If you had £250 to spend on yourself what would you buy?

My parents very generously offered to give me £250 that must be spent on me. (I work very hard for not a lot of money and, as with most parents, most of my money is spent on the DC and house etc.) But I am stuck for what to buy. Their suggestion was clothes but I don't really need anything. I am also trying to be less consumerist/declutter/live more simply etc. So don't want to spend lots of money on clothes I don't need. Although I would be open to spending it on one classic and quality item that would get loads of use (leather jacket??)
I don't need anything for the house. I love books but again don't want to spend the money for the sake of it!
My hair is a bit of a disaster so could use some of it to get highlights etc done. Wondering if the Dyson hair products are all they are cracked up to be and if I should spend the money on something like that to try and sort my hair out?
I would like to spend it on something that is a real treat and not fritter it away.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

I'd use it on a weekend away for the spring. It would give me something to look forward to and get me through the winter months.

Weekend away sounds lovely but would have to take children as well so would cost more than £250 (if it wasn't just going to be hard work!) I am thinking maybe a spa day though with having my nails etc done? Or maybe a Phillips lumea??

I recently got given £100 and I have bought a fancy, reduced electric toothbrush and a nice bookmark. Really struggling to spend the rest so feel your pain!

I would do what I think they want you to and completely pamper myself - hair do and spa day with massage and relaxation. If there's any left then invest in some nice make up

InterstellarDrifter · 01/12/2019 12:20

Put it aside for regular haircuts, a manicure or pedicure throughout the year.

HowToBeAWoman · 01/12/2019 12:21

I’d get some lovely leather boots and some perfume.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 01/12/2019 12:21

Handbag every time for me - Kate Spade / Michael Korrs should both be within that price range?

JuneSpoon · 01/12/2019 12:21

I would get my hair done and buy a bike. You could get a voucher for your hair for 3 months time if you think you might spend it on bits and pieces. I would also buy some cloth sanitary products from an independent maker, not a big company. I think CSP is the next step (in my house) in reducing single use products

HowToBeAWoman · 01/12/2019 12:21

Maybe a massage l, too!

lanbro · 01/12/2019 12:22

Philip's Lumea is a good idea, I love mine!

FanSpamTastic · 01/12/2019 12:22

I would buy a lovely handbag (or two).

DookofBust · 01/12/2019 12:24

I am in the same boat OP. I have got everything I need. I am thinking of paying for a three month membership at a nicer and more convenient gym that allows teenagers to join. That way I could go and take DD with me.

I don't go very much since H left because it means I leave an only child home alone and she doesn't really like that right now. Bit frivolous as I am a member of a club that has a small gym but due to the changes at home I won't rejoin that one in March.

Feelingabitashamed · 01/12/2019 13:14

Really good hair colour and cut with treatment for me please! Or possibly a new ear piercing or very nice piece of ear jewellery if I was being really frivolous

Nearlyadoctor · 01/12/2019 13:46

I’d buy leather boots - DuBarry or Fairfax and Favor. My first pair of DuBarry are 14 years old and still going strong despite constant wear.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 01/12/2019 13:49

A handbag and some perfume, maybe clothes if I couldn’t find a bag.

OverByYer · 01/12/2019 13:52

A hair appointment
A facial
Nice earrings

notacooldad · 01/12/2019 13:53

When I get that money from my DP's I spend it on flights. tThst much can go a long way with Ryanair.

DonPablo · 01/12/2019 13:53

Set of fablou bags, in the navy plus the new purse or a fitbit versa.

Zoidbergonthehalfshell · 01/12/2019 13:56

I had almost exactly this problem - I bought myself a Eufy robovac. It's amazing, I love it! (and vacuum a lot more regularly now than I used to Blush )

HollowTalk · 01/12/2019 13:59

Why don't you go to a really good hairdresser and get it cut, then ask them what you should buy to keep it looking good?

OverByYer · 01/12/2019 14:02

Ooh yes lovely hair products

BackOnceAgainWithABurnerEmail · 01/12/2019 14:10

Do you like massages/beauty treatments? You could have a massage a month for 6 months?

Pipandmum · 01/12/2019 14:13

Garmin vivoActive 3. A fitness watch.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/12/2019 14:27

Allsaints leather jacket
Or a coat and boots

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 01/12/2019 14:28

Flight somewhere.
