I haven’t watched the interview, but heard reports of the content. I just find it unbelievable he claims he can’t remember meeting a woman he had his arm around! Despicable. Does anyone believe him?

I am veering , to not believe what this prince said. He kind of knew what questions Emily would put to him, as the interview was recently given the go ahead by the Queen, and had been planned for some time.

I think he would be quite adept at answering questions, personal ones, and would be clever enough to not reveal anything seedy,if all these accusations are true. And it's pretty obvious, that Fergie will try and protect his reputation and royal position.

YouNeedToCalmDown · 16/11/2019 02:38

He is PR'd up to his eyeballs, so every sentence he utters has been carefully scripted.

I believe Virginia. She has nothing to gain from this. If anything, coming forward would make her life far more difficult.

viques · 16/11/2019 02:47

I don't think he has given, or attempted to give , an explanation of why a man with two daughters of his own was not so sickened by the "news" (if news it was!) that his very good friend was a convicted paedophile with a lust for young girls that he still felt comfortable enough to stay in touch, and indeed to make the effort to visit him. Most people, parents or not, would have been so revolted that they would have cut all ties.

To now come out with a half baked (accompanied by a tinkly laugh) apology for letting the honour of the royal family down makes it perfectly clear that he not only knew what Epstein was, but gave him explicit support by continuing the friendship after Epstein's conviction.

I don't believe he doesn't remember Virginia. I think he remembers her very well, and what's more enjoys those memories.

i only believe it in the snese that she meants so little to him or merely was a thing to misuse that they all just blur into one or he didnt look at her deeply enough to think there was a person behind the sexual grabhold to him. the fact he also mentions how "silly" blah blah whatever to be with the bloke that was already convicted is just pitiful.it was almost "oh silly me ive let people down tee hee".if he was sorry there should be emotion and bloody passion and force behind his sorry.said with some anger towards himself.

FromEden · 16/11/2019 03:19

He had Epstein at one of his daughters 18th birthday parties ffs. He full well knew what he was all about. What a disgusting person.

ElizaStrawberry · 16/11/2019 03:38

*He probably didn't even give it headspace."

This. I don't think he has the emotional intelligence to process.

ElizaStrawberry · 16/11/2019 03:39

Bold fail!

Mummyoflittledragon · 16/11/2019 03:44

I feel sick reading this. I’m going to watch the interview with interest.

sniffsneeze · 16/11/2019 03:52

What on earth does he expect to come out of this interview? He hung around with a paedophile after that paedophile was outed.

Dowser · 16/11/2019 04:11

I’m no body language expert but watching the trailer with the sound off is very interesting. Almost like he’s trying to erase the me,Roy from his mind by closing his eyes

Dowser · 16/11/2019 04:12

Memory

dontgobaconmyheart · 16/11/2019 04:35

What a smug and odious pig he is, can do an interview for the tv but won't turn up to do one for the police or assist them when it's requested, over a topic he surely knows a great deal about Hmm. Wasn't he saying the photo was photos hopped a few months ago? Fergie is presumably protecting her only meal ticket- the whole lot of them are embarrassing Confused

JPharm · 16/11/2019 04:40

Surely this interview should have been conducted by the police instead.

GunpowderGelatine · 16/11/2019 08:32

I am generally a royal fan but not Andrew and it makes it hard to support the institution when their crimes are constantly ignored by police. Remember when he couldn't be arsed making a detour into WindsorCastle so he rammed the gates open instead with his £80k Range Rover causing thousands of pounds of damage?

SunsetBoulevard3 · 16/11/2019 08:42

I’d forgotten that. On reflection I think he maybe genuinely doesn’t remember her because she’s one of many. Which is sickening.
No genuine remorse, no concept of how appalling all this is. It makes me so angry. He’ll get away with it too.
Fergie is desperate to do a damage limitation exercise, but either she believes he’s innocent which means she has no concept of who he really is, or she’s trying to whitewash his disgusting behaviour which says something about her moral compass too.

I’m certainly not a fan of Prince Andrew and I think he is a creep for mixing with Epstein.
However Virginia Guiffre was 17 when she claims PA slept with her in Belgravia which whilst young is over the age of consent in the uk. So yes still creepy but is it illegal?
Genuinely want to know.

chomalungma · 16/11/2019 08:47

I'm struggling to see what's honourable about staying at the home of a convicted sex offender, even if he is a friend.

Auberjean · 16/11/2019 08:48

I never once trusted anyone who just said they didn't remember. Or didn't recall. That's an arse covering defence.

lolaflores · 16/11/2019 08:53

Sick that the BBC have rolled over and obliged PA with this nice , cuddly little chat that he thinks will smooth over all the nastiness.
I hope it all blows up in their faves.
Specially after Saville. Anyone with af a brain cell would have been giving this paedophile a very wide berth. Seems they will make an exception

SirHumphreyDrinkalot · 16/11/2019 08:54

Andrew is too arrogant to remember mere people .

Bluntness100 · 16/11/2019 08:59

No, I don't believe this either.

The rumour is he is wanted for questioning by French police, as a seemingly a number of women have come forward to say they were assaulted by him when under age. The British government, approved by the queen have seemingly blocked it. In addition he was supposedly meant to be attending chiracs funeral, but as he was informed he would be arrested on landing in France, he had to allegedly pull out.

I don't know if this is true or not, hence my language in this post, but the fact he is refusing to co operate or speak to any police authorities but only doing a pr interview speaks volumes in my opinion.

IScreamForIceCreams · 16/11/2019 09:04

Met him and worked with BP on a function - creeped me out.

VanCleefArpels · 16/11/2019 09:06

Sayings “I don’t remember this woman” is not the same as saying “I never had sex with anyone Epstein introduced me to”. If he really wanted to put this to bed (as it were) he would have sad the latter. If it were true.....

Etinox · 16/11/2019 09:07

@JPharm “Surely this interview should have been conducted by the police instead.”
Exactly. It’s grubby of the BBC and Matlis to do his PR. Really unimpressed.

roisinagusniamh · 16/11/2019 09:11

Speculation that he did this interview for damage limitation because more scandal is due to emerge.....what a creepy old fool.
The days of the royal hall pass due to status is coming to an end.
Hurray!
