Nope, far too early! Tree goes up 12 days before Christmas and comes down 12 days after. 9 month old riotous puppy may reduce this period quite dramatically though!

Greenbutterlfy566 · 29/11/2019 23:01

Ah!

No -a real tree doesn't last a month plus. I love Xmas decorations but part of that is that they're special and for a limited time not fucking 20 November like my otherwise pleasant neighbours do

Ours lives in a pot in the garden the rest of the year and it comes indoors the day after school breaks up and goes back outside on the 6th, or a day or two before that if more practical.

Bluerussian · 29/11/2019 23:11

Blimey, no. it's still November!

MollyHuaCha · 29/11/2019 23:12

Don't be so ridiculous. Tree goes up mid December.

ChristmasArmadillo · 29/11/2019 23:14

Yes.

carbo · 29/11/2019 23:15

No but the urge to get the place decorated is so strong this year. Normally I'm a mid December person. Also.. it feels like it's been November for a year and a half so maybe that's the issue

Greenbutterlfy566 · 29/11/2019 23:25

Thanks everyone

No going to put up 14th Dec

LumpySpacedPrincess · 29/11/2019 23:36

Bought ours this evening and it's going up Sunday, down on the 30th.

Slice a chunk off, drill a hole into the middle and water it loads. Your house, your Christmas. Looked after they can last well for a month

Faez · 29/11/2019 23:37

I usually put it up mid December but after a lovely chilly day I am feeling the urge to crack on. I know the tree wouldn't last though :(

cees · 29/11/2019 23:38

Yes, it's up because the late late toy show is on here in Ireland. So kids all snuggled up watching it. It's real to, as long as it's got plenty of water it does last the whole Christmas season.

backinthebox · 29/11/2019 23:39

Put a real tree up now, and it will look like this by about the 14th December.

BackforGood · 29/11/2019 23:41

No. Far too early.

Thegreymethod · 29/11/2019 23:41

Yes real tree here, went up today and will come down New Year's Day (ish depending on when I can be bothered!) so this every year and it always lasts.

cees · 29/11/2019 23:41

Well I must be the tree whisperer because mine lasts all Christmas. As long as you keep the water level topped up, it's fine.

Thegreymethod · 29/11/2019 23:42

*do 😭

Aragog · 29/11/2019 23:42

Probably get ours next weekend. It will come down before bee year.

Aragog · 29/11/2019 23:43

Bee -= new

DramaAlpaca · 29/11/2019 23:45

Erm, has nobody told you that it's still November...

It's about three weeks too early for a real tree, IMO. Mine won't go up until the 20th at the earliest.

Thehagonthehill · 29/11/2019 23:47

We always get the non drop ones,it goes up a week before Christmas and down on 12 night then lurks in the garden, refusing to drop needles and be easier to chop up and take to recycle.

Ciwirocks · 29/11/2019 23:50

No, way too early. Mine is going up in a couple of weeks but I like it to stay up until after new year. I don’t understand why people take their tree and decorations down before the holiday period is over i.e New Year’s Day

Thegreymethod · 29/11/2019 23:56

@Ciwirocks I agree I like to celebrate NYE with the tree and decs up. I've noticed a lot taking them down Boxing Day and it makes me feel really sad!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 29/11/2019 23:58

Getting ours next weekend but it's being cut over the next two days. The tree farm will have every tree cut by Monday so it'll last longer being watered here than having been thrown in a shed for another two weeks.
