What's happening in your house right now ?

I've been up since 5 with our puppy. She's bang out now and me and youngest dd are chilling, she's watching YouTube and I'm having some marmalade on toast.
Going to get her ready in an hour for a day at her friends then when DH gets up I might go back to bed for an hour or sit in the garden with my book.
What's everyone else up to ?

In bed with cup of tea. Dcat on lap. Dh and dd asleep. dh out with friends later.. Need to check that dd has everything she needs for school and sew some labels in. May make an apple pie.

ssd · 26/08/2019 09:14

Am in bed on phone, had brekkie, going to work soon.

curly100 · 26/08/2019 11:51

I'm in Scotland so no bank holiday here. DD only started secondary school last week and we don't seem to have got the morning routine right yet for the earlier start.

I've written a list of everything I need to do workwise which is even more than I feared but at least I feel a bit more in control now.

Think today's going to be a hungry day - I've already had early lunch and am contemplating what else I can have that doesn't involve a trip to the shop.

Later I need to make the birthday cake for my Mum that I didn't get around to yesterday.

Onwards & upwards!

SnorkMaiden81 · 26/08/2019 12:01

Well apparently there's just been a big 'fracking induced' earthquake locally.
I was at home in a quiet house on my own & felt nothing.
Currently checking out the hyperbole on social media about it all. 🤷🏻‍♀️

troppibambini · 26/08/2019 17:01

I'm enjoying the peace and eating a sandwich.

My mum offered to have my four dc today while me and dh get ready for our holiday tomorrow we have cleaned the house, changed the beds and just been to the airport to drop our cases for an early morning flight.

ssd · 26/08/2019 17:21

Have a lovely holiday troppi

dementedma · 26/08/2019 17:24

Scotland too but our organisation takes the bank holiday. Caught up on household chores, swam 40 lengths , picked up DS at station and am now sprawled on the sofa. Vegetarian chilli is done and all is quiet in the house.

ssd · 26/08/2019 17:29

40 lengths is fab ma!!
I'm still at bloody work and it's turned into a c**t of a shift

dementedma · 26/08/2019 20:30

Thank you. I’m a slow swimmer and it takes me ages but pleased to hit 40 for the first time

howwudufeel · 26/08/2019 20:32

I am watching Poldark. Ds1 is recovering after five days at a festival. DP and Ds2 are playing chess.

LifeOfBox · 26/08/2019 20:36

I am sat in the garden listening to an audiobook, reading the news and drinking a glass of Aspalls cider. My solar lights have started to come on which is more than an hour earlier than three weeks ago.

DD is in the bath, just me and my lovely dog 🐕.

burntthepasta · 26/08/2019 20:37

Trying to get my 5&2 year old to sleep. It's hot, the fans just blowing warm air around. I'm hungry and the 2 year old is being a little shite. Bring on autumn 🥵

galvantula · 26/08/2019 20:39

I'm raging quietly by my 4 year old's bed cos she won't go the fuck to sleep.

Thesearmsofmine · 26/08/2019 20:41

Im in the bath listening to my 3 year old reading books in his bed and slowly falling asleep. He is hot and tired from a busy day.

8 & 6 year olds are in their room playing with their cars.

DH is downstairs watching TV.

FinnBalorsAbs · 26/08/2019 20:44

Counselling DH after DD, aged 5, got wind we were in our bedroom with the fan on watching Captain America.

She sobbed all over him, apparently he doesn’t ever play with her (he does) and she never gets to do anything fun (she does, and has had a weekend of much excitement and many excursions). I’m trying to point out to him she’s hot, overtired and emotional but there is existential ‘I know I work every day, but I try and be present when I’m here with her’ angst. He’s gutted.

Betaboo · 26/08/2019 20:47

DD, 16yo and her friend, who is visiting from abroad and staying for 2 weeks,, (friends since year 2, haven't seen each other for 3 years) realising that they have nothing in common anymore and having a spat ! Tension very high, never again is anyone coming to visit, agghhhh..

Lindormilk · 26/08/2019 21:02

DD1 at her friends
DD2 gone for a walk with her boyfriend
DS on PS4
DH out checking the flock
Im sitting inside cos its too cold outside, having a glass of wine and a blanket over my legs. Ive also lit the candles!

Kez200 · 26/08/2019 21:07

Just got paperwork ready for husbands mri scan tomorrow and packed him off to bed, spaced out on medication (better than the pain, I guess)

ssd · 26/08/2019 21:51

FinnBalorsAbs, hope your dh and dd have a bit of time together and make up. They break your heart sometimes, don't they.

actuallyquitesmall · 26/08/2019 21:58

DH is re-stringing a guitar and there's bits & pieces all over the living room floor, and I'm contemplating whether to have a coffee first and then a bath, or the other way round.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 27/08/2019 08:24

It’s my birthday, just having a coffee then out for breakfast with my DDs.
When we get back DD is doing me a spa dayGrin

ssd · 27/08/2019 08:36

GenuineKlatchianPotteryCakeFlowers happy birthday

7Worfs · 27/08/2019 09:11

I’m watching DS blowing raspberries (he just discovered them and doesn’t stop unless he is feeding).
DH in bed with sore throat.

Mollyboboff · 27/08/2019 09:25

Got woke up at 4am by dcat jumping on the bed.
Got woke up again by a pheasant in the garden screeching. Dcat made a launch off the bed into the window for the ' kill '
Currently laying on the bed after having a tidy up of the bathroom and contemplating the rest of the house.

lucysmam · 27/08/2019 09:37

The girls are watching something Taylor Swift related on Youtube while dd2 has breakfast (unicorn spread from Asda on toast).

I'm about to finish my cup of coffee, then put my bedding on the line & consider washing up.

The rest of my Guide leaders team are coming at 11ish to semi-plan next term, and all bringing their kids, so I'm going to tidy up downstairs and get out some garden toys so they can all go out rather than make a mess of my house!

I was wrong about what they're watching - dd1 is watching Riverdale and dd2 is watching Rex the alligator videos on Youtube.
