Took both kids clothes shopping never again
4 year old and 16 month old
When the baby was due a nap
And she started, had to be held, crying etc the usual
Anyway managed to get what I needed and the cashier said something along the lines of

'Wow fair play dealing with all that AND your hair looks beautiful'

Made my day

queenbodenica · 26/10/2019 20:56

These are all lovely!

Told that my dog was 'the bossest dog in the park' (dog was wearing her jumper to stop her getting covered in mud and I think DDog looked like a prat - and therefore I looked like a prat too) so that was a lovely compliment to me!

saraclara · 26/10/2019 20:59

My friend ended the character reference he did for me (for a volunteer position working with people in desperate straits) with:
"there's no-one I'd rather have on my side in a difficult situation"

FrankenCat · 26/10/2019 20:59

My ndn just told me I look better than I have done in months. I had a hysterectomy two days ago. But in fairness I look really well today.

EmmiJay · 26/10/2019 21:03

I've had three this week. On Tuesday I overheard two school aged girls say 'shes actually so pretty' turned to see who and they were looking at me. Tuh! Then a lady in Boots told me I have fantastic skin. Tuh tuh! And yesterday a silver foxy man told me he 'loved my walk'. That one was weird but I'm taking it. adjusts crown

LuckyAmy1986 · 26/10/2019 21:13

DH earlier randomly said “wow your eyes are just so beautiful”

Lobsterquadrille2 · 26/10/2019 21:15

At this morning's meeting someone I have only met a few times said I was "looking really well". I'm sure that I've put on some weight and basically pounced on her with "in what way?!" - she looked bewildered and said "your skin looks good ...".

I felt a bit stupid.

bearfood · 26/10/2019 21:22

'Don't know what I'd do without you mum, you're the only person I can talk to about this sort of stuff'. Made my heart burst from my 17 yo DD, who has a newborn baby and is a fucking amazing mummy herself ❤️

Titsywoo · 26/10/2019 21:24

Something from dh today I guess. Can't remember what but he compliments me every day - usually several times.

savingforsomewherefarfaraway · 26/10/2019 21:24

@SoundofSilence 😂 he sounds hilarious!

My last compliment from my 2.5 year old
'Mummy, I like your socks'

Grammarist · 26/10/2019 21:25

Bra-fitting woman at M&S told me I had an absolutely stunning figure. I've had a few years of seriously health problems and have been trying to sort myself out. Made me feel so much better, bless her.

milliefiori · 26/10/2019 21:31

Put on a new dress three days ago and both DTeens (boys) said, 'Wow you look absolutely amazing.' DS1 said it about four times. DH said, 'You look nice,' in a mild voice which is all I'll get from him Grin

mawi · 26/10/2019 21:31

We are in the middle of decorating, I have a stomach bug and my arthritis has flared up so generally feeling and looking like shit and my dh tells me I am understated brilliance. If I wasn't so sick he would be in for a good night but instead I am in bed after throwing up and he is downstairs enjoying a beer I assume, which he thoroughly deserves.

milliefiori · 26/10/2019 21:32

A cool young woman stopped me on the stairs of an art gallery the other day and told me she loved my dress. That was the first compliment I;d had in ages. Then another one from DC for a different dress. I should wear dresses not scruffy lounge wear more often.

abbey44 · 26/10/2019 21:40

Umm, about fifteen years ago I was told I have "kind eyes". I think that's the sort of thing you say about a horse, or when you absolutely can't think of anything else nice to say about someone. I don't think there's been anything since then. Still, I guess that's better than nothing, right...?

DearTeddyRobinson · 26/10/2019 21:52

My work friend told me I looked great on Thursday 😊. I've recently lost 2 stone and it shows on my face I think

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 26/10/2019 22:02

My gyn told me I had a youthful cervix ( I am 57).
And DS told me he loved my sweet 'Hängebäckchen' (hanging cheeks = yowls I think that means).

Bobthefisherghoulswife · 26/10/2019 22:04

This morning "your dog is so well behaved"

Pinkiii · 26/10/2019 22:18

@StrawberryFizz26 cantu curl activating cream. Its amazing!!

Witchofthenorth · 26/10/2019 22:20

Today at work, "your pasties are the best I've ever tasted!!"

I'll take any compliment me 😂

Toojudgypants · 26/10/2019 22:27

That I was exceptional at my job and an inspiration. I’ve done my job for over 10 years and nobody has ever even hinted that I was okay at it.

My ds told me I was the best singer in the whole world

VaperCut · 26/10/2019 22:46

A df told me yesterday I have a nice nose and she's found herself admiring it many a times Confused I've always hated it and believe it's too big for my face. Maybe ive finally grown into it!

scrivette · 26/10/2019 22:52

From DH 'I am glad you are you!!!!' After spending a few hours at a museum with the children and loads of (apparently annoying) Mum's.

From DF 'I am glad you speak nicely, makes me so proud!' (Random but nice!)

Queenoftheashes · 26/10/2019 22:56

Cute / good nose
