

Sondor · 15/12/2019 08:01

Super noodles (any kind), with sweetcorn, chilli flakes or sriracha and cheddar cheese.

Veggie burgers made up of mashed potato and chopped veg, this also extends to cauliflower cheese slices.

I only eat either as a very special junky treat.

FloraGreysteel · 15/12/2019 08:18

@Sintillating yes! Hawaiians love spam which is another reason to live this beautiful country/state.

Here's a lovely recipe for the famous Spam Musubi!
