Heart Radio Breakfast Show

Anyone else really disappointed by what Heart have done with their breakfast show?

I loved our local presenters, turned the radio on this morning in the car to be greeted by Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden shrieking. They were both being smug with David Walliams, barely any music either.

I had to turn over in the end. So, so sad that my morning radio has disappeared with barely any warning.

Dave and Heidi were hilarious they had me laughing til the tears rolled down my face. I wont tune in to heart ever again.

I know it's not heart but love Sarah Cox on Radio 2 Drive Time . Can't listen to Zoe in the morning have switched to my local radio station.

There is another petition on Twitter with almost 4k signatures as well

I can't stand Amanda Holden as a presenter. I am saddened they've lost the local touch

I heard about this a while ago they are doing this streamline all local radio stations One presenter for all areas so that everybody gets the same radio experience ( utter crap it's do they can save money ) at the moment has not done this to Smooth Radio maybe you can try and listen to this station instead

We had Tom Nicola and jack (Sussex) and they were bloody hilarious! Was so shocked there wasn't a longer announcement of it changing!

Tried listening to the new one but it was shit so turned it over!

I miss Ben and Mel with Sam from traffic, i even miss vegetarian producer Daryl. Dc are also not happy!

I gave it a shot yesterday and it was just loud, shrieky, generic crap -no warmth or humour there at all

Dixie and Emma in Yorkshire have now moved to the drive time slot but it's just not the same

I'm ridiculously upset by the changes which my teenagers don't understand as it's just a radio show but listening to the radio in your car on the way to work just seems to have a level of intimacy -it's just not on

We had The Bay (covers Morecambe Bay, N Lancs and S Lakes area) and it was well loved, funny, local and useful. It's now a Heart station and it's gone shit. I used to use the Bay website for traffic news but Heart doesn't have anything worth looking at.

Can't believe there is a thread about this! I feel exactly the same and I thought I was a bit weird!!
I'm London based so Im used to Jamie, in fact I really like him, especially when he was with Emma. Not so much with Lucy but it was OK.
I cannot stand Amanda holden and I totally agree, how on earth she gets all these top jobs I just don't understand!
Are all the shows being streamlined? I like driving on holiday or days out and tuning in to the different hearts as we travel, and the local news and events advertised are really useful.

I also think it's strange that it was done so quickly and quietly. There was an announcement that Amanda was joining a week before she did and I didn't know that they were going national until I was listening yesterday!

We had Joel and Lorna in the NW. They were fab. I've switched off now.

Well that’s a relief, I thought it was just me! Switched to Heart after BamBam left Sam FM and replacement was crap. Will have to find somewhere else but not sure there is.

Really sad that there are so many unhappy listeners. They must have known the reaction as it was kept on the downlow.

So glad it's not just me. I loved the localness of it and the gentle chat. I'm in the SE so had Rich and Zoe.
Struggling to find another breakfast show with the right 'balance' I've settled on The Breeze for now.

We had Rich and Zoe too. It was just easy to listen to in the morning. Ds has issues at school and school anxiety and sometimes their humour and laughter helped a little on a difficult car journey. I think Amanda Holden might make things worse!

We had Ivan and Emma on Heart Breakfast. Loved them - they were warm, funny and brightened up my mornings. I’m really disappointed Heart have axed so many talented local DJs and replaced them with Amanda Holden. Awful. I refuse to listen anymore.

I'm a relatively recent convert to Heart and am gutted about this, I can't stand AH.

We had Matt and Michelle and they were so funny had great chemistry. It just wasn't the same and on my way to work I want something light and fun.

I've turned it off now. I loled Dave and Heidi. I'm gutted.
