What does everyone think? The papers seem really annoyed by their decision to keep Archie’s godparents secret. I’m not sure what to think. I don’t think it would hurt to let the public know these details and to see the christening party arrive at church.

And of course if Harry gave up his place in line Meghan and the baby would lose their security, which is dangerous considering the amount of death threats and obsessives out there.

Ffs, I don't blame Meghan, this is all Harry I reckon. No more public funds, none. I actually can't stand him. The monarchy have always been a major part of our lives here in the UK. If this is changing then at the very least we should stop paying for them. Kate and Wills are doing their duty and know how to play the game. If Harry wants privacy and I believe he is entitled to it, then he should buy that privacy by removing himself from the payroll.

I suspect one of the godparents is a controversial Middle Eastern royal who'll bring them bad publicity and there will be questions about undue influence. I could be completely wrong, but they royals have cosied up to controversial figures in the past when there's a potential financial gain.

What do I think?

I think it's about time they decided whether they genuinely want to live privately in which case they fund their own excesses or whether they want to carry on being generously subbed by the great unwashed which means a little gracious compromise on privacy here and there.

You obviously have no idea how much security costs. Harry and Meghan could live a nice life on his inheritance but he certainly could pay that kind of security cost.

There's nothing new in this. Princess Anne, also sibling to the heir to the throne, had pretty much exactly the same attitude to her family and the press. She kept her two well out of the limelight too, and felt no obligation to anyone about it.

We don't own these people. And let's be honest, if Harry bailed out of the Royal family, he'd be absolutely slated for not honouring his responsibilities. These people simply can't win.
