OP posts:
Frith2013 · 10/08/2019 14:51

How convenient.

HandsOffMyRights · 10/08/2019 14:52

All those secrets buried.
Paedophiles get away with it again.

Sex, money, power.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 10/08/2019 14:53

I'm no conspiracy theorist but this is the most 'convenient' suicide I've read of since Dr David Kelly's. How timely and opportune for a large number of extremely powerful people, some of whom are known for exerting control over the media, sugarcoating their own public image, and suppressing anything that doesn't portray them in a favourable light.

There are some severely dark forces at work on this planet on occasion.

UniversalAunt · 10/08/2019 14:53

Am I surprised...?
Nope.

Who’d play him in biopic?
Kevin Spacey maybe.

In this instance, will the plot thicken or just plain curdle?

Jsmith99 · 10/08/2019 14:53

One does not need to be a believer in tin-foil hatted conspiracy theories to think that Epstein taking his secrets to his grave is very convenient indeed for a lot of very powerful people....

viques · 10/08/2019 14:54

Hmmm, I wonder why so many people are being cynical! But then again, it does seem very convenient timing just as the truths and names were creeping out of the woodwork.

BambooBoobam · 10/08/2019 14:55

How very convenient for a lot of rich white men...

youarenotkiddingme · 10/08/2019 14:55

I've just read this and came to see if there was a thread.

My first thought was

"But he was in suicide 'watch'" HmmConfused

TinklyLittleLaugh · 10/08/2019 14:55

I too think the Max Clifford thing was also dodgy as hell.

FermatsTheorem · 10/08/2019 14:56

Another one thinking "how convenient..." This stinks to high heaven. And I'm also someone who usually defaults to cock-up rather than conspiracy as an explanation, but even I'm going Hmm at this.

**Tentomidnight I wondered that too

Roussette · 10/08/2019 14:59

How convenient for the rich and powerful that were named in the recent unsealed documents. And he was on suicide watch. Funny that...
He was a sex trafficer of underage girls and his 'Madam' was Ghislaine Maxwell. Let's hope justice can be served and this tweet gives me hope...

Lisa Bloom
@LisaBloom
Predator Jeffrey Epstein killed himself. On behalf of the victims I represent, we would have preferred he lived to face justice.
Our civil cases can still proceed against his estate. Victims deserve to be made whole for the lifelong damage he caused. We’re just getting started.

viques · 10/08/2019 15:00

epstein taking his secrets to the grave

I suppose it's too much to hope he has left irrefutable damning evidence with a lawyer, the sealed envelope (or more likely large box) marked To Be Opened In The Event Of My Unexpected Death. I think if I knew the shameful secrets of the world's very powerful people I would have done this, in fact I would have left several copies in different places.

OhPandamonium · 10/08/2019 15:01

Hopefully it won't all be buried though as there are other lawsuits taking place.

Riddleofthesands · 10/08/2019 15:01

Agreeing with MarielVanArkleStinks post.

PerkingFaintly · 10/08/2019 15:01

Yeah,quelle surprise.

Even if the immediate act was suicide, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he had... encouragement.

I usually try to avoid speculating, but in this occasion I think speculation's all we'll sodding get. Too many people, at too many levels, too happy to see him gone. Angry

Dowser · 10/08/2019 15:02

Wow Rousette

MrsVanCleef · 10/08/2019 15:02

The lady giving evidence must be scared. And so she should be.

OP posts:
VivaLeBeaver · 10/08/2019 15:04

I wonder if they will carry on with the investigation into the other men who she has named.

PerkingFaintly · 10/08/2019 15:04

Oh good for Lisa Bloom. I hope her clients get the hearing they deserve.

Butterymuffin · 10/08/2019 15:05

The Prince Andrew Ghislaine Maxwell story was on the Guardian today too and was still up after the headline about Epstein appeared. The link can't be wiped out so easily.

Wherearemyminions · 10/08/2019 15:07

Have just finished re-reading James Herberts Ash and the first thing I thought when I saw this news was I wonder where he really is!

katseyes7 · 10/08/2019 15:08

Well, dead men tell no tales.....
