Looking for inspiration for half term...

I think mine are St Nectans Glen in Cornwall (pic) and Loch Ness

Ullswater lake in Cumbria - no matter what the weather, it's always spectacular.

The beaches in the west of Scotland, sparking blue water and white sands.

That people looks stunning, hoping to get to the blue lake in Wales at some point this year.

I love the Lizard Penisular in Cornwall and Holkham beach in Norfolk.

Both make me feel like I'm in danger of falling off the face of the earth, in completely different ways (and in a good way!)

The Lizard is just breathtaking views and stunning beaches every way you turn and Holkham feels disorienting somehow, sort vast, alien and infinite (but with free Samphire!)

Mull.
Been to a few amazing countries but nothing compares imo.

Skyejuly · 18/05/2019 12:28

I agree with the beaches on the west coast of Scotland. Also Wast Water in the Lake District.

Just too many to list, but some personal favourites :

Wye Valley
Gower Peninsula
South Devon
West Highlands

Great Langdale, on an unexpected sunny September weekend a few years ago.

Rannoch Moor heading down into Glen Coe after a dusting of snow.

The weather matters apparently!

EastMidsGPs · 18/05/2019 13:07

I agree with Holkham beach. Iti could wander there forever.
Remote areas of the Peak District also. It is timeless and makes me feel connected with all those who worked the land before us.
Man-made, I'd go for Rutland Water.

FenellaVelour · 18/05/2019 13:18

West Highlands, stunning place

Terrysyogurt · 18/05/2019 13:18

Glencoe

Summerorjustmaybe · 18/05/2019 13:20

Glencoe is amazing!!

The valleys and mountains of snowdonia. Breathtakingly beautiful. The first time I went here was when I was a young teenager and was utterly mesmerised by them. I’ve been several times since and it still has the same effect on me.

Pieceofpurplesky · 18/05/2019 13:27

Lots of the places mentioned but I add
Bosherston Lily ponds
Lake Vyrnwy
Newborough Beach in Anglesey and the island

Ronsters · 18/05/2019 13:29

Bleaklow and Crowden in Derbyshire. Not classically pretty, but I like the landscapes. Rough and boggy with weird black peat mounds (groughs, I believe they are called).

Top of Whernside in north York's
