You mean like how remainers are refusing to respect the outcome of a democratic vote

It was the Brexiy Brexiteers who failed to vote for May's deal. If they had, we would have left on time in March.

Brexity

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 24/09/2019 17:36

The Brexit Party has accepted that we're getting an extension to be followed by a GE and a further referendum. The BTL comments are rather less measured, and the promises of mass executions if they win show exactly the sort of people we'll have to deal with.

We now know Brenda Hale wanted her 15 minutes of fame and she has egg on her face

What an idiotic comment. She would have been just as visible today if the result had been that prorogation was lawful.

And for those of us who didn't just wake up to the existence of the Supreme Court for the first time today, Baroness Hale is already famous.

Ellie56 · 24/09/2019 21:30

The ruling is based on personal belief from a bunch of remoaners. Hmm. You know all these judges personally and how they voted in the referendum?

The Supreme Court has lost all credibility. You mean you don't like the ruling?

We now know Brenda Hale wanted her 15 minutes of fame and she has egg on her face. Hmm Confused .
First, this does not even make sense and second, you are talking about Lady Hale, the first female president of the highest court in the land, who was already well known before this court case even started.

@actaea

Can't even count the number of times I've had to say this but unfortunately here we are again.

Freedom of movement has been incorrectly applied by the UK not by the EU.

The EU wording is 'Freedom of movement for workers' it allows for people who have a job in another European country to move there. People who do not have a job need to be actively seeking one and the country can choose how long they consider 'reasonable' to allow them to find a job before they have to leave.

The Home Office in the UK could not figure out a method for tracking people or could not be bothered so took it to mean 'Freedom of movement' generally and to allow any EU national to love to the UK and stay forever.

If you have a problem with that policy then your problem is with the UK government not with the EU.

Personally I'm happy with Freedom of movement as it stands, you clearly aren't.

Given that the UK Home Office have historically been absolutely incompetent when managing immigration, what makes you think they will be able to amend that to something you can deem acceptable after Brexit?

BenWillbondsPants · 25/09/2019 10:35

People who think that BJ should have been allowed to break the LAW are mad. That is a dictatorship!!!

There are a worrying amount of people who do seem to think that the Prime Minister should be permitted to break the law. Regardless of which way you voted, you should never think this is OK. It's mind boggling.

Clawdy · 25/09/2019 23:05

That "humbug" comment tonight was dreadful. And then the Jo Cox and Brexit reference. Just when you think he can't get any worse.....

There is a definite sense that it's all going to come to a head very soon.

MustardScreams · 25/09/2019 23:23

@Venger I’ve been thinking that for at least a year, and it never does the way I predicted! Every time I’m certain about something, some other totally mad thing happens.

I honestly don’t know what is going to happen here. And I don’t even think the MPs do. The trouble is BoZo still holds the cards, even without a majority government. Thankfully we have the rebels and opposition to prevent too many of his insane ideas, but I have a nasty feeling he’s got something up his sleeve to ensure a no deal on the 31st.
