Been listening to him on YouTube and I think he speaks a lot of truth

OP posts:
MyNewBearTotoro · 13/07/2019 23:17

I’ve never heard of him.

Soola · 13/07/2019 23:27

Yes he does speak a lot of common sense.

Do you follow Ben Shapiro? He’s excellent.

noblegiraffe · 13/07/2019 23:28

Creepy. And a brittle wanker who doesn’t like being disagreed with.

TreaterAnita · 13/07/2019 23:34

Assuming that you’re not being sarcastic @Soola, have you watched Ben Shapiro being interviewed by Andrew Neil? Excellent is not the first word that springs to mind.

@Lardlizard can you give some examples of the truths that Peterson speaks? I’d be interested to hear your take.

DickKerrLadies · 13/07/2019 23:39

All I know about this guy is that his name is like the beacons of Gondor and very soon his followers will flock to this thread to argue with anyone who dares to disagree with what he says.

It's weirdly fascinating.

Giggorata · 13/07/2019 23:57

He sounds like Kermit. (superficial 🤭)

Patroclus · 14/07/2019 00:51

He hasnt read a single thing he talks about. Hes a fraud. A pseudo intellectual joke.

Patroclus · 14/07/2019 00:51

hahah Ben Shapiro? get some standards.

Frith2013 · 14/07/2019 00:55

I’ve never heard of him/her.

Patroclus · 14/07/2019 01:02

This guy has him worked out. Its hilarious that hes being going on about 'post-modernist cultural neo-marxism' for years (that means nothing) but only just recently read anything by Marx, as he admitted in his recent 'debate' on marxism.
He has very obvious antisemitic leanings but just hides it under different names and gets away with it (cultural marrism)
I love in this video hes claiming to be an expert and lecturing on Solzhenitsyn, but you can see him forget the name of his most famous worrk at one point and have to check his notes.

Hes on an 'all beef diet' FFS.

The bigoted moron's idea of a clever person

stroopwafelgirl · 14/07/2019 01:06

Tries to speak “common sense” but a lot of it is just misogyny and far right meritocratic ideals dressed up in pseudointellectualism.

Chillijamntuna · 14/07/2019 01:15

Awful "tough love" advocate. To me this is an oxymoron and he's a moron. Hi kid is really messed up too which is not great for a "parenting expert" Bad vibes.

Eaudear · 14/07/2019 01:19

Ben Shapiro is excellent?

😂😂😂

ineedaknittedhat · 14/07/2019 01:30

I suspect he's mostly smoke and mirrors.

JingsMahBucket · 14/07/2019 01:42

He’s a nazi / far-right persona.

Doyoumind · 14/07/2019 02:16

He's certainly not someone I admire.

BenWillbondsPants · 14/07/2019 03:13

He's certainly not someone I admire.

Nor me. It's a little concerning anyone does to be honest.

Seahorseshoe · 14/07/2019 03:36

Just started reading his 12 Rules for Life book. DS saw him speaking last year, JP's been a good influence on him.

Patroclus · 14/07/2019 04:29

Until he starts talking about how Jews run the world and different races have different IQs?

Patroclus · 14/07/2019 04:43

Some of Kermit the Frauds more enlightened views-

I watched his interview with Helen Lewis on YouTube (because I was looking for content with journalist Helen Lewis who is probably, like me, towards the other end of the political spectrum from Jordan). He made the odd good point but I thought too many of his arguments were based on assertions which he simply posited as truth without any actual evidence for them.

He came across as defensive and a little irascible.

I watched the Ben Shapiro interview with Andrew Neil. He failed to engage with any of the substantive issues raised and made himself look stupid by flouncing out accusing Andrew of having a typical BBC left-wing bias. That would be the Andrew Neil who edited the Sunday Times for 11 years. It was annoying because I wanted to hear Ben's arguments but he was more interested in witch-hunting imaginary bias in the questions.

Durgasarrow · 14/07/2019 04:48

He has a few good points, but he's pretty nuts.

Basilneedswaterandsun · 14/07/2019 05:15

I like him and enjoyed his book 12 Rules for Life.

Trickyteens · 14/07/2019 07:47

A lot of drivel and far right quackery. I had the unspeakable misfortune to hear a snippet of him talking about " taking control crazy women " at a neighbouring house.

Why do these types dislike Jewish people and independent women? I don't get it.

TheBigBallOfOil · 14/07/2019 07:54

I heard him interviewed once and I couldn’t work out what the fuss was about. He just waffled and whenever the interviewer asked him a question about his views he said “ no I don’t say that” - but was then completely incapable of saying what he did think!
12 rules for life - can’t help but think if a woman wrote something like that it would be regarded as a self help book peddling simplistic bromides.
