Most boring film you've ever seen?

I'm watching On Chesil Beach and I can't remember the last time I watched a film this dull. Only sticking with it to see how they do the, ahem, early arrival part. Thinking about it the book was fairly shite too.

What's the most boring film you've ever seen so I can avoid nights like this Grin

The Science Of Sleep. Poor man's Blue Peter.

Lost In Translation. Never was a film more aptly named.

Pokemon Movie. Ds2's 9th birthday treat. I fell asleep.

Figgygal · 06/05/2019 14:20

La la land
Hated every jazzy minute of it

Hushnownobodycares · 06/05/2019 14:26

Oh. Groundhog Day too. Whole audience was effectively cheated out of 2/3 of the entry price.

Sliding Doors. How did they make such a simple premise so infuriatingly hard to follow?

zukiecat · 06/05/2019 14:29

Oh, just remembered one from when my DC were little,

Doug's First Movie,

I fell asleep and woke up hanging out of my seat across the aisle in the cinema Grin

CigarsofthePharoahs · 06/05/2019 14:57

The Watchmen.
Might have been ok if they'd made a TV series rather than a film so you ended up with a stupidly long movie with too much crammed in. Somehow this made it incredibly dull and by the end I was hoping they'd all just die because I was so fed up.

Orchidoptic · 06/05/2019 15:01

Something about some writer. I was never forgiven for falling asleep.

BaronessBomburst · 06/05/2019 15:11

What was that awful French art house film set in a school? Something about 'des enfants' and maybe 'printemps' in the title?
Teacher had a beard.
In fact, most French films. Nothing happens for a whole two hours and then it's mercifully over.

Hushnownobodycares · 06/05/2019 15:26

Not sure the name but it was a film about a man and woman stranded in the ocean, 25 mins in they were still treading water..

Open Water? I liked that. Dh didn't on the same grounds as you Grin I also liked the one in a PP where the boat ladder goes awol and you just know the whole lot of them are being lined up as sharky din dins.

ChopinIn10Minuets · 06/05/2019 15:32

The Object of Beauty. A suffocatingly up-its-own-arse early 90s effort with John Malkovich mumbling unintelligibly in the lead role. It was about the disappearance of some valuable painting or other and insight into the emptiness of the main characters' relationship. Or something.

It ended with the maid tearfully confessing all because it was sooooo beauuuutiful (sob). Hmm You get the idea. Pretentious.

happyhillock · 06/05/2019 15:33

I like the old classic film's when actor's could really act, haven't watched a decent film in over a year there all boring

SarahTancredi · 06/05/2019 15:36

Field of dreams

Time travellers wife

Grease and moulin rouge. Did not get the fuss at all.

The pledge. Could not push on through.

Sinister and the conjuring.

weleasewoderick22 · 06/05/2019 15:37

Lord of the rings. My dc promised me that it was finishing soon, 3 hours later and we're still there.
Also the Lego movie. Too loud and as torturous as drip water.

Oliversmumsarmy · 06/05/2019 15:37

*mrsjackrussell

High school musical. Took children and fell asleep. I also fell asleep in les mis. Hated it*

Did you only see the film???

If you did you were so lucky.

I had the damned cd jammed into my car CD player and got blasted with it on every journey for about 2 years.

The kids loved it.

MaisondeChats · 06/05/2019 15:37

I love the fact you all judge the boring films on whether you fell asleep - I fall asleep during most films. In fact, I usually go to the cinema for a lovely nap!

I've not watched most of these films. As you can probably tell, I'm not a film buff. Finally watched Avatar last night - I did enjoy that but it could have been half an hour shorter!

Oliversmumsarmy · 06/05/2019 15:38

Soaring, Flying over and over and over and over

washinglions · 06/05/2019 15:39

And.. another vote for The English Patient.

janeybumtum · 06/05/2019 15:41

Quite a few but the one that stands out is the bourne film/films. I think people have put them on 3 times over the years and I've nodded off each time. No idea what happens in them, they could be quite good for all I know

janeybumtum · 06/05/2019 15:42

Also most Rom coms and there was a film about a phone box which sent me to sleep

Athousandstars04 · 06/05/2019 15:47

Benjamin button 😴

TessieVanKendre · 06/05/2019 15:48

Lost in Translation. 1hr40mins of my life I'll never get back🤦‍♀️

Starlight456 · 06/05/2019 15:49

I remember going to the cinema to watch 12 monkeys with a couple of friends. My friend both fell asleep in our comfy friend in the middle 🤣

Oliversmumsarmy · 06/05/2019 15:51

i have an ability to tell in 10-15 seconds whether a film is worth watching.

Although sometimes you get sucked in trying to work out wtf is going on.

Can’t remember the name but watched a film where baby was abandoned on an orphanages steps. Then as you got into the film the baby girl grew up, had a sex change, got a gf, impregnated the gf and farthered herself.

Couldn’t quite work out what the hell was going on.

bamboofibre · 06/05/2019 15:53

Definitely 7 years in Tibet - even the lovely Brad Pitt couldn't save that one!
