A couple of days ago a friend told me my hair looked lovely. It was just freshly washed and pinned up in a casual twist

sunshineandshowers21 · 26/10/2019 23:29

i’ve had a few today, at a close family member’s wedding. i had my hair and make up professionally done and a gorgeous jumpsuit so that’s probably why! 😂 the nicest compliment i got tonight was from a friend of the family who was watching me with my kids who came over and told me i was a great mum and that i should be very proud of my little ones. i nearly cried! compliments about my kids always mean more to me than ones about myself.

HearMeSnore · 27/10/2019 00:21

Tuesday. DH said my hair looked nice.

It didn't. It was tangled and windblown because I'd given my bobble to DD when she'd lost hers and needed a ponytail for dance class.

He never compliments me when I actually do look tidy. (But it's kind of nice when it's unexpected.)

JaneJeffer · 27/10/2019 00:40

A man on Instagram said I was beautiful after I commented on something Grin

managedmis · 27/10/2019 00:59

Boss mentioned in an email to someone else that I was quick - quite pleased with that really.

Oh yeah, some wombat on LinkedIn in Arizona or somewhere said he liked my profile Confused

Partner said he loves my body

OctoberLovers · 27/10/2019 01:05

I was having a mammogram last week . The technician said " You've got really youthful breasts" . Not bad at 60 !

AProblemHasOccured · 27/10/2019 01:04

Had a smear done during the week. While the nurse was digging around she said 'the neck of your cervix looks nice and healthy. Lovely!' Oh, um, thank you I guess Grin

Shannith · 27/10/2019 07:06

"You scrub up well!" Said with surprise by a nice neighbour who normally only sees me in dog walking gear.

It's true. I do. In comparison anyway.

LollipopViolet · 27/10/2019 09:14

I think it was last month after a competition, a few people said I skated well. I don't get many tbh, unless they're skating related.

ChocoChunk1 · 27/10/2019 09:24

Helped out a work mate who was having a bad day. He said, "Thank you for being awesome." I was immensely flattered.

SimonJT · 27/10/2019 09:27

“Oh aren’t you handsome”

Said by the person who is the closest thing I have to a Mum, so it doesn’t really count. Plus she followed it up by saying “Do you think you could clear out the guttering?” 😂

SugarThreat · 27/10/2019 09:35

I went out with my younger sister last night to celebrate her birthday. The bouncer at the club looked at my ID and said "ohh you've aged well". I am in my 20's 😟

RugbyTeaHelp · 27/10/2019 09:37

By a long standing male friend (more a work acquaintance) who has always been very indifferent to me last night. He told me he thought & had always thought I was beautiful. I was very shocked 😮

TooGood2BeFalse · 27/10/2019 11:35

My DS7 said I was the best mummy in the world.

My friend said I was such a good mum and she wanted to be like me when she had kids.

Howeverrr it's my birthday and everyone is being lovely to me Grin

fantasmasgoria1 · 27/10/2019 11:45

My fiance compliments me daily by telling me I'm beautiful but that's a routine thing. Yesterday my dd who is in hospital was showing some of my pictures around she did not say how old I was (44) and told me that everyone said I was really beautiful and thought I was 35/36! I said no way! you are embellishing it and she said nope straight up and she doesn't lie! Well the outside of me is great but the inside is crap (sciatica, grinding vertebrae, etc).

elephantoverthehill · 27/10/2019 12:00

Happy birthday TooGood

foxyknoxy30 · 27/10/2019 12:04

My husband last night,I was telling the kids I used to have a nice figure (many moons ago) and he said you still do !

Cocolapew · 27/10/2019 12:10

A woman told me yesterday my hair colour was lovely, I've let it go grey and it looked particularly sparkly yesterday.

Time40 · 27/10/2019 12:11

Two (female) uni students stopped me on the street on Friday to say they loved what I was wearing. That was surprising, as I'd guess I'm about the age of their mums.

keepingbees · 27/10/2019 12:14

I always do my hair and make up and wear nice clothes. I never get compliments Sad

MadamBatty · 27/10/2019 12:18

At the gym earlier, 2 women told me I had cracking thighs

Ponoka7 · 27/10/2019 12:20

For tgose that don't get them, giving complements can be a minefield. So it doesn't mean people aren't giving you them, mentally.

Paperyfish · 27/10/2019 12:35

My boss told me I’d given an outstanding interview. Got offered the job! Pretty pleased with that.
