I haven’t watched the interview, but heard reports of the content. I just find it unbelievable he claims he can’t remember meeting a woman he had his arm around! Despicable. Does anyone believe him?

Hilarious reviews. Glad Harry and Meghan will be having a better weekend.

NewName73 · 17/11/2019 11:58

I am wondering whether his lawyers advised him not to condemn Epstein's foul proclivities in stronger terms? In case there is something else which could still come out.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 17/11/2019 12:00

Funny that he was happy to accept money from Epstein for his ex wife yet Epstein was never really his friend isn’t it? An aquaintance who gives a large amount of money to the ex wife of someone he doesn’t know well? It’s so ludicrous it defies belief. He must think we’re as stupid as he is.

I don't know why his face went so odd when the photographer was mentioned, his eyes nearly popped out

Encyclo · 17/11/2019 12:09

He used "Funnily enough" a few times and "weirdly enough" at the start of his answers.

My teenagers used to start a lie off in a similar fashion.

diddl · 17/11/2019 12:11

Why was/is Sarah Ferguson always so desperate for money?

BertrandRussell · 17/11/2019 12:11

Also, he seemed to be behaving as if some of what she was saying was a surprise to him. He and his team would have gone over every single word of every single document with a fine tooth comb!

ElizaStrawberry · 17/11/2019 12:12

He must think we’re as stupid as he is..
You're assuming he thinks at all!

Fannybawshasmerethanme · 17/11/2019 12:13

I watched the interview. Very bizarre, i cant believe he didnt say i really regret having anything to do with Epstein. The thing that confuses me was that i was always under the impression that the rumour was that PA wasnt into women?

BertrandRussell · 17/11/2019 12:13

You’re also assuming he’s stupid....

Fakeflowersaremynewnormal · 17/11/2019 12:14

The papers are being very harsh even the more Royal friendly Mail and Express had damning headlines.I think he was mad to do this interview and his reputation won't recover.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/11/2019 12:14

Surely Brenda is equally complicit in trying to cover this up, no?

So glad somebody else picked up on this; the whole lot of them are rotten to the core, and since the "tone" of an organisation tends to come from the top she's no better than the rest

I thought Emily did an excellent job, keeping it calm and giving him enough rope to hang himself. The only bad omission was any question about Fergie's loan coming around the same time Andrew was supposed to be "breaking contact" with Epstein ... could it be any more obvious that his 4 day visit to NY was actually to discuss this?

When even the usually fawning tabloids have the knives out for a royal there is usually more to come.

No wonder they were cheerfully throwing Meghan under the publicity bus - they have form for sacrificing the "outsider" to protect the family image.

ElizaStrawberry · 17/11/2019 12:23

I wonder what this positive action is he has to take before sex? Viagra?

acatcalledjohn · 17/11/2019 12:27

You'd think the positive action would be to make sure that the woman consents, despite the fact that the experience for the other party is not addressed.

But it probably was viagra.

LarkDescending · 17/11/2019 12:29

Fergie’s loan is really quite bizarre. The idea that Prince Andrew had to go to New York with a begging bowl to raise £15,000 from someone he wanted to break links with is preposterous.

Quite apart from Brenda there are no doubt others in high places who are reluctant to see this story in the headlines. Our own PM seems to be a firm fan of Prince Andrew, to whom he introduced Jennifer Arcuri. (On a tangent, I note that her interview tonight has been oddly scheduled by ITV at 11pm. Her Wikipedia page seems to have vanished, oddly).

Encyclo · 17/11/2019 12:30

Who's Brenda?

C8H10N4O2 · 17/11/2019 12:33

Who's Brenda?

The Queen.

Its long been Private Eye's nickname for her.

Encyclo · 17/11/2019 12:34

Thanks @C8H10N4O2

RhinoskinhaveI · 17/11/2019 12:34

If you want to break contact with someone you send a 4 word text message, you don't partake of their generous hospitality for 4 days 🙄

LarkDescending · 17/11/2019 12:34

“Brenda” is Private Eye’s moniker for the Queen.

RhinoskinhaveI · 17/11/2019 12:35

I think Andrew is doing this to send a message to other people who are embroiled in this

LarkDescending · 17/11/2019 12:36

X-post. Confusingly, to a lawyer Brenda is first and foremost Brenda Hale - Lady Hale in the Supreme Court.

queenofarles · 17/11/2019 12:51

Was it really just £15k Fergie accepted ?

PA surly could have paid that sum, imagine a senior royal and at that time fourth in line to the throne asking for £15k.

If only he said , yes maybe I slept with her and didn’t know at the time the circumstances, At least people would believed him, he sounds like a twat in that interview.

BertrandRussell · 17/11/2019 12:54

Yes, the 15,000 thing is utterly ridiculous. As if Andrew couldn’t come up with that immediately!.
