I haven’t watched the interview, but heard reports of the content. I just find it unbelievable he claims he can’t remember meeting a woman he had his arm around! Despicable. Does anyone believe him?

Bottom line is if he is innocent, and has alibis as he says, then it would be better if he submitted to questioning by the fbi, provided the alibi s for checking, cleared his name, and had an official statement put out. That would be the end of it.

The fact he refuses to be questioned by the fbi, and he is saying his lawyers are telling him not to, tells us he is not just hiding something but there are no alibis.

Because you would wouldn't you? Both his alibis can be proven. It would be simple. You'd clear your name immediately. He's refusing fo do any questioning with police authorities, He is only doing this interview with the BBC. He now can't go to the states, and as rumoured France, because he refuses to be interviewed by the police authorities in either country.

Those basic facts speaks very loudly. An innocent man, with alibis, would clear his name immediately.

Exactly @Bluntness100

betaboo · 17/11/2019 06:36

Haven't seen the interview yet, but Twitter and Tripadvisor reviews are absolutely hysterical.

So if he did have sex with these girls, what would he be charged with?
would he go to prison?

EleanorReally · 17/11/2019 06:46

only epstein went to prison,
prince andrew would not go to prison,
why not come clean? but deny being coercive

EleanorReally · 17/11/2019 06:59

is ghislaine maxwell answering questions?

longwayoff · 17/11/2019 07:01

Can't understand why people have determined that Meghan's family are too Jeremy Kyle for the RF, seems like they would fit right in. Would, in fact, raise the bar.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 17/11/2019 07:18

How does one pronounce Ghislaine?

Egghead68 · 17/11/2019 07:22

They’ve been pronouncing it “Gillan”.

TrixieFranklin · 17/11/2019 07:22

Ge-Laine (like Elaine with a "Gey"sound that rhymes with key at the start, like the first half of Geese)

MsTSwift · 17/11/2019 07:29

A very good friend of my fathers was taken to court as a senior 40 something teacher he had an affair with a17 year old pupil. He got off but still it had happened. We were about that age at the time. He assumed his friendship with my dad would continue regardless. Wrong. Dad was horrified and even wrote him a letter explaining why the friendship was at an end. That’s how a decent man behaves in those circumstances especially one with teenage daughters himself.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 17/11/2019 07:35

Thank you Egg and Trixie.

MakeMineALargeProsecco · 17/11/2019 07:35

What a foolish move on his part; I cannot think why on earth he thought this interview was a good idea.

minou123 · 17/11/2019 07:40

Bluerussian
Andrew doesn't appear to have done anything illegal albeit unsavoury if he did sleep with that girl. However I cannot see any reason for him to deny it, he was single and if he didn't know she was coerced, where's the crime?

I can see what you are saying, on the face if it, sleeping with a 17 year old is not illegal, so why the outcry.

I've been thinking about this, and the way I see it, there are 2 questions:

1. Did he do anything illegal? Did he sleep with young girls knowing they were sex trafficked?
2. Is he an arrogant, vile, misogynist, who was quite happy to be friends with a convicted sex offender?

  1. I think Bluntess100 answers this really well at 6.27 today. I agree with her.
  1. YES! I think the interview and his own words prove this true. The biggest example is when he he said Epstein behaviour was 'unbecoming'.
He knows Epstein was a convicted sex offender, but at no point did he show any sympathy for the victims, on fact he said his "acquaintanceship" with Epstein was beneficial to him and he doesnt regret it.
MakeMineALargeProsecco · 17/11/2019 07:41

The newspaper headlines about him this morning are something else!

This really has back-fired on him.

What was he thinking?!

LordEmsworth · 17/11/2019 07:45

I can’t help thinking that it isn’t black and white. Were these girls/women forced to go there ? Were they raped ? If so why wait this long to tell anyone ?

Are you being serious? They did tell people. The police. The police did not help them. When Epstein was prosecuted, he got a deal that meant he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge and was allowed to leave prison every day on "work release". When they told journalists, journalists were leant on by their editors to drop the story. This is all a matter of record and no-one is denying it.

Teenage girls were groomed to bring their friends, who were given money - lots of money - as an inducement. They were befriended then if they wanted out, accused of disloyalty and ungratitude, and guilted into carrying on. They were threatened and sometimes not allowed to leave, i.e. imprisoned.

There is lots and lots and lots of information analysis out there, "well the children could have just said no" ignores the reality of what was going on.

DriftingLeaves · 17/11/2019 07:47

I must have been watching a different interview. Ti me he wasn't "obviously lying". He was confused, arrogant, bewildered by the fuss but not necessarily lying.

I think to him sex with a consent 17 year old is no big deal and he's unable to see the bigger picture. He has a very flawed personalty.

Pizza place should be easy enough to prove from the notebooks of the police guarding him and his diary. I think that was true.

EleanorReally · 17/11/2019 07:47

There are pictures of Trump with Epstein.
What a sleeze, as is Maxwell

SunsetBoulevard3 · 17/11/2019 07:50

What was to stop him going out in the evening to the nightclub? I think the pizza thing was in the afternoon. You don’t go to a nightclub until late anyway. He says Sarah was away but he could have had a babysitter. His daughters won’t remember whether he was out that night.

OP posts:
LynetteScavo · 17/11/2019 07:51

Before the interview I had no idea
.
Having seen the interview I think PA was probably getting acquainted with lots of girls, he presumed the girls wanted to shag him because of who he was, and he'd didn't give a moments thought to who the girls were.

He's been a fool and now he's making a fool of himself.

madeyemoodysmum · 17/11/2019 07:52

True or not true

I don’t even remember every date I’ve been on 20/30 years later so why would he???

SunsetBoulevard3 · 17/11/2019 07:58

Why would Sarah Ferguson fish about him the way she does? A man who has random sex with teenage girls who he can’t remember afterwards ? In what universe does this count as principled? Never mind being mates with a man like Epstein.

OP posts:
DriftingLeaves · 17/11/2019 07:58

Some on here are desperate to believe he was guilty. I don't understand that. Take a step back.

Why do you want to believe an arrogant man was guilty of being involved in trafficking? He really ain't that stupid.

minou123 · 17/11/2019 07:58

SunsetBoulevard3

Completely agree with you.
He used the pizza alibi as a GOTCHA moment, didnt he? Confused
But, what was he doing the rest of the evening? He claims he and fergie had some sort of agreement that when one was away, the other would stay in.
"Funnily enough," I believe he did go to Pizza Express, but I dont believe he stayed in for the rest of the evening.
