SPOILER ALERT

ET: The bathroom scene, where ET and Elliot are on the floor and Elliot gets taken away, with ET screaming for him to come back 😢😢 And of course when ET is found all grey and dying in the water, then when he temporarily dies and obviously the ending 😭

Forest Gump: When nobody lets young Forest sit down on the bus and then he sees Jenny for the first time 😥 When Jenny dies "Every night we read a book and he's so smart Jenny. You'd be so proud of him" 😭😭😭

Atonement: The ending, when Bryony explains the reality 😢

Theory of Everything: The croquet scene. There's no dialogue, but it's heart breaking. When Stephen has had his operation and can no longer talk. The look they give one another 💔 Also when Jane breaks up with Stephen "I have loved you. I did my best" and he just looks broken and they cry together 😢

The Reader: When Michael sees Hannah in court and realises she's actually illiterate after she refuses to give a sample of her hand writing and then her sentence. When Hannah hears Michael's voice on the recorder and of course the ending 😭😭😭

I have so many more, including Disney and Pixar Blush but I'd be here all day!

Over to you...

Oh I thought of another!

Seeing lion king in cinemas was the part when Mufasa died (full on tears in the middle of the cinema - I wasn't the only one Blush)

Autumnchill · 04/10/2019 20:24

Dr McDreamy in Greys dying and O'Malley signing it's him in the hospital bed as he's unrecognisable.

The West Wing when Josh is with the therapist going through the shooting

Crabonastick · 04/10/2019 20:25

Haunting of hill house where mr Dudley carries his dying wife to the house so she can die and be with her daughters Sad

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 04/10/2019 20:26

@Autumnchill Mcdreamy dying was really sad, but Mark Sloane dying made me a lot more upset, I think I half expected it by the time Mcdreamy died but didn't expect Mark to die!

Autumnchill · 04/10/2019 20:28

McSteamy 😭

Land before time. That broke me when I was younger!

The opening scene of UP

Marley and Me

A little Princess (when her papa remembers her!)

There are so many more! I def agree with the end of Still Game!

Ihatesundays · 04/10/2019 20:37

Meg dying in little women

Doublevodka · 04/10/2019 20:37

The scene in the film Charlotte Gray, where the fake letter is being read to the children to give them hope when unbeknownst to them, they are actually being taken to a concentration camp. Oh god that scene makes me cry my eyes out. I'm filling up just thinking about it.

MajorFaffington · 04/10/2019 20:40

So many of the ones that have already been said that I am bawling just reading the thread.

The one that (I think) nobody has mentioned yet that gets me every time is the scene at the end of The Office Christmas special when Dawn comes back to the party and kisses Tim.

hazandduck · 04/10/2019 20:45

@Majorfaffington god yes the end of the Office has me in floods!

bespokepaininthearse · 04/10/2019 20:51

Random one - fast and furious 7 where they are all sat on the beach crying at the end looking at Paul walkers character with his family - it wasn't Paul Walker but his brother as he had already died and the actors said they were real tears of sadness for their friend 😭

And of course the scene on the beach in the film beaches at the end...

The funeral speech in 4 weddings a funeral will always get me everytime

PrincessScarlett · 04/10/2019 20:52

Oh yes, Natasha sacrificing herself in Endgame. My son still hasn't got over that. And when all the portals open up and Sam says "on your left" to Steve. Totally took me by surprise and I had tears pouring down my face in the cinema.

Skippii · 04/10/2019 20:52

The entire film “Precious”, and it’s based on a true story. Absolutely tragic

Contraceptionismyfriend · 04/10/2019 20:53

@PrincessScarlett I still haven't gotten over it.

You just reminded me. When the theme tune is playing and Steve looks forward and says "avengers assemble"

FurrySlipperBoots · 04/10/2019 20:54

'My dog Skip', first when he's injured and lying on the vets table, and again (heavy duty sobbing) when he gets old and feeble so he can't climb onto the bed anymore, and dies.

redexpat · 04/10/2019 20:57

Every bloody episode of Call the Midwife.
The scene in when Harry met Sally when he runs to the party and declares his love.
Confetti - the song at the end.
Dawn and Tim in the Office - when she unwraps the picture with never give up on the other side.
Most recently was the clip of Rosie Duffields speech to parliament about her abusive relationship.

Monr0e · 04/10/2019 21:02

Sobbing now watching that Will Smith clip.

Lots of mine have already been mentioned

Mark Greene in ER
Pretty much the whole of Steele Magnolias
E.T
But the one I proper ugly cried the most was the scene where Ralf Maccio's character is dying in The Outsiders "Stay gold Pony boy" absolutely broke my heart.

whiteroseredrose · 04/10/2019 21:02

#Fairylea I was going to say that scene in About Time. My DC are 19 and 16 now. I'd do anything to go back to them being 5 and 8 for a few days 😢.

Monr0e · 04/10/2019 21:03

Ralph Macchio. Sorry Ralph.
