Ok... this has freaked me out and I'm pretty chilled

(NC as I’ve text about this to a few people who haven’t replied yet)

I woke up about twenty min ago, funny feeling and went to check locks downstairs for reassurance (all secure).

There is a note on the kitchen sideboard, lined notebook paper and light blue ball point in blocky neat handwriting. It says:

‘This is your house Kathleen. You live here. David has the front bedroom and your bedroom is at the back. This is your house Kathleen and you can look at the garden.’

Really tidy kitchen, in the middle of an empty side. I went to bed last. Obv I’m not called Kathleen or anything similar and I don’t recognise the handwriting or even the pen ink.

Maybe this will be easier to grasp or solve in the morning? But right now I’m a bit 😳 and unable to sleep...

What if Kathleen wasn't a Christian? Well I am a Christian and I'm not all that keen on that particular prayer actually.

Anyway, it is out there in the world now, so if Kathleen finds comfort in it, all well and good.

my mum's name was Kathleen

HeadintheiClouds · 30/08/2019 20:14

If she wasn’t a Christian she’ll be in Helllllll 🔥🔥🔥. She won’t care.

HeadintheiClouds · 30/08/2019 20:14

Joke.

Tinyandpetite · 30/08/2019 20:22

People can be really bloody nasty here op. I had a pair of jeans posted through my letterbox a few weeks ago, and a pack of 3 brand new knickers-my size .a note attached saying I got you these. I don’t recognize the writing. Knowbody is admitting too it, really freaked me out. I totally get where your coming from. I hope you find an explanation and please don’t let people upset you x

1FineDane · 30/08/2019 20:24

Ye, I don't like the bit about repenting your sins etc. But it was all I could find. My Nanna would have had the perfect prayer but she passed away a few years ago.
I personally think Kathleen just needed someone to acknowledge what happened to her.

Someone got the wrong house, presumably? The fact that they’re your size is probably just a coincidence, loads of women wear the same size.

I personally think a piece of paper that was amongst a pile of abandoned belongings fluttered out of the loft while the hatch was open - fascinating how differently the same event can be interpreted due to differences in belief systems.

HeadintheiClouds · 30/08/2019 20:34

Was it actually addressed to you, Tiny?

Vanhi · 30/08/2019 20:35

I say this most sincerely WTAF is going on tonight, Is it a full moon?

The opposite. It's a dark moon - the second new moon this month.

Mysteriously, the OP has not mentioned how old they are, nor why writing she originally described as "blocky, neat handwriting" has evolved by the morning into something different.

She has said the children are too young to have written this. She has also said it looks different in the cold light of day.

What is it with the troll hunting? If you don't believe a thread just fuck off out of it.

LoseLooseLucy · 30/08/2019 20:39

If you don't believe a thread just fuck off out of it.

Amen.

Glad you got to the bottom of it Clovko.

FelicisNox · 30/08/2019 20:54

@Clovko you win the most interesting thread tonight. 🏆

CGTER567 · 30/08/2019 21:04

I joined mums net just to say this because it is important- do you have a carbon monoxide detector? Someone posted something very similar on reddit- and it turns out he had carbon monoxide poisoning and was writing them himself and forgetting. Reddit Thread
I have not read the thread yet, so this may have been ruled out already!

CGTER567 · 30/08/2019 21:05

Have read the. update- glad it was nothing sinister! But still check your co detectors!

EffYouSeeKaye · 30/08/2019 21:07

I wonder if the horrible dad or son hated cats and left poison in the garden then buried the evidence?

PTW1234 · 30/08/2019 21:08

You need a ring doorbell OP. It’s the only way I can sleep at night after being burgled..

LoseLooseLucy · 30/08/2019 21:12

Good thread link CGTER567, how creepy 😬

Tinyandpetite · 30/08/2019 21:18

The note was addressed too me. The knickers were the type I wear as well.

onegiftedgal · 30/08/2019 21:32

@Tonnerre, no I haven't and wtf would I? Op asked opinions with her original question, so that's what I gave (a bit jokey admittedly, but this has been lost on you).
We all jump to conclusions at times don't we? Op wouldn't have had a thread otherwise.

ssd · 30/08/2019 21:53

I wish someone would post something to wear in my size through my door, I'm crap at shopping.

Good to read your update op. Poor Kathleen, hope she finds some peace knowing there is a happy family in her old house.

Mymomsbetterthanyomom · 30/08/2019 22:09

She won't be forgotten after this!!

jackie2669 · 30/08/2019 22:39

Ignore the bullying weird things do happen all the time glad you took advice about checking sockets I had the smell in my house of fish.two days later socket started smoking.switched electrics off just in time .

Manth85 · 30/08/2019 23:14

I'd forgotten about that!

Tonnerre · 31/08/2019 01:23

@onegiftedgal, WTF wouldn't you read at least all the OP's posts before responding? When a thread's been going for two days it's a bit mad to assume events won't have moved on. In this case it's been demonstrated that there was a perfectly sensible, non-frightening reason for this bit of paper being there, which makes your post look ever so slightly daft.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 31/08/2019 09:53

@Clovko well I think it’s absolutely fascinating. I know it spooked you out a bit initially but I think it’s really interesting to know a bit about the history of your home. I hope Kathleen found peace.
