What cheap processed foods do you love?

Inspired by another thread were people were discussing their love for Vienetta, I was thinking about cheap processed foods I love.

For me it's really cheap cheese and tomato pizza. The kind that costs a quid or less from a frozen food shop. You can see where the pizza sauce has been pipped on by a machine and the cheap cheese forms a solid layer that sometimes slides off when you cut into it. The main flavour is ground pepper.

I love them and I'd choose them over so called 'better' pizzas if I had a choice.

My local pound shop, but I haven't checked the date! They also have them on eBay and Amazon.

I've just realised it's the time of year for those cheese footballs. You know the ones that turn to powder as soon as you put them in your mouth? They're beyond rank and I genuinely can't stop eating them when they're open. They must have crack in them or something.

I LOVE chipper chips in heavily buttered cheap white sliced pan - delicious

Ditto crips in white bread with butter, if anyone is travelling from Ireland then tayto cheese & onion are requested

cheap white bread with real butter and raspberry jam..

Cream and jam doughnuts from the supermarket

egg fried rice, chips and curry sauce from the Chinese takeaway

Little (or big!) tubs of sherry trifle - can only get at this time of year

Basically STODGE!

Pepperwand · 16/12/2019 16:41

Yes to Admirals fish pie! With loads of bread and butter.... glorious.

ChaiNashta · 16/12/2019 17:08

Another thing that is discontinued in the UK and Amazon no longer stock: Laimon Fresh Lemon and Lime drink, one of my favourites. 😭

HerBigChance · 16/12/2019 17:12

Cheese balls, those big bags of slightly fluffy lurid orange crisps. Got to ge the Tesco ones.

Not a gram of nutrition in the (big) bag.

Bloody lush.

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/12/2019 17:25

Dream topping, lovely fake stuff.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 16/12/2019 17:30

Dream Topping is amazing stuff

We would have it with sponge fingers that had a very thin layer of jam and dream topping on top (think it would work equally as well with Nutella only my wealthy friends had Nutella when I was young)

I was at a Chinese buffet a wee while back, (The one by the cinema at Braehead), I tried a wee bit of everything, then had three plates of egg fried rice, salt and chilli chips and curry sauce, bloody delicious.

bathplugbonkers · 16/12/2019 20:17

I love a bowlful of tinned mushy peas. Potato smilies in a slice of plastic bread well margarined and folded over. Smash with milk, butter and loads of cheese, especially good after a night out as a student. Crisp (salt and vinegar obvs) sandwiches on white rolls, ditto chip sandwiches. Corned beef hash made with mushed up tinned potatoes and a tin of garden peas. Fish finger and mushy pea sandwiches. Corned beef sandwiches. (all on crappy cheap bread). Yummy

Redpriestandmozart · 16/12/2019 20:55

a big bowl of plain spaghetti pasta with a huge squirt of tomato ketchup mix it up and devour :)

Sammi38 · 16/12/2019 21:04
