How many coats do you own?

Browsing through magazines trashy news websites I see that lots of celebs/politicians/royals seem to have an endless supply of elegant coats. In fact, they hardly ever seem to leave the house wearing the same coat more than once!

I own a paltry collection of 4 coats (light rain mac, warm wool winter coat, a parka and a very scruffy old coat that I wear to my aunt's farm).

How many coats do you own?

Wow I have a ton, but the weather in Norway makes it necessary. I have my deep winter coat for when we're -15 and colder, my regular winter coat for 0 to -15. I have a long wool coat for autumn/spring, a leather jacket, a summer rain coat and a light jummer jacket. I'm considering getting a full on winter suit though because they're warmer, even if they're a proper pain in the arse to get off and on.

I think about 15 now. I had a major clear out about a year ago and threw so many away. I regret it now but I was nesting 🙈

5 ski/waterproof type jackets but I work outside in the Highlands!
1 dufflecoat for non work wear.

Far too many. I cant even say I wear all of them.

Big warm winter coat that I live in when it's cold, a lighter fur hood one when it's not too cold. A Barbour jacket, 1 nude faux leather jacket , black biker jacket, grey faux fur coat for a more dressing up kind of night. 1 puffa jacket and a lightweight trench type coat.

Too much khaki. Need a full length wool coat, suitable for going over dresses.

I’m going to buy one in the Black Friday sales this year, and another in the sales next year. Just trying to narrow it down to what styles I definitely want.

Long grey smartish one
Blue warm cute one with fluffy collar
Functional warm black parka ish one for daily wear in colder weather
Thinner casual one with hood for daily wear in warmer weather
Puffa jacket for when super cold or out in countryside etc.

So 6 I guess, I always thought I had too many but that's not too bad.

Not many:

Black faux fur - owned for over ten years
Ankle length - owned for four years
Knee length - owned for four years
Denim jacket - owned for three years
Two macs - owned for a year

I do not buy new coats every year although I would like an expensive tailored coat. One that is lined well and hangs well. I spend around £50 for a coat which is not much.

I forgot my faux leather jacket!

About 30 Collected over 20 years. I’m ashamed.

Why would you be ashamed? If I hadn’t got rid of a selection that I was never going to fit again, I’d have 25+. I don’t feel the least bit ashamed!

Two winter coats that fit, a mac and a light jacket. One winter coat two sizes two big because I was caught in a snowstorm and that was the only size close to mine the shop had.

At my last "sort out" I had 40 coats. (I had/have a coat, bag, shoe thing)

I love coats they can dress up a day time outfit and a good fitting evening coats just looks so elegant.

I don't feel remotely ashamed. I am on the hunt for a fur coat, needs to not be bulky though, that finishes just above knee height. In either grey or dark black. But it's proving elusive!

1 smart long coat - for smart stuff when it's warmer

1 north face jacket - for spring/autumn (when it's below 20 degrees but above 10)
1 lightweight waterproof for when I'm in tropical climates
1 short cotton khaki jacket for summer evenings

I think I have maybe 8 coats

Wow I can't believe people have so many... I have 6 but they're all different needs

1 Winter coat (smart and quite thick) from monsoon
1 puffa coat (very thick, like a duvet with a zip)
1 summer coat (thin, beige, mac type)
1 black smart/evening coat

Then 1 waterproof, and 1 fluorescent yellow waterproof for cycling (if these count, they're more jackets than coats)
