Miss, Ms or Mrs?

OP posts:
timeisnotaline · 22/07/2019 00:23

Ms. I have added it in as an option when missing (only on paper forms of course)

MrsDeltaB · 22/07/2019 00:29

I'm Mrs Delta B(his surname). To be honest anything else didn't occur to me, I'm still ME, I've not lost my identity etc, just made a change. I can't imagine having been anything but that.

oyoyoy · 22/07/2019 00:30

Dr but Ms when the first isn't listed as an option.

NChangeForNoReason · 22/07/2019 00:47

Before

Miss Myname
Mr Hisname

After

Mrs Myname
Mr Myname

Balloondog · 22/07/2019 01:31

Ms.

My marital status is of no-one's concern but my husband and I.

ScratchyMap · 22/07/2019 02:09

Miss at the moment. Mainly because, like a PP, that’s what it was already down as for bank, GP etc and there doesn’t seem much point changing all that just for the sake of a title.

I’ll be Dr soon though Smile

ChaosMoon · 22/07/2019 02:57

Same as NChangeForNoReason. I'm using Mrs but DH took surname.

A big Part of me wishes I'd used Ms, but I couldn't be bothered having that extra bit to explain, when DH taking my surname was already blowing so many people's minds (in his family).

MollyButton · 22/07/2019 06:51

I can't believe some don't us Ms as it sounds ugly - to me Mrs sounds far uglier.
I became Ms at about 20 ish. Dr at 28 ish.

MoreSlidingDoors · 22/07/2019 06:52

I'm Mrs Delta B(his surname). To be honest anything else didn't occur to me, I'm still ME, I've not lost my identity etc, just made a change. I can't imagine having been anything but that.

Did he make a change, or could he not imagine doing that?

RezCowgirl · 22/07/2019 07:05

I'm a Miss and when I marry I'll be Mrs

redeyetonowheregood · 22/07/2019 07:06

Dr or Ms. I was Ms since I was a young girl.

Timeless19 · 22/07/2019 07:12

Ms all the way. It always pissed me off men were simply Mr and women were defined by their marital status,

I actually like Ms and there was no way i was becoming a Mrs.

Rayna37 · 22/07/2019 07:32

Before I married I was Ms, now I'm married, still Ms, even though I did change my name.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 22/07/2019 07:36

Ms on everything since I turned 18. Still Ms after marriage.

daisypond · 22/07/2019 07:38

Ms. I’ve been Ms since I was 15 years ago. I know no one who is Miss.

Shoxfordian · 22/07/2019 07:41

I use Ms, same as I did before I got married

daisypond · 22/07/2019 07:43

Typing fail there - since I was 16 years old. Decades ago.

OccasionalNachos · 22/07/2019 07:47

I answer to all three, & if filling in a form or responding to a question I ask to not use a title. I prefer being called by my first or full name.

Agree with a pp saying Mrs sounds uglier than Ms. Neither are a great sound. Titles are outdated.

CassianAndor · 22/07/2019 07:52

I did take DH’s name but I am still Ms. If I can I don’t choose a title.

CheesecakeAddict · 22/07/2019 07:53

Depends. I was too lazy to change any official paperwork so I am miss for most things. At work I am Ms unless I am writing a letter at which case I switch between Ms and Mrs

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 22/07/2019 07:55

Ms.

PotolBabu · 22/07/2019 07:55

Dr. And otherwise Ms. And like many others I was Ms before I got married.

eurochick · 22/07/2019 07:57

Ms, before and after marriage. At about 15 I questioned why women's titles should indicate their marital status when men's did not. I started using Ms then and still am, nearly 30 years later.

LiveFatsDieYoGnu · 22/07/2019 07:57

I prefer not to use a title if possible, but if forced to give one, Dr or Ms.

S0CKS · 22/07/2019 08:02

I am Mrs DhName but that's by choice i completely respect others who choose otherwise and i always address others if required as Ms until i learn otherwise truth is i just liked DH surname better than my own!
