@kaliaphimma I'm sure I read somewhere that his anal injuries were so severe that they either caused, or certainly contributed, to his death.

KatherineJaneway · 10/06/2019 12:18

I never watched his TV shows as I don't find that humiliation based comedy very funny.

It's very frustrating as one or more of those people knows what happened but they have either stayed silent or covered for each other.

Quite depressing reading on here: if rape isn’t proved in court (which happens only in a tiny fraction of instances) then it hasn’t happened? What an awful attitude.

Anyway, my DHs company hired MB as the Christmas Do entertainer one year. This was when he was already huge (they’d had Bob Monkhouse and Lenny Henry in other years).
He was awful, unpleasant and nasty. Just stood on stage being annoyed and arguing with hecklers. The heckling only started after he was hopeless and unfunny in the first place, I might add.
Horrible man.

I quite agree. It's utterly depressing.

I had (still do) lots of very close friends who I frequented one of the UK’s largest and most popular gay scenes with in the mid/late 90’s. Afterparties once the clubs had closed were very popular and MB turned up at one once. The man is an absolute sleaze ball is all I can say really, awful, awful man.

RIP Stuart. Sad

Watching now. I agree with a PP about how his kind of "humor" has died out anyway Same as Freddie Starrs has

Remember the Audience With series. ...........the only one that gets repeated is the Billy Connolly one which is hilarious and still stands up very well. Many of the others never get shown including Freddies because humiliation humor wasnt funny to start with. And looks even more out of date now

"its top brass moved quickly to purchase £200,000 of stock in the troubled broadcaster. The move by chief executive Carolyn McCall, chairman Sir Peter Bazalgette and finance chief Chris Kennedy came as ITV faces a battle to regain the faith of investors after shares fell to a six-year low."

HelenaDove · 11/06/2019 00:59

Could Barrymore be in line for the old Jeremy Kyle slot.

alfie22 · 11/06/2019 01:44

I was only baby when MB was at the height if his career. However, I have seen reruns of his previous shows on television and agree there is something very sinister about him.

He gives me the creeps but I can't put my finger on why. His interview with PM was irritating to watch

SouthWestmom · 11/06/2019 07:59

He is very odd isn't he? As a child / teen I thought he was brilliant. Really surprised at the 'love' in the audience for him - wonder if it was cherry picked?

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 11/06/2019 08:00

I believe in justice and unless proved beyond reasonable doubt, then a person or persons are not guilty

Oh yes we all know how innocent OJ Simpson is

And Jimmy Savile only was there an inquiry after his death he wasn’t tried in court he couldn’t defend himself

So by that statement isn’t guilty Hmm

BastardGoDarkly · 11/06/2019 11:22

I'd never seen the Susan Boyle audition. That really shocking, even allowing for the sleaze accepting time.
