True fact about yourself that no one believes

When I was at university (5 yr course with a year in industry, so 4 yrs of teaching) I never missed a single lecture, seminar, lab or tutorial. If it was on the timetable I was there. We had large contact hours (engineering degree, so about 25 hrs per week) so was quite a lot to fit in.

I’ve told this to a few people over the years when the topic comes up in conversation. No one has ever believed me, and it’s not something I can prove or disprove either way!

Anything you have done in the past that no one believes and you have no way of proving?

That I’m actually really shy
That I administered first aid to a guy who’d been stabbed in the neck (unfortunately he still didn’t survive)

I’m another one who did minimal work through school, no revision etc and came away with decent grades, did nothing with it though

i am related to the Beverley Sisters.

I used to smoke 40+ cigarettes a day. I "don't look like a smoker" apparently

People are often surprised at hearing about my wild child ways in my youth, as I'm so boring nowadays!

Madonna kissed me on the lips when I was 8. I met The Smiths, New Order, The Fall, Stone Roses etc when I was in my early teens. I don't really tell anyone, I was accused of making it up once!

In my far distant youth I posed naked for life drawing classes.

That I got straight A*’s at college

I avoided being blown up in a portaloo by literally 2 feet.

When it’s explained, it makes sense. But as soon as I mention the portaloo it seems to make it less believable to most people

That I was the baby on the pampers box for a few years

That I’m not ‘loaded’ (I do a job that seems to make people assume I’ll be well off). That I’m not really middle class (similar reasons to do with job) and that I bombed out of school with no qualifications.

That I am 26 years old.

People who first met me (who I now know, colleagues etc.) thought I was 17 . I have been asked for ID at a petrol station as well for putting diesel in my car. She did give me a few glares from afar lol.

I knew the day we met that I would marry my now DH. I wouldn't call it love at first sight, but we just clicked instantly as if we'd known each other for our entire lives.

I'm another who got great grades with little effort, ended up dropping out of university though, I couldn't cope with the pressure from my parents after doing so well at school.

I could hardly read until I was 9yo (yes I did go to school)

I knew first cousins that were born a few months apart that had the same first name- their mothers were sisters. Name wasn’t a family name, just a popular name at the time.

I Used to smoke heavily and was very partial to recreational drugs. I'm now very straight, law-abiding.

That I have a diagnosis of major depressive disorder. People always say "oh but you're the cheeriest person ive met/ you dont seem the type" etc. It really fucks with their heads ;) I want to scream...We. Walk. Among. You 🤣🤣
