What cheap processed foods do you love?

Inspired by another thread were people were discussing their love for Vienetta, I was thinking about cheap processed foods I love.

For me it's really cheap cheese and tomato pizza. The kind that costs a quid or less from a frozen food shop. You can see where the pizza sauce has been pipped on by a machine and the cheap cheese forms a solid layer that sometimes slides off when you cut into it. The main flavour is ground pepper.

I love them and I'd choose them over so called 'better' pizzas if I had a choice.

Skips, or preferably supermarket own brand ones, so I can have a big bag. Skips are usually in a six pack, so I need at least two bags.

Cheap ginger nuts. I think they’re 2 for 80p in Morrison’s. Lovely but very very hard, so they need to be dunked.

The 35p monster pack of Tesco custard creams. No branded ones for me.
Potato waffles and fish fingers.
Tinned peas.
I don't know if you can still get those findus frozen breaded things anymore that seemed to be filled with tinned mushroom soup. Loved them.

Those little potato frittery things with smiley faces. With lashings of TK, obvs

Tinned rice pudding, and all the variations like semolina and tapioca, which taste exactly the same.

Birds trifle! It feels a bit "special" because you have to make all the bits separately out of their little packets and build the layers. But it is extremely cheap and nasty in theory.

@GinFizzExtraGin

Ooh, good shout on the pasta n sauce! I also love the cheese, leek and ham one Grin

RhymingRabbit3 · 14/12/2019 18:49

Since being pregnant I get occasional cravings for microwaved burgers like Rustlers. With grisly burger patty and soggy warm bread. Mmmm

cheeseandchives · 14/12/2019 18:50

Bacon Super Noodles. And I'm veggie.

GinFizzExtraGin · 14/12/2019 18:51

Oh, forgot micro chips! Do they still exist?! I used to have a box every day after school, covered in salt and vinegar. Healthy! 👍

IncyWincyGrownUp · 14/12/2019 18:51

40p cheap white bread (the square sort you’re half convinced is 36% plastic) toasted, buttered, and folded around a processed cheese slice. Bliss!

f00k · 14/12/2019 18:54

I love those kinds of pizzas OP. Sainsbury's Basics cheese & tomato pizzas are yummy and huge. I can eat a whole one, easily.

Sticky Rib Pot Noodle gets my vote.

When I was a teenager one of my favourite shitty dinners was Birdseye chicken curry and McCain's Micro Chips.

Heinz sandwich spread for no reason other than my mother's refusal to buy this throughout my childhood as she thought it was "common".
I chuckle to myself anytime I feel the urge to buy this.

Tartyflette · 14/12/2019 18:55

Long I was going to say Brains' faggots too but thought I might have to explain it so couldn't be arsed

CluelessNewMama · 14/12/2019 19:02

Northernsoullover · 14/12/2019 19:07

Curry flavoured pot noodles. The cheapest ones from Tesco and Asda.

bluechameleon · 14/12/2019 19:09

Frazzles or supermarket equivalent. Tinned spaghetti shapes. Angel delight. This thread has reminded me I used to love the pasta n sauce packets but haven't had one for years.

RedRec · 14/12/2019 19:09

Tinned macaroni cheese. Love it.
