Tesco Xmas delivery slots

Tesco delivery saver Xmas slots open up at midnight tonight for those with delivery saver passes. Anyone staying up to get one?

I got my slot on 23rd but had to pay £5 for the privelage because I only have a midweek saver.
Tesco customer service have a very polite email waiting for them telling them that they will loose loyal customers because the people most likely to have a midweek saver are those on low incomes. I have the same slot week in week out, I can't physically manage an instore shop so have no choice - and there will be 1000s more like me tesco will be quids in.

Have you accidentally signed up to the same day free trial maybe? Does it say you're on a trial plan at the top when you look at the slots page?

I am sure I saw something from
Tesco about the Christmas slots saying if you were on the free trial, you wouldn't get offered a Christmas slot but you could cancel the trial and start paying for it, then you would be offered Christmas slots?

I think it's so you don't just use the free trial to get a slot?

This is what it says on @thenightsky's page. So it's either a glitch or you've accidentally signed up to a free trial of the same day option and it's messing with it

@PinkSpring Yes you can. I was eligible for a free trial as our pass lapsed a while ago but I cancelled it for the paid one so I could get a slot.

The timing of Christmas is dreadful this year. The last day you can order using a midweek plan is the 19th. Nearly a week before Christmas!

Managed to book all my slots needed for December...finally!! Wow that was an effort. Off to bed now. Hope everyone got their slots! Thank you and goodnight.

I was lucky. I logged on at about 23.35 planning to do an ordinary shop whilst I waited, but I noticed slots for Dec 23rd were already showing as available, so I booked one of those. I wasn't expecting it and thought it must be an error and they probably wouldn't accept my payment or something. But it went through and I had a confirmation, all done and dusted by 23.50. I would have preferred Christmas Eve though so I thought I would have another try when those became available but the site crashed for me at 00.01 and by the time it came back all the slots for 23rd and 24th had gone. Good job I looked early!

I think that's the answer. I did sign up over the phone as I had issues signing up on line actually. I told the chap I spoke to that I was specifically pleased to be getting a Xmas slot early and he never warned me that wouldn't be the case. I'm definitely ringing them tomorrow as I feel quite aggrieved.

Mine definitely says 6 month plan.

This is driving me insane it won't take the payment. I've even double checked the cvv number 😡

Can’t get it to accept payment expect slot will time out /I will pass out before it does

I'm giving up. I have pain issues, so it is really difficult for me to go and do a full shop, and I don't drive. If I'm going to have to take a taxi and struggle around a supermarket it is not going to be a Tesco, so they'll lose a good £200 by the time I add in any bits I have forgotten.

I just tried a different payment card (debit card rather then credit) and the payment went straight through - I'd been trying the credit card for 50 minutes with endless error messages. So if anyone is still trying, you might want to swap cards to see if it helps. Good luck and goodnight all!

Had to lose my slot and go an hour later but debit card worked for me too

Got my slots for 23rd and usual Friday one on the 20th at midnight.

Have just gone in now and there's still plenty of later afternoon and evening delivery slots for the 23rd available. I wanted the 8-9am one as family turning up 10ish .

I like PPs strategy of amending date on an existing order. Will try that next year as should be much quicker.

Doesn't look like they're delivering on the 24th even though its an Extra store.

I used to work for the Tesco Grocery Home Delivery Service. Lots of the deliveries go ahead with no problems but sometimes there are a lot of issues. Personally I'd go in store to buy, at least you know exactly what you're getting.

For anyone with all the slots gone. Have you looked at the flexible times as I can see some still showing for those?

Gosh I didn't realise it was a thing that people stayed up to book these. I'm up with baby and after seeing this thread thought I'd have a look, all 23rd and 24th gone! Not a big deal though as 22nd is good as it means I've got time to pop out if something is unavailable

Thank you for the thread... just booked 6pm on the 23rd - exactly what I wanted.

Couldn't keep my eyes open at midnight, got one at 7pm on 23rd, not much left here.

Got mine through around 7 minutes to midnight (sorry, didn't post, too tired!) Have checked this morning and there are still Sunday (22nd) slots here, plus Monday (23rd) evening slots.

Got the last slot on the 23rd 😀
