Blowing gales here. Really bad can't get out as stick just flies around in wind and rainy too.

Sounds good doesn't it? So why the fuck am I sat here with two fans on and sweating???????????

It's supposed to be cold.

Extremely NOT impressed.

Becca19962014 · 10/08/2019 10:52

20c and it's blowing a hot gale and rainy.

The world has officially gone to pot and I want to get off.
Now.

Emmabryant123 · 10/08/2019 10:52

Becca I am feeling the same
Really thought today would feel cooler .
Nope I am still to bloody hot
It better not be 12c on Xmas day this year
I want it to be nearer to 0c please

Becca19962014 · 10/08/2019 11:10

Was 15c here at Christmas last year, i wasn't impressed.

The only time it actually got cold here was in February for a week. Yes we got a bit of snow (literally) and ice which I'll admit was a problem for me like the so-called wind straight from the fires of hell is today.

Is it really so wrong to WANT SOME SEASONS!!!!!

So much for last year being a one off.

Hot wind should simply be banned. End of.

Emmabryant123 · 10/08/2019 12:14

Yeah we had a dusting of snow last year but nothing else
It was barely ever cold enough for me to need a coat ( i dont need a coat until it's 5c or under )
This winter better damn be a cold one

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 10/08/2019 12:29

I have to say a cold winter doesn't look so likely trend wise. The Beast from the East is a sort of once every 10 years sort of phenomenon. Mind you in the mid 2000s there were a few successive snowy winters and London was affected. My children were off school a few days due to schools not opening. But aside from that and TBFTE its all been a bit of a nip now and then.

My thyroid doesnt work so I get ridiculously overheated and then ridiculously cold in winter (although I can still function in the cold and arent throwing up in the toilet bowl) but even then, I acknowledge that it's more me than really seriously cold.

Nothing like the 1970s. Now those winters were epic!

Sad

I don't want beasts. I just want sodding seasons back!! Last year I was using a hand held fan doing shopping in December ffs between heating and the not wintery weather outside it was hot enough to cause people to faint!

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 10/08/2019 13:11

You know I cant remember when we last had proper seasons.

It's cold here. I needed a jacket and trainers to take DS2 to his holiday club. Still blowing a gale outside.

LoafofSellotape · 10/08/2019 23:33

Met a friend for a meal and the restaurant had air con AND lovely ceiling fans- bliss!

Not quite as muggy as earlier .

Becca19962014 · 11/08/2019 10:28

Nor me.

Looks lovely outside. Bet it's still bloody muggy.

ravenshope · 11/08/2019 15:24

Sixteen degrees here!

Becca19962014 · 11/08/2019 15:28
Envy

We bloody sun. Again.

LoafofSellotape · 11/08/2019 17:23

Very autumnal here and breezy!

RosaWaiting · 11/08/2019 23:52

News flash

I got the flat down to 21.5!!

Well, I’m going to have to close the balcony door before bed, but wow, that’s progress.

LoafofSellotape · 12/08/2019 07:40

We had a huge storm last night, thunder and lightning and big, big rain!!

ravenshope · 12/08/2019 09:36

I just don't understand why I can't control my body temperature. Every time I move I sweat so much. Even when it's 16 degrees ffs. Never used to be like this.

OldAndWornOut · 12/08/2019 12:21

I'm much the same since the menopause.
Also, sometimes I think "i'll just look for..." or "i'll just do..." and that's it, I'm sweating.

Becca19962014 · 12/08/2019 14:48

Bloody horrible here and not in a good way.
Have horrible headache from temp changing so rapidly. Hot here again.

CookPassBabtridge · 13/08/2019 07:44

Freezing here now in Yorkshire, loving it. Had the duvet on the last two nights! Long may it continue..

LoafofSellotape · 13/08/2019 15:45

Very autumnal here and slept so well last night as it was proper chilly.

Starksforthewin · 14/08/2019 02:31

Lovely cool few days coming up here, 17 degrees and loads of rain. Thank God.
I hope we've seen the end of ridiculous temperatures but September can be hot and I remember last year October was ridiculously warm.

As far as 'winter' is concerned, I think I had to wear my heavy coat on only ten occasions last year, rest of the time I got away with a mac.

NormaLouiseBates · 14/08/2019 10:12

@ravenshope and @OldAndWornOut this is me too and it's horrible. Literally any activity at all leaves me sweaty and red faced. I've always been a warm person, even when I was young and slim but now that I'm mid 40s, heading towards menopause (at least I think I am... periods that used to be regular as clockwork now coming and going as and when they bloody feel like it) and fat, it's just unbearable.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 14/08/2019 13:15

Ha ha! Wet and slightly (very slightly) chilly today. Am going out!!Smile

Been better today, though it's supposed to be warmer again tomorrow.
It's really beginning to effect my mental health Sad
