I just looked and didn't find it, but have missed threads a few times as seem to always look in wrong place. If there is a thread please can you tag me in it?

OP posts:

Fucking hell - Labour has lost Islington

Pomegranatepompom · 26/05/2019 22:38

Could labours poor results lead to leadership challenge??? (hoping)

JQBased · 26/05/2019 22:38

@Cattenberg you don't feel British anymore? Can you explain what your definition of feeling British is as that's just a weird statement. Leave was a vote against the EU, not Europe and not Britain, a vote against what is essentially a glorified trading agreement...Although in truth it was a vote against the ruling system and establishment that has been failing for decades but that's for another debate.

Interested in this thread?

Reports on Twitter that Corbyn will be challenged (again) for leadership by Labour MPs.

BumbleBeeWineGlass · 26/05/2019 22:41

Annunziata - "there was a clear majority ..." WAS THERE FUCK!!

domton · 26/05/2019 22:41

I'm so sad to be Welsh tonight. Nearly all fallen to brexit party. :(

Cinnabar I truly believe they would regain so many voters with a different leader.

Pomegranatepompom · 26/05/2019 22:42

fingers crossed, new leader for labour is our only way out of this nightmare.
Sorry for ramblings, am transfixed and horrified.

Sleepyhead11 · 26/05/2019 22:42

Oh I do hope Labour sort themselves out after this.

Yes, me too Cattenberg. Every time anyone mentions “the will of the people” I feel so alienated. I am clearly not one of “the people”.

I’m in London (Hackney) and voted Lib Dem for the first time ever. I can take comfort in the fact that the Brexshit fuckers will get nowhere round here!

daisyboocantoo · 26/05/2019 22:43

It's just awful.

We can but hope.... 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Chris Williams, an agent for the Green party in Leicester, has told the Guardian that he has seen scores of spoilt ballots, apparently forged by pro-Brexit voters.
Slogans such as ‘Brexit now’, ‘We need brexit’ and ‘We’ve already voted on this’ were scrawled next to Brexit, he said, but the electors neglected to vote for either Ukip or the Brexit party.

Williams had been checking the disputed ballots as part of his duties as an election agent, and also found one ballot which had ‘wank’ written in every single box apart from the Green party. The voter left a note saying ‘not wank’ for the environmentalist party which was deemed permissible.

^^ From the guardian.

What channel are you all watching on?

Thank you @venturingback

Five seats declared in Scotland so far, all SNP.

beeyourself · 26/05/2019 22:45

Emily Thornbury may be in trouble for criticising Corbyn's strategy on the bbc...

CinnabarRed · 26/05/2019 22:45

With a different leader Labour would have won the general election in 2017.

beeyourself · 26/05/2019 22:46

I don't understand why it's taking so long to declare if most votes were cast on Thursday - am I being stupid?

MoggyP · 26/05/2019 22:46

Sorry for being dense here, but what is actually meant by 'Labour has lost Islington'

How are Londoners votes collated across the capital, and turned into 8 MEPs? Will all boroughs be announcing results separately, and ahead of main London results?

woohootoyou · 26/05/2019 22:47

I'm enjoying watching these results. Last week I posted that there was a silent majority for Brexit in this country and was scorned for it. The results speak for themselves, and show that Mumsnet is a bit of an echo chamber.

CinnabarRed · 26/05/2019 22:47

Votes are by borough, declared, then cumulated.

CinnabarRed · 26/05/2019 22:47

@MoggyP

venturingback · 26/05/2019 22:48

@MeltedCrayons I'm watching Sky, I tend to like their election coverage. Some very interesting discussions at the moment with ChangeUK. He almost seems to be saying that they will consider merging with the Greens and Libdebs. It's all a bit confused.

venturingback · 26/05/2019 22:49

SNP are in front in Scotland

RoseAndRose · 26/05/2019 22:49

"I don't understand why it's taking so long to declare if most votes were cast on Thursday - am I being stupid?"

EU rules. No exit polls, turnout figures it actual results may be published until polls have closed in every member state. Some voted today, ending at 10pm; when our results started coming out (counting may have been going on ahead of the permitted time to announce)
