If a snap election is called, who will you vote for?

This will be such a difficult election, as I reckon almost everyone will vote tactically.

I am a remainer, and was a traditional Labour voter, though that doesn’t feel like home any more.

I also voted no, but now find myself thinking independence might not be the worst option any more.

I will not vote for Johnston.
I like Jo Swinson, but her party will never be big enough to make a big difference.
Corbyn seems a principled man, but he is too far left for me and he’s not a leader - he is a divisive character.
Farage represents all I hate in politics.

I will be voting SNP,, for the first time in my life.

I'm an SNP member so I'll be voting for them. I voted Yes in indyref and I firmly believe that independence is the only way to disentangle ourselves from being dragged into whatever shit show England wants.

Moomin8 · 03/09/2019 09:00

Labour - swing seat between Lab/Tory where I live.

Soola · 03/09/2019 09:02

35 years of voting and would never vote Labour.

Stopped voting Conservative a few years ago but in this circumstance I am pondering them or The Brexit Party.

Holding my nose, I'd vote LibDem, which is probably a wasted vote here, but there's no way I'm voting for the SNP. If nothing else, this Brexit mess has shown how incredibly difficult it would be to disentangle Scotland from the UK, which is linked much more closely than the UK to the EU.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 03/09/2019 09:12

Labour allthough I live in a Plaid safe seat

Bookworm4 · 03/09/2019 09:14

How can women vote for Tory? With a misogynistic cheating abuser as a leader? Their appalling record regards benefits, the blatant lies regards pensions, funding etc.
The Tories have never had the ordinary persons needs at heart.
Oh I don’t like Corbyn blah blah, whilst I’m not a Labour voter I think he’s a damn sight better than foul Johnson.
When you say oh I’ll vote libdem, it’s a party so why make Lab/Tory about one individual?
Women voting Tory are voting against themselves.

Ellabella989 · 03/09/2019 09:14

I would ideally vote Green as they are the only party I have any time for. Would probably be tactical and vote Lib Dem’s in the hope they could topple Boris though

Oldbutstillgotit · 03/09/2019 09:15

I will vote tactically ; whoever is best placed to unseat our current useless SNP MP.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 03/09/2019 09:17

Heart says Green
Head says Lib Dem
Tactics say SNP

all votes I don’t want to vacation, esp not the SNP one

walkingtheplank · 03/09/2019 09:17

Conservative. Despite being a remainer, I believe we have to deliver on the result of the referendum.
Labour cant seem to agree what they want on Brexit so I'm not sure what a Labour win would mean but I dont think it would be abiding by the previous democratic vote.
I also like the environmental initiatives of the Conservative Party. I dont think they get enough credit for that, having put the UK ahead of most countries on such issues.

‘abour cant seem to agree what they want on Brexit’

... and you think the current shit storm shows us that the stories do?

Lucindainthesky · 03/09/2019 09:21

Labour. I'd rather see JC than BJ as PM and our labour MP is very good.

itssquidstella · 03/09/2019 09:26

Lib Dem.

Amber2019 · 03/09/2019 09:31

Snp

CassianAndor · 03/09/2019 09:36

As a woman, right now I don't feel there's any party I can vote for. Tories obviously out, and neither Labour, the Lib Dems or the Greens know or care what a woman is.

So I just don't know. My Labour MP has an enormous majority but also isn't going to rock the boat asking Labour to actually give a shit about women (despite being a woman herself, but cf Jo Swinson).

DobbinsVeil · 03/09/2019 09:37

I live in a long-standing Conservative seat, but I could well imagine Brexit party doing well here. I have never and will never vote conservative. Probably Lib Dem over Labour.

Janus · 03/09/2019 09:40

I’m in a majorly Tory ruled area (our MP also voted for a no deal Brexit) and all the locals love the Tories, it’s depressing! So I will vote Lib Dem as maybe some may swing a tiny bit that way but in all honesty I know I’ll make no difference.
I’ve voted Labour all my life (except when I lived in Twickenham and then voted Lib Dem too as Vince Cable was our local, excellent, MP. I just don’t believe in JC any more, he quietly wants Brexit so I can’t vote for him. Get a new leader and I would vote for them again. Sadly I think labour will do very poorly but at least he will have to resign then won’t he? It will be too late to stop Brexit but at least I could see a future then when people would vote labour again and they can make some good change in years to come??

notangelinajolie · 03/09/2019 09:41

Conservative.

Charlieiscool · 03/09/2019 09:42

I’m a labour supporter but I won’t vote for Corbyn. I’m a remainer and I think people didn’t understand what Brexit would mean so I’d like another, properly informed referendum. I’ll vote Lib Dem.

LarkDescending · 03/09/2019 09:45

Corbyn is our constituency MP with a huge majority.

I will be voting LibDem.

Cinammoncake · 03/09/2019 09:45

LibDems. Not perfect but closest to my views out of the three main parties.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 03/09/2019 09:47

Labour cant seem to agree what they want on Brexit’

In the event of a Peoples Vote before a General Election Labour will campaign for Remain against a Tory Deal/No Deal

In the event of winning a General Election Labour will negotiate a Customs Union/Single Market Lexit and that will then be given back to the people to vote on

Deathgrip · 03/09/2019 09:51

democratic vote

It was a referendum, non-binding.

If we all voted to add a new chemical to our water supply because it was shown to protect against an awful disease, but then it was discovered that chemical causes cancer, would you still expect them to put it in, because we voted for it?

Brexit is in the worst possible interest of our country. Millions will suffer. Our economy will suffer. The fact that an uninformed voter base made a vote off the back of limited information and outright lies shouldn’t mean we should pursue something we know to be harmful.

If it were possible to negotiate a deal that wouldn’t leave us worse off, we’d already have one!

JustAnotherPoster00 · 03/09/2019 09:54

So far Corbyn is the only leader thats trying to represent the 52 and 48 percenters, Tories want to disregard the 49% (I doubt many of the 52% wanted No Deal) and the Lib Dems want to disregard the 52% and just cancel Brexit that equally doesnt seem fair, the referendum was proved to have been run illegally but here we are with two camps who are for the most part totally polarised the only way forward is to try and cater for both groups, might not get everything you wanted but its going to be a damn sight better than a No Deal Brexit with those who have shown no regard for the disabled and vulnerable in this country

TamarindCove · 03/09/2019 09:55

Women voting Tory are voting against themselves.

The same can be said about voting Labour or Lib Dem.
