I speak as a person who has ripped her half thumb nail off emptying a washing machine and earlier on I was dancing to very loud music whilst emptying the dishwasher (neglecting to see how much water had dropped on the floor)

Feet went east and west causing me to do the weirdest box splits and land with the cutlery tray right on my nethers-

I’m currently sat on the sofa with an ice pack feeling like one of those men who goes to A&E with a hoover stuck to their cocks.Blush

Ended up in the burns clinic after tipping boiling (liquid) sugar over myself

A&E. Smashed a Pyrex dish and got a shard in my eye

Broke my foot and ankle and tore all the ligaments falling down two flights of stairs and landing sat on it

Broke the other foot and ankle getting out of bed Hmm

Basically I need to be in bubble wrap

DH sliced his hand, multiple stitches, blood everywhere, open trying to get the stone out of an avocado. Apparently ‘avocado hand’ is a well known millennial injury. I think it made him feel young.

cherryblossomgin · 05/07/2019 20:42

I split my lip open when I was washing a cup. I tried to pull the sponge out and took the cup with me. Also I gave myself an ingrown toe nail from kicking the skirting board under my desk. When my foot goes numb from sitting cross legged.

tomtom1999xx · 05/07/2019 20:44

Pulled the light switch in the bathroom a bit too hard, it flung out of my hand and the decorative knob thing on the end hit me in the eye.
Bloomin’ hurt.

Scratchyfluffface · 05/07/2019 20:44

Dislocated my shoulder opening a fridge

GoBackToPartyCity · 05/07/2019 20:45

I’ve got a burn scar about the size of a 50p from when I managed to steam clean my thigh Blush

millimat · 05/07/2019 20:46

*Torn ligaments across both shoulders and into my neck zipping up my jeans.

How exactly? Hmm

YesQueen · 05/07/2019 20:48

Oh and I herniated a disc so badly I ended up with emergency spinal surgery. No idea how I did it
They were all a bit HmmConfused at my MRI

IDontDrinkTea · 05/07/2019 20:49

Although I’ve had many daft injuries, none felt quite as bad as my hurt pride when DH came home just as I was finishing hoovering the house whilst listening to music through headphones. He gleefully pointed out I’d never plugged the hoover in and so had just dragged the (off) hoover around. Never noticed as my music was so loud

We keep a box in the kitchen for recyclables, which we tip into the big outside recycling bin as and when it gets full.

It’s a fair size but not massive (the only thing I can think of to liken it to, size wise is the size of the box a microwave would be packaged in??!)

Anyway this morning it was full, and quite heavy with quite a few glass jars/bottles.

I somehow managed to take it out and empty it into the outside bin, bring it back inside (now light as a feather) and drop it on my toe, which hurt like hell and is now swollen and bruised and causing me to limp a little! BlushHmm Ffs! Angry

H2OH20Everywhere · 05/07/2019 20:50

Broke a toe whilst attempting to answer the phone.

Went to put my rabbit away, noticed undone laces were not tucked in so told myself to take big steps do as not to step on them. Door slammed shut on lace as I was going down steps at the door. I sort of hung in midair then fell down flat. Hit head on corner of hutch.

Fainted, fell onto radiator and knocked myself out. Came to with tooth through lip and arm lying along said radiator. Ended up with second degree burns.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 05/07/2019 20:52

Caught my dressing gown sleeve on the door handle, ripped it away in a fit of pique and ended up punching myself in the tit.

What's worse, is the exact same thing happened a week later. It hurt a lot more the second time, as I was punching myself in the bruised tit.

FunnyHappyGirl · 05/07/2019 20:54

Not so much a "household" injury but it did happen at home.

Broke my toe changing putting my knickers on one morning!

Rshard · 05/07/2019 20:54

Another hand blender accident, while making cauliflower rice. Resulted in a double open fracture on my left index finger. 5 months of physio and it still doesn’t bend and has not feeling. I buy cauliflower rice now.

@IDontDrinkTea ^ this is bloody hilarious 😂

Backhometothenorth · 05/07/2019 20:56

Hid half-eaten Easter egg in a bowl in a high cupboard out of reach of marauding, chocolate-crazed dd. Later opened cupboard, bowl fell on to my head and made me see stars to say the least.

Owlish · 05/07/2019 20:57

Electrocute, that reminds me, I gave myself a nasty cut on my palm on a slice of homemade sourdough bread. It bloody hurt! Confused

Owlish · 05/07/2019 20:59

@BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger That made me Grin

Scratchyfluffface · 05/07/2019 21:02

Oh another I've just remembered! I was about 12/13 and feeding the neighbours cats while they were on holiday. I got the cat food tin out, and the tin opener. The tin opener was one that you put in the right position and then click the horizontal handles together - unfortunately i was braless under my T-shirt and not used to my (growing) boobs, as I pushed the handles together my nipple got caught between the handles. I saw stars 😣

I poured boiling water over three fingers & my thumb of one hand... in two separate incidents about four days apart. I did think of renaming the remaining finger Daenerys.

I also bent down to get the cereal out of the bottom cupboard one day about 10 years ago, put my back into spasm so bad that DH had to come & pick me up off the floor. I couldn't walk for a week, had to take 2 weeks off work, wear heat pads for 2 months, & it still plays up intermittently, including breaking through the epidural with every contraction when I was having DD.

DH managed to slice the tip clean off his finger with the mandoline. He tried to reattach it, but it didn't take & went manky. It went in the bin. Envy

olderthanilookapparently · 05/07/2019 21:04

Ran full pelt into a patio door which was open until DH kindly shut it. I was wearing glasses which gave me 2 x black eyes and I needed a steri strip on the bridge of my nose

Last week sat in garden gust of wind lifts large garden parasol up and it lands on my head. Still have a, tender bit when I brush my hair.

DrCristinaYang · 05/07/2019 21:07

Was writing on my whiteboard in my room when I was about 11 years old. I turned round a certain way and my kneecap popped out of place (had a dodgy knee anyway).
It wouldn't go back in place and my 2 brothers had to carry me down the stairs one at my head and the other at my feet.
Ended up nearly needing surgery, the doctor agreed to try one more time. He pulled so hard that he flew across the room, got the job done lol and I was in plaster for the next 6 weeks.

Iwantacookie · 05/07/2019 21:17

Oh god which time.
Broke my little toe by stubbing it on the bed. Hurt like hell but a&e couldn't do anything other than strap it to the next toe.
Managed to burn my back when an iron fell on it.
I was ironing leant down to pick another item up knocked the ironing board which knocked the iron on to my shoulder while i was still bent down. Had burn mark there for a few years.

I also managed to spectacularly trip over the back step leading outside. Threw my clean washing all over the patio fell scraped all my hands and legs and hit my head on the steps which caused a massive gash in my head.

Bobojangles · 05/07/2019 21:22

Cut and bruised my face up by dropping the Henry hoover on it (left it at the top of the stairs as I worked my way down). Elderly neighbor tried to gently enquire as to my welfare as he thought my DH must have beat me up

millimat · 05/07/2019 21:24

Haha I've no idea which these is the funniest
@H2OH20Everywhere I hope the rabbit was OK?!
