Anyone else devastated by the election result? Please can someone tell me it'll be ok?

And please no Tory gloating, I've seen enough of that on FB.

Parts of the NHS is run by virgin care where I live, so no, I do not believe the tories when they say that the NHS is not for sale.

Parker231 · 13/12/2019 06:46

So we’ve woken up to the news of a proven liar as our PM - well that’s something to look forward to!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/12/2019 06:48

Oh, the Tories SAID the NHS is not for sale. That's ok then, they said so so it must be true.

Politicians lie. Boris lies most of all.

I just hope the next Labour leader restores faith in some people and that we can get Conservatives out in the future.

Frenchw1fe · 13/12/2019 06:49

@lovemenorca are you being provocative?
She's scared of the Tories cutting even more benefits and services when the last 9 years have already pushed low paid single mum's onto the bread line.

Roselilly36 · 13/12/2019 06:50

Waking up feeling very pleased with the results, Labour would have been a total disaster for this country, come on Boris, get Brexit done, as you have promised.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 13/12/2019 06:51

One of BoJo's early proposals was to increase NICs for everyone to fund a tax cut for the wealthy. Thankfully it didn't happen but doesn't that tell you everything you need to know about Tory priorities?

My benefits have already been halted, incorrectly calculated, delayed numerous times. UC has been an unmitigated disaster, that's coming my way.

BoJo repeatedly lies and would throw his mother under a bus to keep power. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. Because he's such a liar, I've no idea what the future holds...and that scares me.

What does Boris mean when he says ‘let’s get Brexit done’?

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 13/12/2019 06:58

Labour would have been a total disaster for this country

People keep saying this. How exactly? Serious question.

Doryhunky · 13/12/2019 06:59

I actually feel physically sick too.

Stooshie8 · 13/12/2019 07:01

Why would you believe a man who demonstrably lies in almost every sentence? Why would the public

Please - it's not a dictatorship every major decision has to be voted on in Parliament / debated in the Lords. I like my MP and assume, if he wants to retain his seat, he'll do his best for his constituency.

Groovee · 13/12/2019 07:01

My heart sank when I heard that 25000 people voted to keep BoJo in his seat. He's not a good PM and after watching celebrity hunted. He's a carbon copy of his father.

I feel sick for the future.

EnglishRose1320 · 13/12/2019 07:05

My ds very nearly died as a result of the cuts of the current government, it's very hard not to worry.

HiyaVera · 13/12/2019 07:08

I don’t understand why everyone is shocked that politicians lie? This is what you’re all clinging on to. It’s a fucking given surely? Clue is in the title.. “Politician”. Doesn’t matter whether it’s Conservative, Labour or Raving Looney Party! They lie!!

Orangeblossom78 · 13/12/2019 07:13

I got PIP under the Conservatives previously DLA and didn't qualify. They helped me (I know this is not the case for some)

Orangeblossom78 · 13/12/2019 07:15

Also the Conservative MP of the time helped chase up my PIP appeal so they are not all bad!

Silvercatowner · 13/12/2019 07:18

My friend messaged me from the US: "you've got one now".

Yes. We have. Fuck.

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 13/12/2019 07:18

Whatever your political leanings, can we just accept the result as it is and just get on with things. Enough of the mud-slinging and insults.

Chosennonetosurvive · 13/12/2019 07:22

We will get increasingly more like the US. A hard Brexit will bring about harsh times, at least at first. More crime on the streets due to poverty. I find it worrying.

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 13/12/2019 07:25

DH just told me about a colleague of his who voted conservative because when they took over back in 2010 there was all that in the press about a note left in the chancellor's office saying 'there's no money left hahahah'.
Her entire vote.
On that news story.
I despair.

Thescrewinthetuna · 13/12/2019 07:28

It won’t be OK

eyestightshut · 13/12/2019 07:30

What worries me? Knowing that a Conservative victory opens the door to creating a two-tier healthcare system, continued underfunding of our schools and cutting away at the support network of benefits for the poorest in society.

CripsSandwiches · 13/12/2019 07:30

Yes, what exactly are you scared of? What Tory polices have indicated to you that you will “suffer”

Under the Tories there's been wage stagnation and increased food prices. Investment in the NHS has never been so low and the need to use food banks has massively increased. OP is actually living this life don't patronise her by telling it's fine and theres no problem.

underneaththeash · 13/12/2019 07:32

It didn't happen though OP. How is that a good example of anything?

Fishcakey · 13/12/2019 07:34

For gods sake! The Left are so blinkered. You are not all going to die. Get a grip!

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 13/12/2019 07:35

@underneaththeash because the very fact that he even considered it for a microsecond and thought it a fair idea scares the hell out of me.
