I'm just watching a Queen documentary on tv.

Many songs move me, but no single lyric breaks my heart like "I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all" . The utter, desolate sadness of that simple statement, socks me every time I hear it.

“When are you gonna come down?

The opening lines of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John. Played at my dads funeral. Cannot listen to that song now, ever.

I heard it for the first time 3 days after my Grandad died. The whole song just summed up how I felt, and I still can’t listen to it without ugly crying (even when seeing them in concert )

DH suffers from clinical depression, I'd love to be able to climb into his head and re-wire whatever it is that is causing it. I miss my carefree husband and its hard to accept that, that person has gone. I love him dearly. Songbird always makes me cry and pretty much sums up how I feel.

I only discovered this song recently: the The Rose, especially the last two verses.

It's such a simple tune, but the song is so powerful.

Bobbin that line comes to me all the time "He's like the son I might have known..."

I am not making a mockery of the thread I swear but Half Man Half Biscuit’s “For What is Chatteris” really gets me as I bought the album when I was really missing someone.

John Legend All of Me. I know it is meant to be a love song, but I well up when I hear it because I think of my 7 year old and his journey with ASD. He has worked so hard to become the chatty, loving kid he has become

My mum died almost exactly a year ago today and this was one of the readings I chose for her funeral.

The most affecting thing I have ever read was the brief obituary for a small baby in our local paper. It contained the following line:

" Night, night wee lambie"
I still choke up reading it but had wee children myself at the time and ended up sobbing...

The whole of You Could Be Happy by Snow Patrol makes me sob

Always makes me think of my son and the struggles that overwhelmed in the end.

‘As long as I gaze on Waterloo Sunset, I am in paradise’ - Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks. My aunt’s favourite song, she was born and lived in one of the streets behind Waterloo Station and this was played at her funeral. It breaks my heart every time I hear it.

‘See you at the horses’ that the little boy says at the end of the Cold Case episode based on a true story absolutely heartbreaking episode and story. (‘ boy in the box’ S1/E14) 😢
