"Forgotten" 80s songs or hidden gems

Are there any songs from the 80s that you miss not hearing anymore or that never get played on Radio 2 or other nostalgia type music programmes?

I've put together an 80s quiz and one of them is a music round.Given that there will participants born after 1989, I didn't want to make it too ageist. I have however added International Rescue by Fuzzbox, as the obscure one in the list.

I thought I was the 80s queen but I had never heard The Promise and now I'm freaking obsessed with it! Thank you!

May I add Feels like Heaven by Fiction Factory, Dance Hall Days by Wang Chung and everyone's fave, Moonlight Shadow by Mike Oldfield.

Fun fact, if you listen to Moonlight Shadow on headphones then in the closing bars you will hear that the singer can't pronounce 'shadow'.

MorrisZapp · 10/06/2019 08:29

Oh and The Rattler by Goodbye Mr McKenzie. Stunning.

Just popping in again to say I've been listening to so many 80's tracks thanks to this thread. My criteria is a song I don't remember or all time favourite.

Currently listening to Scritti Politti, previously was Haircut 100

The biggest surprise was Frankie Knuckles, Your Love - I had completely forgotten the track and no recollection of the name but absolutely loved it back in the day

Al203 · 10/06/2019 13:22
Change - Searching OK, not quite 1980's but nearly.

I can dream about you - Dan Hartman
Tonight is what it means to be young - Fires inc
Invincible- Pat Benetar
Beat so lonely - Charlie Sexton

Domino dancing - Pet Shop Boys
