I haven’t watched the interview, but heard reports of the content. I just find it unbelievable he claims he can’t remember meeting a woman he had his arm around! Despicable. Does anyone believe him?

He just doesn't care, does he?

Well except for 'letting the side down'

queenofarles · 17/11/2019 13:01

Exactly Bertrand , and they went and bought a chalet in Verbier together after that , how many people short of £15k go on to buy ski lodges in Switzerland? Confused.
I find it all so hard to believe.

LarkDescending · 17/11/2019 13:03

According to this old article in The Telegraph, Epstein paid £15,000 in settlement of the £78,000 unpaid wages of Fergie’s former PA, which “then allowed a further restructuring of the Duchess’s £5m debts to take place”.

Why would the PA accept £15k in lieu of £78k?

What did the £5m restructuring involve?

If Prince Andrew has nothing to hide (apart from that he's as thick as mince) he should & needs to be questioned by the police.
No ifs & buts or nice requests.
If Princess Anne can be fined for speeding www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/uk/2001/mar/13/2
then Andrew can be questioned.

The Queen needs to wake up & smell the coffee or maybe she will.
The Monarchy is the most important thing to her & I think she needs to realise that this has the potential to blow the monarchy apart.
I am a monarchist but I'm disgusted by all of this & starting to think that maybe we should get rid of the royal family & elect a president instead.
(Words I thought I'd never say)

ElizaStrawberry · 17/11/2019 13:08

Just listening to it now.

Wait, what, he didn't think that it was appropriate for him to be seen with JE after the conviction, NOT that as a father of girls he didn't WANT to spend time with a convicted sex offender?

Interesting. I think it all boils down to money and potential blackmail.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 17/11/2019 13:18

Sarah Ferguson has always been shit with money. She worked in the US after her divorce for weight watchers and other people to pay off her £5million overdraft.

Andrew probably has lots of dodgy friends who bale him out. That's probably the networking he was doing at Epstein's

I've also heard lots of stories that Andrew is gay or bi.

Whoops75 · 17/11/2019 13:44

Time to get rid of the royal family too many skeletons in the palace.

flowerpowerr · 17/11/2019 13:49

The fact he handed it so badly, with contradictory non sensical answers is on him totally.

For example:

I'm not his close friend, I'm Ghislaines, but I had to go stay with him to tell him I wasn't going to be his friend anymore rather than speak on the phone. I stayed for four days and had a special dinner because it was convenient.

This is so true.

sniffsneeze · 17/11/2019 14:16

Surely there's a dept to protect 'the Crown'. Access to intelligence to stop these things happening - no? Yet Jimmy Saville, Epstein and God knows who else happened. Were they ignored, over ridden?

justasking111 · 17/11/2019 14:19

I think the Royal family historically shrug their shoulders at people the more sensible of us would avoid like the plague. Heavens they used to socialise with far worse historical figures, chop off heads, dispose of wives, this is small beer for them.

Bluntness100 · 17/11/2019 14:19

I don't understand how they were so broke they needed to borrow 15k from Epstein.

You'd think Andrew had other ways of raising it, rather than asking Epstein for it. To have to go to this level, for 15k only shows he must have significant financial problems.

merrymouse · 17/11/2019 14:24

I don't think Epstein just gave the PA £15K. I suspect that is just the only part of the deal that has been made public/is in public legal documents. It's also not clear whether Sarah Ferguson ever made good on her promise to pay money back.

... and then 4 years later they somehow bought a £13m ski chalet.

It's all very, very strange.

LarkDescending · 17/11/2019 14:27

It can’t have been just the £15k. Maybe the £15k was paid transparently to give Fergie a smallish number to own up to, and the £5m “restructuring” was the real deal, done through offshore accounts or whatever.

Reports at the time said that a large proportion of her debts were to US lawyers, not known for their willingness to wait for fees, so it must have been borrowed from somewhere in fairly urgent circumstances when the potential embarrassment of bankruptcy was looming.

LarkDescending · 17/11/2019 14:29

I also don’t believe the PA is likely to have accepted the £15k in full and final settlement of £78k, so perhaps it was a lump sum incentive not to go to employment tribunal or present a bankruptcy petition.

doritosdip · 17/11/2019 14:32

If The Plaza hotel can safely accommodate POTUS, PA would be a doddle.

queenofarles · 17/11/2019 14:49

I know people can easily get into debt, but numerous times? That’s just dumb.
Looks like Fergie made a lot of money but was always living beyond her means, even though she is aware that she cant keep doing that without a big income coming her way.
I read that most of her debts were unpaid staff wages.

Auberjean · 17/11/2019 15:02

Frownette, I think he screwed his face up in a semblance/pretence of innocence and confusion.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/11/2019 15:11

The Queen needs to wake up & smell the coffee or maybe she will

You've got to be joking ... the Queen has spent decades indulges her sons' worst excesses, and 93 seems a bit late to start changing tack

Encyclo · 17/11/2019 15:43

This has to be the end for "air miles Andy" surely? It can't possibly blow over.

Saw a Pic of him sweating at what looked like a nightclub a few years ago on twitter earlier, following his, "weirdly I don't sweat" moment.

Bet you're sweating now Andrew.

queenofarles · 17/11/2019 16:01

The sweating part , I mean did he check with someone if it sounds right?

NumbersStation · 17/11/2019 16:03

Air miles?

He’s going to be lucky if he ever gets to leave the big house again. If he’s lucky he’ll get to schlep out to the front gate to say hello to his friends.

I’m afraid I can just seeing him whizz about the many corridors in Buckie House like the little boy in the Shining.

Passthecherrycoke · 17/11/2019 16:08

I mean a very quick google reveals that a medical condition which prevents sweating is not only very rare, but nothing to do with ptsd

He just wants to remind us all he’s a war hero

SunsetBoulevard3 · 17/11/2019 16:16

I wonder what this positive action is he has to take before sex? Viagra?
