Rift between William and Harry?

velveteenwabbit · 22/06/2019 10:44

Do you think the rumours of a rift between the two are true? I thought the press may be blowing it out of proportion then saw they've disbanded their joint charity, ok fair enough they each have their own families etc... but today on William's birthday Harry and Meghan's Instagram account have posted a very basic "happy birthday to the duke of Cambridge" without any affection at all. Makes me think the rift must be true.

Many of the blind sites were implicated in the Weinstein Scandal, as women who refused to sleep with powerful men found themselves the subject of barely disguised 'blinds', many of which claimed they were yacht girls or that everyone hated them because they were difficult to get on with etc.

TwinklyMummaLuvsHerBubba89 · 24/06/2019 21:48

If you're a female celeb , you yacht.

If you're a male celeb, you're in the closet and your girlfriend /wife is a professional beard (although, I do believe that with Bradley Cooper and Irana whatshername)

I do like reading the blinds because it's so unimportant that it's an entertaining read. I'd say for every 10 blinds there is 1 that has some truth to it.

MangoFeverDream · 24/06/2019 22:31

Oh, do you know them both well then?Otherwise you sound a little bit bitter and twisted

All you’d have to do is look at photos of the two constantly printed in UK media. She’s always looking adoringly at him, he’s rather cold.

And he was photographed with his hands on other women dirty dancing on a ski trip while she was at home with the kids .... such a lack of respect. Probably wasn’t the first and won’t be the last.

I seriously doubt he would be with her if he didn’t love her. Why would he make himself unhappy when he has his pick of women?!

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 25/06/2019 01:44

William did not have his pick of women though, the ones he wanted always rejected him.

Soola · 25/06/2019 01:51

They look just fine to me.

Rift between William and Harry?
flumpybear · 25/06/2019 06:23

Is it my age here 👀 but so many of Kate's clothes are a bit... eeerrrmmm ... frumpy 😳

BalloonSlayer · 25/06/2019 07:11

Didn't want to join this bunfight but in the picture you have posted Soola he isn't looking at her. She is looking at him though. It's not "the two of them sharing a laugh." There's someone else there in the picture and Kate is laughing at his joke. Like an adoring wife does.

RedSheep73 · 25/06/2019 07:12

Do people honestly seriously give a stuff?

SamanthaBrique · 25/06/2019 07:31

You think this is bad @RedSheep73, there's another thread with several posters getting incensed because Meghan has a redesigned engagement ring. No idea why it's anything to do with them!

crosspelican · 25/06/2019 07:54

All the Rose Hanbury stuff aside, H&M are right to follow their own path, commercially. The monarchy is in its final decline and if W&K are ever even crowned it will be a very minimal, Scandi-style monarchy-lite by then, with absolutely no roles (or money) at all for the wider family like Harry & his wife/children/grandchildren.

Harry knows this and is future-proofing his life by withdrawing from his brother and his trajectory, to provide for his own children independently of the RF, lest they become stranded like Beatrice & Eugenie have, in a limbo between normal and royal, unable to do anything. His children will probably have relatively normal lives, degrees and careers.

Even if the Rose stuff wasn't true, I think the couples would have to go their separate ways, economically if nothing else.

Hithere12 · 25/06/2019 08:53

How do you know this though? Who rejected him?

Hithere12 · 25/06/2019 09:00

We need to just get rid of this Royal Family. It’s just embarrassing at this point. They are nothing but a puppet show who do meet and greets. They have no real power. They should have no real power but still what is the point?

I mean when will they declare a War?? How are they going to effect the Empire?? They’re not going to anything they’re just this weird dying nonsense. Why are we supposed to worship these boring people who’ve achieved nothing of merit in their lives.

Most European countries like Belgium and France were sensible enough to dissolve their Royal Families why can’t we??

longwayoff · 25/06/2019 09:04

You can't be a Spencer and not have a family feud or two on the go, experts at it. Will the public ever accept these 'boys' are now adults wanting their own lives? How many of us still maintain our sibling relationships with the closeness of childhood? Few, if any. The number of BIL/SIL/MIL/PIL laments on MN should attest to that.

Smokeonthewater · 25/06/2019 09:10

I really have to laugh at the level of sheer speculation presenting itself as fact. The number of people on here who think they really know all the intimate details of people's lives who they have never met and know nothing about except through tabloid tittle tattle.
People who apparently were party to highly personal information, were there during conversations where William asked women to marry him and was turned down. Who know how William feels about Kate in great detail. People who know that an affair took place and when.

No wonder William guards his privacy and hates the press. No wonder he looks 'cold' at times. What I see in photos is the absolute love and respect those two have for each other. It is really sad how many people actually want to believe that this is a Charles and Diana marriage all over again. I'm sure these two have problems and argue. I'm sure at times they feel stifled or irritated by each other, after all they can't escape to their own worlds or jobs, they are in each other's faces all the time doing a horrible, dull dutiful job which is never going to change. If they have lots of privileges, that's probably all that makes it bearable.

I am not a Monarchist, and would like to see the whole ridiculous system end, but it's really sad to see how many ordinary people are spiteful , jealous and think speculation is fact. What is worse, actually seem to take pleasure in other people's unhappiness or troubles, whether real or not.

Reading Popbitch for realistic journalism is beyond sad.

Belgium is a monarchy!

JaimeBronde · 25/06/2019 09:22

Belgium still has a royal family.
King Phillippe & Queen Mathilde .

Whoateallthecheese · 25/06/2019 10:25

.

NeverPutAWetFootInABirkenstock · 25/06/2019 11:16

What I see in photos is the absolute love and respect those two have for each other. Surely that’s no different from saying “I can see in the photos there are hostilities between Harry and William,’ there’s clearly a rift”. Confused None of us know these people.

On another note, ‘rift’ is up there with ‘quizzed’, ‘slammed’ and ‘flaunting her curvy figure’ on my list of most hated tabloid words. Grin

PortiaCastis · 25/06/2019 12:02

Smokeonthewater. I agree with you your post is spot on

Hithere12 · 25/06/2019 12:24

Oh sorry I meant Austria not Belgium! Calm down everyone.

Hithere12 · 25/06/2019 12:24

And do Belgium have a real King/Queen that rules or is it a puppet show like ours?

Abra1de · 25/06/2019 12:33

The reason Austria doesn’t have a king (actually emperor) is because it lost the First World War and its empire fragmented.

Not because of some progressive democratic process we could want to replicate (world war, I mean).

Littlekittystops · 25/06/2019 12:33

I suspect the brothers have indeed fallen out, there is no affection or humour between them anymore, and it looks very strained. Its a damn shame, they have always been so close. Whatever it was about could never ever be worth losing what looked over the decades to be a very precious bond.

Harry needs to grow into his own role, and make his own life separately. It could have been achieved without bad feeling.

It has been confirmed already that Kate and Megan did fall out before the wedding.

My guess is that Megan and Harry will move to the states. It would be an obvious choice for a couple seeking to enjoy the high life as they do, celebrity style, a lack of scrutiny and obligation must be very tempting. Harry will not enjoy the lack of polo, country pursuits and English way of life and will return.

scaryteacher · 25/06/2019 12:37

Hithere You've been corrected about Belgium. France didn't 'dissolve' their monarchy, they chopped their heads off at Place de la Concorde.

FYI the British Empire no longer exists, so the RF can't do anything to affect it.
