Is someone weeing on my chair?

So, I know it's highly unlikely that someone had actually we'd on my chair, but I have a mystery that needs solving!

In the past six weeks or so there have been 2 instances of a wet patch appearing on my chair at work that i am sure is wee!

Both times it happened I have noticed when I've stood up i have a mysterious wet patch on my bum cheek and it stinks of urine.

I checked both times to make sure I hadn't wet myself without realising (covering all the bases), and definitely not!

Also checked to see if my scarf or coat could have had an accidental dunk down the toilet and wet my chair, but all clothes (except the bum) are bone dry.

So please help me mumsnetters to identify what on earth this could be, or I will just have to put it down to the phantom pisser, and put up with a pissy patch every few weeks

Not near a water dispenser and pretty sure cleaners don't bring in pets/toddlers but I suppose that's a possibility.

It's happened twice and both times it's been a little patch to the back of the seat that soaks into the back of my pants and smells like wee!

I am away from my desk pretty often as have regular meetings in different parts of the building. And both times it's happened it's been after lunch,.mid afternoon.

Honestly flummoxed but I really hope it's some weird reanimation of a previous spillage rather than a pervy/malicious colleague. Have a new chair so if it does happen again I know it's not the former!

Not close to a water dispenser and am.pretty sure that the cleaners aren't bringing in pets/children, although that could be a possibility.

It's a small wet patch to the back of the chair that soaks into my pants and smells of wee (both times have noticedaround mid afternoon, am.sure if it had been there since morning I would have known)!

I have a new chair now so if it happens again I'll know it's not an old spill.

Sorry for double post, thought the first didn't work!

How do you know it's a new chair?

It sounds like an old stinky chair that someone is spilling their drink over on their way back from the coffee machine.

If it's only happened twice I'd chill.

Call me cynical.

This thread is beginning to smell like one of those long threads where the OP actively responds to begin with but suddenly, when an outcome is expected, disappears with no further news. As though it's a psych test by a student to see how we react.

VenusTiger · 19/11/2019 23:23

@SoapAndFury you don’t happen to have a devils ivy or similar growing above you (on shelf) or plants that need watering do you by chance?... mine seeps water into a puddle on my study floor - took me a while to figure out where it was coming from at first.

Place marking.

Slappadabass · 20/11/2019 03:32

How bloody odd!

I'm going for someone peeing themselves and swapping the chairs, Keep us updated!

As for cameras, you can pick them up cheap as chips on Amazon or eBay.

Trewser · 20/11/2019 08:04

I'm honestly not sure everyone should be discussing peeing tbh.

SoapAndFury · 20/11/2019 08:35

@EggysMom I'm not sure what I can do other than post in response to people's suggestions. I have no idea what is causing the wet patch so I'm sorry if it's not exciting enough for you to believe im not a troll Hmm

I'd have to get a hidden camera.

DaffyDuck473 · 20/11/2019 12:42

I agree with someone swapping chairs with you!

TheReluctantCountess · 20/11/2019 12:53

I think it’s likely to be a drip from the air conditioning - that can smell a bit like wee.

ThePawtriarchy · 20/11/2019 23:20

All this place marking on the thread sounds like part of the problem Grin

CherryBathBomb · 28/11/2019 23:39

Pissed right off that there wasn't an ending to this story.

fridgegrazer · 29/11/2019 10:16
