Heart Radio Breakfast Show

Anyone else really disappointed by what Heart have done with their breakfast show?

I loved our local presenters, turned the radio on this morning in the car to be greeted by Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden shrieking. They were both being smug with David Walliams, barely any music either.

I had to turn over in the end. So, so sad that my morning radio has disappeared with barely any warning.

Try plugging in an MP3 player or putting a CD on. Alternatively, switch off.

And the prize for spectacularly missing the point goes to ............

We had Mat & Victoria in Cornwall who were brilliant. Jamie I can just about stand but I hate Amanda Holden with a passion & switch anything with her in it off. The kids really don't like the new programme at all & we've had CD's on in the far this week.

Anyone know what/where Joel and Lorna have moved to?

Please if anyone finds out can you let us know because I will follow them as they are brilliant.

I switched over to Radio 2 this morning, couldn’t cope with Amanda at that time of day.

I am just outside the M25 so listened to Jamie and Emma, who were great, Lucy was fine as a replacement, but I cannot listen to AH. Capital was my go to station by Roman is dreadful, I did listen to Chris Evans on Radio 2 for a while when my commute took me outside of the London window, I like Zoe on TV, but somehow can't get into her breakfast show.
Guess I will either have to be grown up and listen to Radio 5 or plug in my phone and use a playlist now.

I’m glad it’s not just me. I can’t stand the screeching and the annoying celebrities. I don’t want to listen to celebrities. I want to hear about local people, interspersed with music that wakes me up on my drive to work. I’m also looking for a new radio station.

Another fan of Matt & Michelle (North Hampshire) - was gutted when they were replaced and it wasn't just them - it was producer Tom and lovely Carol the receptionist as well. Like lots of PPs have said wasn't a massive fan of the play list but it was the presenters that made it. They cheered me up every morning and I really miss them. There's bugger all else where we are so on Amazon music instead for the time being.

I loved Joel and Lorna in the NW. I have followed them on twitter so I can find out where they go. They were great together, I hope they move somewhere as a package. I'd love to know the Heart listening figures for this week's breakfast show.

Another Matt & Michelle listener here - I loved their show, they were so funny & irreverent (remember naked snow angels last year??), traffic news was really local & actually useful! Can’t bear Amanda Holden so no more Heart for me

I liked Dixie & Emma on Heart in a morning (and the girls make me laugh singing the jingle ). I've switched back to Hallam FM this week though. But I'm not keen on Big John either

Was Dixie called David Dixon or something? If so, he used to present a breakfast show for Rock FM in Preston and I had the same pangs of disappointment when he left. And also Hywel and Jamie that used to do a Rock FM show .

I listened to radio one this morning as it was the best of a bad bunch of my preprogrammed stations. I'm going to have to do some proper research but it won't be heart anymore.

I'm in Kent and the Time Tunnel was my fun 20 minute drive to work. I usually guessed the year right smug face
Gutted it has been nationalised probably to go head to head with R2 and Virgin, but it's crap, we need local talent not big names with £££ in the bank and I actively avoid BGT due to Amanda Holden so not a cat in hell 's chance I'll be listening.

I used to live in the London area, I remember when it was London Heart 106.2.
It played genuinely good music and was a real variety.
All changed about 10 years ago. Although Jamie Theakston has been a presenter for years, I remember him and Harriet Scott.
Most of the Heart DJs seem to go to Magic FM.
I live in Sussex now, shame it’s all London centralised.

My local Heart changed to Capital and i switched off immediately. Then Heart resurfaced with2 new presenters and they were awful.

I now listen to Dragon Radio on DAB.

Few weeks in and I've tried with the new format but it just doesn't work.
We didn't even get a whole song on the way to the childminder. We use to get nearly 3....
Its all chat, and competitions.
I want pop music so can't go to kiss, radio 2 or absolute.
Gutted

The first time listened to AH on Heart and she is slagging off the Scoff.
Not a position I normally disagree with but it was rather cringeworthy to listen to and I feel we were all slightly used as listeners for her to get her jab in.

I've now settled with magic as my alternative.

On Magic I struggle with RK. HS seems exhausted carrying him.
I am going back to sticking CDs in the car the kids have never quite got over the loss of Emma Bunton so they will forgive me this

I wonder what the difference in viewing figures is for the breakfast show before and after?

Really miss Ed and Rachel I don't listen to heart anymore I've gone to smooth I don't want to know the traffic report for London back here in Brum
