... I'm thinking like A Christmas Prince which was unexpectedly good!

I know they commission loads at Christmas but are they all trash (bad trash not good trash)!?

I was a season ticket holder, DH still is. We've always refused to have Sky because of how they treat and rip off fans. DH goes to all his team's games and isn't that fussed about watching other teams unless it's on "poor people's telly". Our main gripe is the changing of fixtures for TV. In fact he's gone tonight - they NEVER play on a Thursday! But TV... (in this case Amazon).

Sorry everyone else, as you were!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 05/12/2019 18:38

Not on Netflix (sadly), but look up A Diva's Christmas Carol on YouTube. It's awesome, Christmas doesn't feel started until I've watched it!!

Fucck · 05/12/2019 19:10

Has anyone been to see Last Christmas at the cinema? Any good?

I loved it @Fucck but my sister enjoyed it but not loved it and my friend hated it. It's a marmite film. I hate love actually which has the same feel.Confused

Its advertised as a rom com but isn't really. Once you get over that (and if you love christmas films) you'll enjoy it.

Fucck · 05/12/2019 21:23

@mogtheexcellent I LOVE love, actually! It's my number one must see film at Christmas Grin I think I'm going to have to go and see last Christmas, I can't not. I adore emilia clarke. And Emma Thompson. And Christmas films! It's done deal.

I'm on The Holiday tonight, it's on NowTv though 🎥

jigsawmaniac · 05/12/2019 22:06

I love The Holiday (and esp Jude Law In it). Watch it every year. Going to check out the Christmas Prince films! Think I could start watching these while doing the Christmas wrapping!

doadeer · 05/12/2019 22:07

I saw Last Christmas at baby cinema 😂 I liked it more than the reviews. But it was no The Holiday! Glad I saw it but no desire to see again would be my verdict

Netflix's home for Christmas, not one for the kids but I really liked it .

marmiteloversunite · 06/12/2019 07:39

Last Christmas just made me feel a bit sad. I wouldn't rush to see it again. The decorations/lights were pretty though.

Simonsaysitschristmas · 06/12/2019 07:51

Another vote for Angela’s Christmas - cant wait to watch it again this year

JMAngel1 · 08/12/2019 08:53

@youwillbepk
I just watched Home For Christmas - it was wonderful - the lead actress was a revelation.
Who do you think was at the door at the end?

Fucck · 08/12/2019 10:35

Watched national lampoon Christmas vacation last night which must have passed me by the last 30 years as i don't think I've seen it before. It was moderately enjoyable. Watched on now tv but it's also on regular telly tonight at 10pm on ITV4
Is there just one of these films? I thought I had seen it but none of the one I watched jogged any memory. It was the one with the 25,000 lights on his house, poo gas explosion and the arsey 80s yuppie neighbours.

Dislocatedeyeballs · 08/12/2019 14:45

I watched the man who invented Christmas yesterday ohhhh lovely nostalgic actually good Xmas film loved it all about his Charles dickens wrote Scrooge perfect Xmas film for me

peaceanddove · 08/12/2019 17:00

Surviving Christmas with Ben Affleck was genuinely witty and funny, with a big dollop of Christmassy schmaltz.

doadeer · 09/12/2019 16:45

A Christmas Prince royal baby is hilarious! Amazing full face of make up after labour 😂😂😂

Fucck · 09/12/2019 22:19

I watched it last night, sooo much wrong with it but it was enjoyable 😂

doadeer · 09/12/2019 23:12

Also AIBU that the most unrealistic part for me is that the doctor told her to lie on her back to do the hypnobirthing work - no way! On her side all the way 🤣

Not really the same genre but Nailed It has just dropped a holiday series! Serious binge watching going on here! 👍

GoldenKelpie · 09/12/2019 23:50

Fuuuck Quote ".....I watched one this week that wasn't bad but I can't tell you what it was as it seems to have disappeared from the Trending bit on the home screen.
It was about a male pop star who meets a girl on a train and the train breaks down in the snow so they set off walking to town. There's a Waffle House, an annoying "princess" character, that liked pigs, that gets knocked down a peg or two, a "weirdo" in a tin hat that turns out to be very helpful and wise and some bullies that get their comeuppance. It ticked all the usual schmaltz boxes but there was also biracial and same sex storylines that were told really well without stereotypes. I'd recommend that if anyone can identify it!...."

I watched that one "Let itsnow"!

GoldenKelpie · 09/12/2019 23:53

If you want some real comedy on netflix, a Blackadder Christmas Carol is available too.

Fucck · 10/12/2019 14:32

Love Actually is on ITV2 tonight at 9, that's me sorted!

doadeer · 10/12/2019 16:16

Let it snow is so cute!!! Unexpected. Really liked it.
