It's where you hit shift and the return key so that it doesn't copy the formatting down to the next row. It's most useful when working with bullets and numbering and tabs and stuff.

Mamamere · 03/06/2019 00:27

Thought we were all going to sleepGrin

Mamamere · 03/06/2019 00:29

^

Mamamere · 03/06/2019 00:30

That was a copy and paste of FOUR symbols🤣🤣🤣

Jamai · 03/06/2019 00:30

If you turn on the show formatting on MS WORD, you'll notice sometimes on templates that some have a paragraph symbol and some have an arrow like on the return key on your keyboard. I happened to ask what the difference was and then most of our formatting woes were eliminated once we'd discovered the soft enter... *Taps nose

floraloctopus · 03/06/2019 00:30

Jamai I think I love you 😍
I can't sleep cos I'm a foul mood

Jamai · 03/06/2019 00:31

I can only see one symbol Mamamere - you're probably invisible to some!

RabbitseatDogs · 03/06/2019 00:32

I'd like my code name to be Stanley. I'll wear a tweed suit and brogues, with a tank top (or a vice vest).

I am now going to bed. I expect there to be an email in the morning offering us all work from home, code breaking jobs, 10 hours a week with a salary of £250000 pcm.

Mamamere · 03/06/2019 00:32

Jamai - are you like M from 007 or the lady spy boss in Killing EveShock

Jamai · 03/06/2019 00:32

Show off your skillz tomorrow Flora (I tend to keep it to myself so that people think I'm way more intelligent than I am).

backofthewardrobe · 03/06/2019 00:34

Why the bad mood floraloctopus?

Mamamere · 03/06/2019 00:35

Rabbits - well I don't get out of bed for less than £250000 - this whole thread was an MI5 recruitment-drive. No doubt they'll want me specifically because I'm an anomaly preens

backofthewardrobe · 03/06/2019 00:35

Thanks for the soft enter info Jamai

Mamamere · 03/06/2019 00:36

Floral - you in a bad mood because you're not an anomalyGrinBlush

I love learning stupid little things. You don't realise how nifty they are until you're working on your bosses screen or something and they ask 'how did you do that?'. My most used one being the Windows key & M, minimises all windows so you can see your desktop. You won't believe the amount of people (my bosses) who minimise every screen open individually - honestly they think I'm a fucking genius.

I can now add being invisible on MN to my list. Not sure my boss will be impressed with that skill.

JaneJeffer · 03/06/2019 00:48

Obviously us spy types never sleep. Have to be alert at all times...

Jamai · 03/06/2019 00:49

You're the reason they're recruiting us!

Jamai · 03/06/2019 00:51

It's like we're being prepped to protect Donald Trump -mamamere-- from themselves. I wonder whether Donald thinks he's invisible on Twitter?

floraloctopus · 03/06/2019 00:52

Nah, nothing to do wth anomalies, I just am ShockSad

LassOfFyvie · 03/06/2019 00:54

Am I blank occasionally?

All the time for me.

INeedToGetHealthy · 03/06/2019 01:00

I'm just here for the murderous intentions. Death by banana........ Sounds like something to do with minions.

floraloctopus · 03/06/2019 01:13

Hahaha, it does. I couldn't do death by bananas as the stink makes me want to be sick.

Starburst8 · 03/06/2019 02:26

@YourSarcasmIsDripping did we find out the reason? It's disappeared now so I assume they deleted it.

I've also found your fruit trivia rather educational.. if I ever want to kill someone off with fruit 😂

BasiliskStare · 03/06/2019 02:55

I'm rather missing the point here but I wonder how many banoffee pies it would take to kill someone. I suspect with all other ingredients they would actually explode before ingesting enough banana - for reference thehappyfoodie.co.uk/recipes/mary-berrys-banoffee-pie

the screen things have gone completely over my head so more focussing on the bananas
