Anyone else got this horrendous cough and cold?

I’ve had it since Thursday. Coughing so hard I am urging, lungs feel like they’re being squeezed and I can’t smell a thing. I also feel like I’ve been hit by a bus.

Apparently loads of people have this awful virus at the moment. Is anyone else here suffering too and can share a moan, tea and sympathy?

On the upside my boss reckons I lost 8lb. from the sickness phase.

Autumntoowet · 19/11/2019 20:58

Yep. I am 37 weeks pregnant too. 4 weeks of it ffs

FlatheadScrewdriver · 19/11/2019 21:05

Yes, I would like a new face please, or at least the left half which feels double the size from eye socket to chin. I was briefly relieved it was sinuses not dental, and then lost the ability to feel grateful due to not being able to fecking breathe. Urgh.

I had it for three weeks back in October after another cold the previous month. My sinuses were really affected and I felt like I couldn't get well again.

Clutterbugsmum · 19/11/2019 21:59

Yep, just getting over it, and others have said it taken a good three weeks to feel better.

GoldfishGirl · 19/11/2019 23:37

Both my Dad and his partner have it.

He was telling me he hasn't been this ill since I was three and him and Dm, who was also ill, did two hour shifts between them looking after me and my brother, and sleeping. He never moans so it must be awful.

Hope you feel better soon.

JellyBook · 19/11/2019 23:43

Yes. Son who is asthmatic has it, nightmare. Three sleepless nights, bad breathing, fever and vomiting- probably through fever tbh. Through the worst now hopefully, although starting to feel a little dodgy myself, don’t have time to be ill!

Quellium · 19/11/2019 23:47

My child has similar. Coughing to the point of retching, fever for the past 3 days, now complaining of ear ache. She's only 4. I feel so sorry for her. Coming up for a week now. It's going round her class.

ConfCall · 19/11/2019 23:52

I had it - exactly the same - and felt a lot better after five days. It ruined my weekend plans though. Lots of people at work has/have it.

sueelleker · 20/11/2019 23:03

Me too; took 3 weeks to get rid of the catarrh.

itsgettingweird · 22/11/2019 16:39

I've had to for a week and can smell a dead animal up my nose 😂😂
Today I've had horrendous tummy as well which I'm guessing is part of it?

dontlickthelamp · 22/11/2019 16:40

Yep, I feel like crap. My throats killing and I have a high temperature, I hate this time of year.

Thehagonthehill · 22/11/2019 16:44

DD has it,I expect I will.xx

CottonSock · 22/11/2019 16:46

I'm starting to feel more grateful for my horrid cold, ear ache, deafness and mild cough!

wheresmyhairytoe · 22/11/2019 17:41

I work in a nursery and the children have been dropping like flies this week.
Poor things have high temps and the most awful coughs and sore throats.

Just hoping I escape it...

AuntieMarys · 22/11/2019 17:43

Yes! 6th day. Sinuses, mucus, earache, cough. Who knew there was so much liquid in me.
A saline spray helped sinuses and bronchostop is good. But vile.
I am exhausted.

Nat6999 · 22/11/2019 17:55

Ds has missed school today for the third time with it. It keeps on clearing up then coming back, he has only been out of bed 2 hours all day.

Singlenotsingle · 22/11/2019 18:01

Yeah, I've got the Cough. My Ddil didn't want me doing school pickup this week and the other DGM has been doing it. Thank god for us grandmothers eh? Grin

Vebrithien · 22/11/2019 18:03

6 weeks of it here, constant coughing hard enough to retch, massive sinus pressure, bone achingly tired.
But, was given a new asthma inhaler on Tuesday. Within 5 mins of my first puff, I could feel air in the base of my lungs. I'd not realised just how bad it had got. Have been sleeping for 10 hours the last couple of nights, as I've had weeks of broken sleep.
Still coughing some muck up, but nothing like I was.

justlikejasper · 20/07/2020 21:46

Wonder if anyone on this thread tested positive for CV?

PicsInRed · 20/07/2020 21:48

Wowser. That's an eye raising zombie thread. 🤔
Yeah...but no covid here in November etc.

(It was here.)

myomy · 20/07/2020 21:53

Good find.
Wow some of those posts make you wonder especially the poster breadsauce, near the end.

AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 20/07/2020 21:54

Scary! It feels like a whole lifetime ago, November does. Weren’t we all blissfully ignorant then...

PicsInRed · 20/07/2020 22:03

That person with the lack of taste. Another with 6 weeks of it - 3 weeks into Nov.

I was quite ill late October (horribly, horribly painful to breathe) then came down with the most horrendous cough all November. I think it was around Christmas before I was quite right. Bristol.

Bubbletrouble43 · 20/07/2020 22:04

Really makes you think. Placemarking so I can find some of the tips again incase I'm struck with it!
