"Forgotten" 80s songs or hidden gems

Are there any songs from the 80s that you miss not hearing anymore or that never get played on Radio 2 or other nostalgia type music programmes?

I've put together an 80s quiz and one of them is a music round.Given that there will participants born after 1989, I didn't want to make it too ageist. I have however added International Rescue by Fuzzbox, as the obscure one in the list.

OMG I just put party fears two on YouTube for a wee blast and autoplay gave me story of the blues straight after. Billy McKenzie and Pete Wylie - two beautiful, brilliant, quixotic and vulnerable men shining brightly.

@abbiecloud Yes, I got googling thanks to this thread and found out about the crash. Was a sad discovery, possibly accounts for the music falling below the horizon too. The photos and outfits etc look so 80s now...

AlecTrevelyan006 · 04/06/2019 20:28

Imagination Belouis Som

Threedaysaweek2019 · 04/06/2019 21:17

Going to cheat a bit and add Gary Numan with Are Friends Electric and Cars. 1979 I think but so far removed from 70's Glam and disco that I think they earn an honorary 80's mention.

Absolutely @CathyorClaire.
Just been watching him on YouTube.

Such an incredible pure pop song, deserves to be more widely known!

Future's so bright gotta wear shades, Timbuk3

Laurajjj · 04/06/2019 21:59

Fleetwood Mac - Sara. It might have been the 70s actually but it's an 80's sounding song anyway

NomDeQwerty · 04/06/2019 22:08

Good Morning Britain - Aztec Camera
It was a bit 'where did that come from?' for them

Liz38 · 04/06/2019 22:17

Loving this! Especially that Then Jericho have had the odd mention. Can I add Bruce Springsteen and Tougher than the rest?
