I haven’t watched the interview, but heard reports of the content. I just find it unbelievable he claims he can’t remember meeting a woman he had his arm around! Despicable. Does anyone believe him?

I predict Kate or Megan will be pregnant within 3 months to take the spotlight of Andrew.

TurquoiseDress · 16/11/2019 22:14

I've just watched this, very surprised he has done the interview as, rather than putting all the rumours to bed it has just ignited a whole cascade of more questions!

The bit that made me laugh a bit was where describes going to Pizza Express Woking- that he clearly remembers going there with his daughter Princess Beatrice as it's clearly a place he would never be seen dead going to!

FazyLuckers · 16/11/2019 22:14

No i dont believe him, knew as soon as his name was associated with Epstein he was guilty. Im with DarkDarkNight. Because of who he is he will get away with it.

How many more times will we hear/read about the actions of these people in power getting away with despicable, unacceptable behaviour and of course totally denying it because 'they are innocent'??

Absolute disgrace!!!

'unbecoming' tells us that it's all about reputation and appearances, he cares nothing for the trafficked and abused, the fact that he has teenage daughters is not even relevant to him because he considers himself and his progeny to be different species to the rest of us who are mere fodder for the elites

Schwibble · 16/11/2019 22:15

A cover up/PR exercise...if he was innocent he wouldn't have agreed to the interview.

Beatrice and Eugenie must be mortified.

TrixieFranklin · 16/11/2019 22:15

I bet pizza express workings phones will be ringing off the hook!

LarkDescending · 16/11/2019 22:15

She said (on BBC Breakfast) there had been no pre-vetting of questions and I believe her.

NormanSmith · 16/11/2019 22:16

I can barely speak after watching that dear God where to start....🤦

LarkDescending · 16/11/2019 22:16

I think Andrew thought it had gone well - saying at the end how grateful he was for the opportunity.

ssd · 16/11/2019 22:17

I don't. She works for the BBC and they work for the Royal family. He's untouchable and we all know it.

Superfoodie123 · 16/11/2019 22:17

No dont believe one cent of it, find it revolting how obviously he is lying. Does he think everyone is stupid, clearly he does.

Corruption all around, like you would go and stay in someone's home repeatedly if you were just acquaintances.

LarkDescending · 16/11/2019 22:18

She works for the BBC - doesn’t mean she lacks integrity. I knew Emily, albeit long ago, and don’t see any reason to impugn her professional integrity.

merrymouse · 16/11/2019 22:19

“In the navy it’s a pretty isolated business because you’re out at sea the whole time and I was going to become the special representative for international trade and development. The opportunities I was given to learn either by him or because of him were actually very useful.”

Except it's still really unclear how Epstein made any of his money (except perhaps blackmail) or why Andrew couldn't find anybody better to talk to - Maybe a British business person who actually makes and exports things?

Jocasta2018 · 16/11/2019 22:19

I'll be looking at Pizza Express with new eyes next time I walk into town... (I live in Woking & it's on my walk into town).
Think he may have shot himself in the foot with the interview as he could've just kept quiet. There was no need for him to do the interview.
As for his guilt? Where's there's smoke there's fire.
I noticed during all of his denials of meeting the young girls, at no point did he mention the fact that he's the father of two girls therefore it would be abhorrent to him to even think of sex with an underage girl. I thought that it was point he might've made (although he might've been deliberately keeping his daughters out of it).
I'll be buying the papers tomorrow.

ssd · 16/11/2019 22:20

I think Emily is great. But this is bigger than her integrity, this is the Royal family and what they can do.

MadnessInMethod · 16/11/2019 22:21

I think he probably genuinely thinks that went really well.

A quick look at the news sites and readers comments says otherwise.

He shouldn't be involved with any work to do with children now.

RhinoskinhaveI · 16/11/2019 22:24

he thinks the public are just simple peasants who could never see through his clever machinations

SunsetBoulevard3 · 16/11/2019 22:24

I'm still sitting here with my mouth open. If you made a textbook piece of film of an interview with someone who is obviously lying, this is it.
The photo was taken upstairs. A place he's never been, yet he knows it is upstairs.
He has wracked his brain to remember if he ever met Virginia - which one of the many women he slept with/raped was she?
The photo is obviously a fake but he doesn't seem annoyed or put out at all and doesn't seem to want to find out who did it or what their motivation might be
He saw his 'friend' Epstein's wife recently yet, they had 'moved on' and he didn't discuss Epstein with her. Funny that.
He clearly had massages at Epstein's house, yet disputes having had a foot massage even though someone saw him.
He was just staying a day or two on more important business and found Epstein's house convenient.
He made a special effort to tell Epstein their friendship was over after four years of no contact, then stayed in Epstein's house for several days and attended a dinner party.
No real sign of remorse, no sign at all of disgust. No shock, no horror.

Still friends with Epstein's wife apparently.
He didn't know that Epstein had been charged with sex offences until some time afterwards.

This man is beneath contempt. The lying is worse than his actions in my view. Why on earth would he make this interview and how on earth does he think it serves him?

If ever there was a time for a Republic it is now!

I loved the backhanded complement. 'You dragged it all out of me, but thank you very much for the opportunity' at the end.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 16/11/2019 22:25

Oh and he doesn't regret the association with Epstein because it served his purposes and he made lots of useful contacts.

paradyning · 16/11/2019 22:27

And I love that he shook his head when asked if he would testify. Can't wait for professional body language experts to analyse it.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 16/11/2019 22:28

That was actually the only bit when I thought he looked genuinely a bit shaken. He obviously doesn't relish being called to give evidence.

OP posts:
Bluerussian · 16/11/2019 22:29

He didn't strike me as lying. He didn't have to do the interview, could have just maintained silence as he isn't being accused of anything criminal. I did feel uncomfortable watching the interview, fidgety even, was glad when it was over. Then I put on BBC news - ha! - the interview was being dissected on that.

There are a couple of things that don't add up to me, I just hope the truth comes shining through whatever the consequences for anybody but there really is no point in speculating.

lyralalala · 16/11/2019 22:30

I'm watching it at the moment and whoever is in charge of his PR must be dying at his attitude

He "mututally agreed" with Epstein that they couldn't be seen together as it was inappropriate. Not "I went there to tell the dirty perv that I was disgusted with him and couldn't be his friend anymore", but so much more careful than that.

Plus he stayed there for FOUR days because it was "conveniently placed". I mean, I once stayed with my best mate who had a creepy boyfriend when I was going to a funeral, but that was because I could only afford a hotel OR the train...
