I’m just watching TOTP from 1988 and Kim Wilde’s on.

I’m sure she’s a lovely woman, but fuck me, the lass couldn’t sing. Or dance. Or mime.
And yet, she’s still doing the rounds, all these decades later.

As far as presenters go, I am absolutely not a fan of Amanda Holden.

Ben from CBeebies. I’m quite fond of the wee soul but he’s nothing like Evie or Rebecca or Andy who are always turned up to 11. I wonder what his audition was like?

Well, I think he’s mediocre at best, but that’s not the ‘WTF is he successful?’ issue here.
It’s more his long history of racist thuggery and violence that’s the problem.

Unfortunately, being an utterly repulsive human being doesn't necessarily stop anyone being famous and successful. We wouldn't have Trump as president if it did.

I don't think reality stars should be nominated for a list of baffling successes. They're not supposed to be there on talent; definition of a reality star is someone who is famous due to a combination of sheer chance and having enough memorability (not necessarily in a good way!) to make it to the second or third appearance on TV. After that, their fame just snowballs down the hill, picking up more snowy fame with every moment, till the vacuous little wastes of space are famous for being famous!

That Amanda Holden is considered an arbiter of talent is a very sad indictment on our societal standards.

But then Prince Andrew is considered an ambassador for trade and Paul McCartney is considered a human being, so satire really must be dead...

You're probably right.
Sometimes I wonder who is advising "stars" of what is/isn't a good idea. Does their agent or promoter consider how they're going to come across, whether they might need some time out of the spotlight or professional help? Or are they just in it for the ££££ (or maybe they do, and the client doesn't listen to them?)

Ant and Dec. I'm afraid I have to agree with Piers Morgans failure to comprehend this pair's enduring status as national treasures. How they can win best presenters for the seemingly 100th year in a row says a lot for the quality of presenters on British TV atm

He doesn't join in with other panellists etc. He just sits there thinking of not-funny one liners with his try-hard messy hair 😠 I reckon he's quite a self-absorbed person who thinks he's hilarious. And the faces he pulls! 😠😠😠

I like Rylan on the radio. I think Sophie Ellis Bextor is very creative, and does her own styling rather than having it done by committee for her. I’m not an Amanda Holden fan but a friend met her in real life (admittedly a few years ago) and was bowled over by her.

Jimmy Carr - met him and he’s unpleasant to say the least.

Romesh Ranganathan is just not funny, he swans about bringing his mum on round the world trips /freebies, no idea how he is on tv . I watched a travel show where he was in Colombia and there was someone doing street art , his spray painting all ran into the art work of the man who was actually painting , really messing it up and he just sniggered thinking it was funny, unbelievably rude!

Also never got the love for screechievvoiced talent by pass that is Madonna and Kylie
West life were awful on strictly the other night the two who don’t usually sing tried and it really explained why they should go back to dancing and miming!

Shouts down others’ on Loose Women rather than debating in an intelligent way. Have no idea why she is on that show anyway. Does she really represent the views of a younger generation? Good God I hope not....
