Are there any singers/actors/tv presenters whose continued success you find utterly baffling?

I’m just watching TOTP from 1988 and Kim Wilde’s on.

I’m sure she’s a lovely woman, but fuck me, the lass couldn’t sing. Or dance. Or mime.
And yet, she’s still doing the rounds, all these decades later.

I’m not sure if it’s me that’s missing something, so which acts leave you confused at their success?

Kiera Knightly. She's perfected her one character and she's sticking with it.

Amanda Holden. Her voice grates on me. I don't like to say bad things about people and she looks great but also very normal in the face and as far as I'm aware has no skills. I think she was just Les Dennis' girlfriend?

Caroline Flack. I’ve never been able to quite put my finger on it. But plenty of other people I speak to say the same. We just don’t ‘get’ her

I don't understand James Corden's success. Why does the U.S. love him so much?

Ben Fogle. What is the point of you.

Jonathon Ross. He's just not funny!

Madonna and Kylie...are both gay icons

Not so sure about Madonna these days. Especially not after that hideous exhibition at Eurovision. Kylie though is one of the immortals.

Yes, Kylie can’t sing, can she? A lovely person, by all accounts (DH’s cousin works with her) but again, I’d be crippled by impostor syndrome.

Kristin Stewart, there’s another one. She doesn’t even try to act, does she? I’ve no idea what her voice sounds like.

Cheryl Tweedy. She's not that nice, or charismatic, and not a talented singer or entertainer. A testament to what being painfully thin can do for you.

I actual like Rylan, saw him on Room 101 and he was very funny and articulate.
